Larian? Really? The ending of Divinity 2 was really, really crap...

It was bad. It was better than this, however. :(

Obsidian is still very much a possibility for quality games. They just need to finally get all the ducks in a row and live up to the potential they have. IMO they have better writing and the C&C and dialog part of Alpha Protocol was way ahead of anything Bioware has done. Bad Project Management and QA seems to be the issue there. Once that is fixed - watch out.

CD Project Red have proven that they can make a great RPG. The Witcher was fun and nicely done, Witcher 2 was a leap ahead in many ways. 2 games and they got better between them - they are a company to keep close watch on imo.

I totally agree. I felt like I got hoodwinked! If they had said it right like your are guiding the character Shepard through this awesome story like Uncharted or Assassin creed, I would be perfectly fine right now with the endings because it is a Shepard I don't own if that make sense. Not mine. Under that, I think the endings are terrific! However, under my previous impression of a very choice-driven-I-choose-the-destiney Shepard, not okay and the endings are not so good in that perspective.

Anyways, I just don't like being lied to (yes, it is a lie because Casey said wildly divergent endings and that it was mine Shepard) and that is my main beef.

Well I think it was Mac Walters in an interview said that Uncharted gave him inspiration.  Guess most people read that as "whatever" but in reality I guess that should have been a red flag.

I've played all the Uncharted's and they all have happy endings, but not this piece of ****

if they were going to make an mmo, it makes perfect sense to destroy the relays. as they created expansion packs they could just say they rebuilt another relay. It all set up to start from earth , because all the fleets were there, so you would have all the races represented. As they created expansion packs they could slowly establish links to each species home world.

the batarians could be the bad guys , along with a synthetic race trying to bring about the singularity, not to mention pirates , mercs, warlords etc...

not hard to picture.

I can sort of see where your comming from, but a MMO that featured Thessia, Rannoch, The Citadel and Omega would do far better IMO. I don't associate Earth with the series at all, but places like Omega are easily identifiable as Mass Effect.

It also dosent explain why the Normandy crashed and formed that colony. That would imply that they want the MMO to take place there, but the only people there would blue skinned people with wierd heads, and Liara's decendants. Why the Normandy couldn't have stayed on earth I have no clue.

I think I got it:

You take the fish with you, see the Guardian and then slap him with it. (since we got space magic already, the hologram can be touched by the amazing paddlefish!)

And then we get a different ending. :P

Right? Right?

If you want you can send me a pm what was so bad about it. But we are now way offtopic. Better get on topic again.

I really wonder how that fish thing works out. It seems just really strange.

The ending of Divinity 2 or the ending after the Addon "Flames of Vengeance"?

Divinity 2 (Main game, without FoV). I've played the Addon later, it was fun and the ending was allright, but I could it only see on YouTube, because I never beat the last dragon sequence. :crying:

Which developer? Bethesda is pretty bad regardless of what you think.

So who else? Blizzard can't do anything right.

Obsidian died a long time ago.

I'm not sure any RPG Story developers exist in North America other than those that are quality.

Also those 4 endings are awful.

Obsidian or CD Project Red. Oh, the gameplay would have nothing to do with the shooter that ME is now and it would probably be rushed and bugged to hell and back, if it was Obsidian, but the ending would have been satisfactory. Look at FO:NV, for example. Hell, even Dungeon Siege 3 had a better ending than what we're getting from ME3.

CD Project Red's next game is already roumored to be a space opera, so I don't see why not. They definitely would be able to pull it off. Well, maybe the game would have been quite a bit ****tier, but, damn it, it would still be better than this.

It is my firm belief that, if you really want choice and consequence in your games, go for these two developers.

I'm going to be out for a few hours. I'll check back with you when I get back. I like this conversation. ^_^

CD Project Red doesn't have much experience and they make very buggy releases close to being on par with the style that Obsidian or Bethesda has, though Bethesda takes the cake.

I'm not sure Project Red can do good gameplay, they haven't really just yet.

