There's more than that, but that one in particular was pretty bad.Laterali wrote...

Yup. That's the major problem I have with the that theory. I think the people that came up with it are extremely creative, probably more so than the people that actually made the game. Like you said, there's little to no chance that the team who was in charge of the game could come up with something so elaborate, when large parts of the game are half-assed as is. People want to believe that Bioware couldn't have screwed up as hard as they did, but they did.Laterali wrote...
I just saw someone made an hour and a half video about the Indoctrination Theory... All I have to say about it, is that the guy gives way too much credit to the Bioware writing team.
the cold hard fact of the matter is, they shoved this game out the door to get that sweet short-term cash in. EA wanted ME3 on their quarter earnings to cover the fact they lost so much money on SWOTR. If the shareholders knew they were hemorrhaging as much money as they actually are, EA would probably sink like a stone.
I would give Bioware credit if they picked up the theory and ran with it though. But that's likely not happening.
If they ran with IT I'd accept it, I'd know they never once thought of the idea, but I'd accept it.
The number one thing I say when people mention that it couldn't possibly have been the whole team that dropped the ball, I just mention the Thane/Kai Leng fight scene.
Shepard and two other highly trained, highly armed team mates stand and watch while Thane gets his ass handed to him instead of, oh I don't know, shooting Kai Leng in his face.
That's not good writing, thats forcing a death of a popular character for emotional shock and awe.
ごめんなさい Tami!! *big hugs* how are you?TamiBx wrote...

Haha, what did you think the NL stood for? Out of interest where did you think I was from?Nharia1 wrote...
Huh I didn't think you were Dutch...Phoenix NL wrote...
Lol, you'd never match my voice to my name I think. Most people seem to have the idea that I speak with a strong Dutch accent but I don't.Nharia1 wrote...

Haha, that sounds interesting! I usually can't stand hearing other people chat over mics but I think that's more when it's people I don't know.
Would you hate me if I said Canada?Phoenix NL wrote...

Then you are 100% correct Goodwood - give that man a cupcake!Goodwood wrote...
She prolly thought you were British, Phoenix. I had you figured for a Dutch expatriate living in the UK, however.

Sleepy. Almost 2 am here.
And oh, you should all add me on XBL. Actually, you should all add me on XBL: ShadowCrystal26
(not that I'll be playing MP, because, you know, not my thing)
I tried to add you, Phoenix, but xbox won't let me <_<
Well, it's not too hard to guess that when you mention that you're a bunch of times that you're Dutch, mentioned a bunch of times that you live in the UK, and even a time or two specifically said you're a Dutch person who's made home in England, lol.Phoenix NL wrote...

I've use the term "forced emotion," way too often to describe moments of writing in this game, but the reason I do it is becuase that's exactly what this game is full of. In a medium such as this, where the mass effect games had previously taken full advantage of the idea of letting the player input into what happens, and letting situations play out naturally, the fact that this forced emotion comes up so much in this game makes me more worried about what we'll see with Bioware's next game. (especially considering that Dragon Age 2 abused this tool even more egregiously in the first place.)

There should be a "get to an evac point you stupid kid" option. Not every Shepard has time to be nice...

How hard was it for Shep to just reach in, grab the little Bosh'tet and throw him down the build- I mean save him from the rEApers...
It is one of those situations where it would have been better to have very specific ideas going in on the key storypoints / decisions for the 3 games so that they could be consistent throughout. Admittedly that's difficult when you're first making a game and you don't know how successful it's going tobe.BigglesFlysAgain wrote...
Just technically speaking, thinking about the 3 games as a whole, they are a failure in the respect that they did not really create a highly linked storyline where your every decision matters. The first two are great and you do get continuity in your characters storyline, but I think to pull off the kind of thing some players really wanted or kind of expected I think a similar future project would need to be... (These are just perfect world ideas I am throwing out here, obviously it shows that such an undertaking is very hard!)
a) More intricately planned, I know they had the general Idea of things worked out from the start of mass effect 1 development, but IMO it made the gaps they left, which where filled from the experience of making the first game and feedback harder to tie into things.Made back to back, or episodically: Both obviously create challenges from a game development standpoint, but I think getting everything done as one project means you can keep the same people working on things
