Also, random question of my own, is Alpha Protocol worth picking up? I've heard conflicting things about it, but it still sounds pretty apealing.

I genuinely feel like it's worth the purchase. Yeah, there were a lot of issues around launch, but those are pretty much gone now.
The first couple missions are fairly frustrating, as you really haven't had the chance to sink enough points into any talents yet to be GOOD at anything. But that's fixed by the time you're out of the desert, and it's a ton of fun after that. Soldier on for the first couple, then party on. Vary your abilities a bit though, else you'll get effed up by boss fights.
Edit: Without a couple levels in a weapon, you won't be able to hit a damn thing with it. Like, worse than ME1. But once you do get a few levels, you're a cold sniper.
