They seem to be very pushy with purchasing games there.

Never had that problem... Only problem ive ever hard at Gamestop was long lines... Im very bad at queueing...

Really depends on the employee. Usually though, that's the kind of service I get. Feels like they work for EA or something.

My recent encounters with EA's customer service has lead me to believe they all reside in India.

Gamestop is to distributors as EA is to publishers. Gamestop screws Publishers, Pubs screw us. We, the consumers, are the last person on the Human Centipede. <_<

For future reference, I'm Indian. Though I don't find it offensive, some people can.

In all honesty I think they might all be in India, it's cheaper that way and we all learn english as our first language there. The school I went to forbid us to speak in our local tongue.

Both of the Gamestops here in town are pretty good about most things, they have good people who know their stuff. However, some of the more recent questionable decisions of the company as a whole has made me evaluate where I purchase games from.

Ditto, I've never had much of a problem with Gametsop, just the lines of people, most of them are idiots too... cause they go up and ask if they have a game that just came out like a week ago... and its sitting on the goddamned shelf right when you walk in! :pinched:

Aye... Its funnier when people come to pick up a pre-ordered game... The Gamestop guys have to find the game, the über-box + whatever goes into it and then pack it into the box... At least that's how I got my CE of Dead Space 2 and Warhammer 40k Space Marine...

Currently I'm at a state where I have a decent PC to play all my favorite PC games so I've been looking at Steam for a bit. Maybe I should switch to Gamefly and rent my games, but I am not exactly sure.

Yeah I am PC and a LOT of my games are through Steam, I am thinking about picking up a Gamefly account for Xbox games.

I used to be a member for about a year but had to cancel it because there were really no good games out that I wanted to play. Plus my generous friend keeps renting games for me that he thinks I should try. I am not too sure about it though. Maybe come the holidays I shall pick up Gamefly again.

Alright guys and gals, I'm hopping off for the night, or should I say morning. It's about 2:05 AM and I probably would get yelled at for waking up around 2:00 PM in the afternoon. :D

I'm Indian, and I'm going to pretend to find that offensive. But seriously, when you live in India, you get used to literally all the customer service being with Indians (obviously, lol). That quality is generally dependent on their training. A lot of the bigger retail stores have employees that don't understand the things that they are selling. Some smaller ones do. EA is more of a mixed bag.

My major complaint is that this kind of crap is part of the reason the US economy bombed recently. Heartless corporations in general, really, nothing against the country of India or its people. Doesn't really matter where the jobs go once they're out of the country. US Economy is kinda balls considering we import and don't export. Though can you confirm or deny for me that I'm guessing the nationality right, with names like "Sudhir" and "Richa" and "Yogesh"?

Sucks that your native language(s?) are discouraged though. I kinda feel like English is very boring language, but I reside high in the north of the US where hardly anybody speaks anything other than English. But the four semesters of French classes lead me to believe my window for learning a second language has passed.

All the kids here seem to speak English first, even amongst themselves, but that's only true of the upper-middle classes. Language in India is it's own tricky thing that'd take forever to get into. Also it's very off-topic, even for this thread, lol.

Fact is, poor quality is global. All races, nationalities and cultures will bring out people who serve poorly. The fact that North American companies outsource support to India doesn't mean that Indians are bad at their job. It just means theres alot of outsourcing, and the higher the number, the highest the chance to fall on someone who does their job poorly. Thing is, if the support was done around here, it might be ever worse...

I agree. Like I said, it comes down to level of training and experience. Call centers, not too bad. Retail establishments here... my god it's bad.

For me, having to call every store in the city to find one that was selling Mass Effect 3 on launch day was it's own kind of hell. Though it was one that was actually surpassed by the playing and finishing Mass Effect 3 itself.