CD Projeckt excels at weaving together intricate storylines that keep you hooked, but they don't do so well in terms of making you feel attached to any of the characters featured or the world they are in. Triss is characterized as a seedy master manipulator and occasional liar. Geralt is an ugly anti-hero. The noblemen and noblewomen who rule in The Witcher universe are petty, thuggish authoritarians. Vernon Roche and Iorveth? One dimensional badasses/yes-men with few other redeeming qualities beyond unquestioning loyalty to their respective causes.

The world is ugly as sin, too. Prostitutes everywhere. The authorities are corrupt. There is racism against elves.

CD Projeckt needs to work on their writing a little. BioWare is still gold standard when it comes to creating likeable and multi-dimensional characters.

True, but they do high quality storytelling work... and they never give up on their games. If something like this discussion would have happened about the einding of the Witcher 2, they would have changed it via a huge patch.

Who knows. As far as the endings go, we still are only seeing a portion of them. If they are the only endings, I'm content, I doubt they are. Perhaps the good ending requires an extremely high readiness rating - such has been speculated by others who've read the script, etc.

Yes, I understand scan and photos. You'll have to excuse me then - I was hoping to give you further information on what he posted and it all looks very real in fact more real than anything yet. If you check those mentioned fish ARE listed as a war asset, and are far and away the most expensive fish on Illium. Over 7000 credits but 6666 credits with the discount. All other fish are selling for $500 credits. I wondered why those fish were so expensive just as I wondered why there are TWO huge aquariums in Sheppard's quarters. It seemed to be the obvious place for those would have been for the entire crew. However, to me at least those aquariums always screamed at me to GET FISH! And the other part - I have always blown up the Collector base - this playthrough I'm gonna go with keeping that base.

I wonder what their excuse for the fish being a war asset is... Reaper controlling fish maybe? Joker controlling fish?

...And you're ****ting me, blowing up that base is a mistake...

...Moral interrogatory and pissing off TIM or adopting Turian babies with Garrus...

...So conflicted. :crying:

You're conflicted? I'm rushing to try and do ME2 again and this time around feed the damn fish - and keeping that base - hell that goes against my judgement. But I suppose its the end game that counts and having and learning Reaper tech developed by the Reapers through the Collectors has meaning I never suspected. Again our choices seem to come back and bite us in the butt. In any case according to the Prima Strategy Guide even brand new player will start with the premise THEY too blew up the base. If that's the case BW really set a trap for players big time. To tell the truth I've never kept that base - this time around I'll make a different choice and keep it - and the strategy giude clearly mentions that base. In any case I sure a heck got blowing up the base covered three or four times over. Guess it never hurts to have one with an intact base.

I WANTED some choices to bite me in the ass, especially the Collector base... but like this... :crying: All I've heard prior to this was the whole, if you kept it, you get a reaper brain and get to control husks and I was fine with not having that.

I'm going to need a save editor... No way in hell I can finish an ME2 run like that that quick.

What are you talking about? TW2 has the best swordplay/melee combat of any game I've ever played. It's addictive as hell.

Right? Right?

Nononono. See, we THROW the Paddlefish into the crucible, which will turn everyone into half-fish! And reapers will become cuttlefish!

IF and I say IF the ending are as feared - this will bring BW a rage unlike anything ever seen in the video market. Why? Try hanging out in the non spoiler groups threads such as Tali group, Liara group, Ashley group - they can't wait to live happily ever after with their chosen. They have no idea of the posted endings to this point in time - and I can imagine their Blood Rage will make Krogan look like children with a slight cold.

There is a loophole, though, for certain characters. You can leave Tali, Garrus, and the VS behind as war assets and they stay in the solar system while the Normandy is blasted away. But, still no real closure, though - the final cutscene still consists of Shepard getting up in the ruins of London. No LIs featured.

A lot of people dislike the combat style and control mechanisms for it. Witcher 1 was bad too.

Oh, it is so hard to be in the non spoiler groups right now. Hell, even the spoiler groups are going with the whole 'ignorance is bliss' attitude.

My heart breaks when I see them typing away all their hopes, I am NOT joking. :crying:

Depends on who was backing them and investing in them and whether they felt it was a suitable investment.

What I don't understand is this: If you kill a higher end reaper, the reapers under it get confused and stupid. Al the reapers are under the Guardian. Why not blow up the Guardian and just kill the reapers the old fashioned way while they're confused and stupid?
