Well at least they actually put in 16 different endings unlike the mythical ones that BioWare did. Not sure why that specific number though.BigglesFlysAgain wrote...

Article about Witcher 2, an interview with CDProjekt Red's CEO, and the last paragraph of the article he discusses the backlash of ME3. It's more a pitch for his own game but...
"what did you think about the very vocal fan reaction to the ending of Mass Effect 3?RPGs are games you invest a lot of your time into. They
become part of your life for quite a while. During this time you highly
identify yourself with the character you play, so if suddenly, after
100+ of hours and few instalments of the series you find out that
whatever you did throughout this whole time, whatever choices you made,
the end is the same, well, I think that disappointment is
understandable. It clearly shows that gamers expect, that their choices
in the RPGs they play are really meaningful – and that’s what both the
Witcher and the Witcher 2 are about.
We actually went so far in Witcher 2 that,
depending on the player’s choice in Chapter One there are two totally
different versions of Chapter Two, two different locations and two
different storylines. To see both, you have to play the game twice. On
top of that the game has 16 different endings depending on gamers
choices throughout the whole game. There are decisions and there the
consequences and you see it from the beginning to the end of both
Witchers."
They made GoG, which is a website where you can go to get DRM FREE versions of PC classICS like Baldur's Gate and NWN and PLANESCAPE TORMENT, many of which include bonuses like soundtracks. All of which are reworked in order to be playable on, say, Windows 7. And receive a little polish in regards to graphics.
Witcher 2 is also on there DRM free, and if you bought it elsewhere you can get a DRM free backup copy from them for free. These guys are all about playing to the pc gamer's desires, it's what they're built on and they've had success with it. And I've heard Witcher 2 is one of the best PC to 360 ports ever.

When I got my copy of Witcher 2 off gog, they gave me the game guide, the soundtrack, the artwork, some papercraft dolls, dev diaries, and just a ton more stuff. All for 50 dollars.
For people that bought ME3 at full price, wasn't it like 80 dollars for the comparable edition?
CD Projekt is rpg's last bastion of good games.

Well DUH. They made that game very carefully for the PC to make the most of your graphics card. The 360 is outdated tech. But then, I hear it's still pretty good compared to other Xbox games. Not bad for a first attempt at programming for a console, right?

Yeah but they didn't give me those, I would have had to import a Polish Playboy for those. I thought that was hilariously awesome that they did that. It supposedly was a pretty popular issue too. The Witcher is a big deal there, Poland's Prime Minister even gave a copy of Witcher 2 to Obama when he visited.

Hm. You must've bought it at launch then? I bet if you go back they're probably available now?
It's Poland, and it's an internationally acclaimed game based on novels. It's probably the best thing to come out of Poland in.... ever? Besides polish sausage anyway, that stuff is delicious. Smoked > plain.

Yeah I did, I've read the first 2 books, and I've even watched the Polish tv show based on the books, which I actually quite enjoyed. I'm waiting for the 3rd book to be translated into a language I can read, but I don't hold much hope of it happening.

Right after the EC was announced, it seemed rather pointless giving Bioware more feedback or constructive criticisms. And it's taken me a while to find a decent way to explain why the ME3 ending left me so very disappointed, and why more 'clarity and closure' probably won't satisfy me.
The best analogy I can come up with is that playing the ME series is like going to an exceptionally good French restaurant and dining on a 9 course degustation (the most I've done is 5 courses; no, I don't feel guilty; yes, it was divine). Each dish is incredible, with increasing levels of depth, complexity and sophistication. As you get to the final course, you wonder what it could be; chocolate soufflé with creme anglais, or a chocolate and hazelnut parfait with a sorrel mint granita, or could it be a walnut tarte, with Roquefort ice-cream and honey thyme grilled figs? Something at least as good as everything else that had been served before it. Something that will make you wish the evening never ended and make you savor every minute you spent in that restaurant. You look around the table, everyone excited to see how the evening ends.
And then they serve fruit salad.
You look disbelievingly at the waiter, wondering if it's a joke. Alas, it is not. It's exactly what the head chef intended to do. Your eyes settle back to your companions, all looking as confused as you. This is not what you expected; the excitement is replaced by bewilderment, the evening sullied.
You and your companions finish your meal, but don't even stay for the petit fours. You relate the experience to others. Your review is not glowing. You never return to that restaurant, wondering if the chefs truly know how to complete a meal.

Great isn't it. Whenever I half-ass something from now on and get guff from someone I'm claiming artistic integrity.
Nurse "Excuse me sir, you didn't fill out these forms correctly"
"Artistic Integrity, mam!"
Cable company Cashier," Sir, your bill says you owe 75 dollars, you've given me 15."
"Artistic Integrity, sir!"

Only way I'll grant artistic integrity is if they use the Indoctrination Theory. Otherwise, it's poor writing.

You know it occurs to me that Bioware could be trying to get our expectations REALLY low for the EC. The higher your expectations the harder it is to meet them. The more dissapointment your expecting, its arguably easier to satisfy you since if they make something even mildly good you were always expecting alot worse.
That or they're just trying to cover all their bases
Troll logic dictates that BW is obviously going to add this promise of not changing the endings to the already long list of ones broken.

I'm guessing that now would not be a good time to tell you I had a galette with swiss cheese, prosciutto and sundried tomatoes, and a crepe with nutella slathered all the way through it for dinner last night, right?
