You are a tattoo artist?
I knew there was a reason I like you ^_^
Well, a reason apart from the obvious ones.

Indeed I am M'lady.
Image IPB

I considered learning the trade once, around the time I got my ink. Then I realized I would end up screaming to those customers who want tribal, or text (with a font copied from microsoft word) or that little butterfly/rose in their ankle. You know, all those original fabulous things people get when they want to have a tattoo, instead of  a picture they'll spend rest of their lives with <_<

And that's not good for income. So now I'll only draw pics for my own ink, and on one occasion to a friend. Which reminds me, I really should finish my shrike so I'll get the sleeve inked at some point. Preferrably before I'm so old they have to iron my skin to get the wrinkles out before tattooing...

Its a intresting trade to learn, I started doing it when I was 15 or so. As far as cilents go, most  tend to understand that its not a good idea to ****** off the guy whos gonna be sticking a needle in you for the next hour. For my from scratch stuff, its normally done for family & friends (me included) since most cilents tend to have a good idea what they want & how they want it done so I am rarely given complete creative freedom.

That's the other part. I'm not sure whether my Artistic Integrity would allow me to compromise my vision :P
lol, jk

But it really is hard to compromise styles. I have this one really good tattoo guy I go to, when I get this friggin bird done, even though he is expensive, since a) he's skilled B) he's a pro when it comes to the health aspect c) he knows how to modify my drawings to be better suited for ink, without destroying the original picture in the process. My happy little rooster was super detailed, inspiration drawn from Japanese watercolours, so he ended up redrawing it for nearly an hour to make sure the lines would not become blurred in the passing of the time
I'm not complaining, I'd rather have my pic looking good on my shoulder for the next 50 years.

What, you mean tats are not on topic? O__O
...damn, I just realised mine is mostly red. That means I foresaw the destroy ending and Shepar breathing scene over 5 years ago. It must be, since my rooster looks like a phoenix, the symbol of rebirth, hope, new life and the feminine side of the world. And vanilla femShep is a redhead! It's all a conspiracy!

And wth is going on with the comment behind the first link?
""Usually, when a guy loses the game, the game shuts down; it's over. It's done. The players don't like that," He [Lance Henriksen] added."

...quick, to the speculation mobile. :?

It sounds like your guy is going his job quite well. Artists are supposed to understand that we are supposed to help turn their vision into a good looking tattoo. Most artists (myself included) like to put their own touch on everything too. I get asked alot about price too & it comes down to the amount of work we put into it. Rule of thumb is you get what you pay for & a cheap tattoo isnt a good one.

I don't really think they are crowdsourcing DA3, they are more getting a gauge on what fans are interested in storywise, but I think crowdsourcing would actually be a great idea.

If people like the game, Bioware makes more money, so if Bioware gets ideas from the fans, it's a win-win situation. If Bioware can get some ideas on what the fans would like to see, and then take those loose ideas and put their own spin on them, it gives the writers a chance to flex their creative muscles, it gives fans satisfaction knowing that the developer cares about them, which in turn makes those fans very loyal, which in turn makes Bioware even more money, again a win-win situation.

CD Projekt already does this, and look at the rewards.

If Bioware is serious about this, this could be the redeeming factor that keeps me a customer.

It's a heavy risk, but the priiiize...

Yes, his calendar is full for a reason. Always. If one wants to get a time from him, there are pretty much only 2 days in a year it's possible. :)

In general it all boils down to whether the person is a professional and has pride in their job or not. He told me straight what had to be changed if I want my ink to look good decades from getting needled. He could have just done the picture as it was, since that was in no way impossible. Instead he said the tiny thin little lines would get smudgy in 10 years, and that he had much too much pride in his work to do a tat which would not look good after merely a decade.

Just like the gal who did my viper bites. She told me there had been a lot of cases she had refuced to pierce anything, either because of a health risk, or because the piercing would just not look good in the place the customer wanted them. And that's the difference between a professional parlour and someone who needles people for money. Professional never cut corners. And this is how this post ties in with the topic of this thread.

I think it's just economical. Sure it's good PR and better contraceptive than a vasectomy, to help prevent those ugly PR babies, but also economical. Many fans are deeply involved with the story and characters, and will have good, well-thought-out suggestions. That and when there are hundreds of people sending their suggestions, there are bound to be fresh ideas there. All that can be subtracted from the amount of work hours needed to make a good game.

Ah well that explains a hell of a lot really am debating whether or not to get a tattoo.

If you are prone to gaining and losing weight I would imagine the pic you chose to be much more important.

Only advice I could give is to put it in a place that can be discreetly covered with clothes for work.

Yup. If we had had crowdsourcing and Volus Infiltrators, none of us would be here now, and my BSN account would be quite happily unused, as it was for 2 years before the ending.

Pretty much every place except the face is coverable :P
I like the fact it is now so common to have a tat, at least in any bigger town, that no one cares, unless it's something special or really well done. That being said, I second what hitman said. Do your homework, go to a pro and make sure you like the pic. If you can draw it, even better. I must say that after spending months to get mine just perfect, I was pretty damn sure I like it when the needle-time came.

Since I love to meddle in things that are in no way my business, I'd suggest you get it inked really, really minimalistically, and make use of your body with it. I have seen people do great things with the tat placement, using their spine, bones, even earlobe to make their ink special. It usually looks better too, compared to the standard arm placement :P

Either that, or you embed, or ask the artist to embed, that text into a pic. Which can look awesome or fall flat on its arse. But that's the thing with all works of art, isn't it? Yes ME3 ending, I am looking at you. <_<

HAHA I love meddling particularly when I win a raceImage IPB.

The image is emblazoned on the right side of the shirt about chest height and I was thinking i'd get it done in a similar place about half the size, keep it unobtusive.
