So is this hysteria because of how crappy Dragon Age 2 was, or does this just generally happen with every game release?

Agreed with all of this, infact sometimes I wonder why I continue to play bioware games  the angst level alone that they write in drive me crazy but then I think how amazing their games generally are! TBH I think I am just jaded after DA2 which is wrong - one poor game does not mean they are turning in to a terrible developer, well I only have to wait another week (UK) and I will find out for myself but my hopes for me3's writing went down when I heard about Joker &Edi (who had to be sexy )

Sadly, I do have to agree with this. The further along a production is, the more costly it is to change something. 

In this case, they would've had to bring back dozens of voice actors, re-record lines, re animate cut-scenes, re dowhole parts of the game. 

It's not financially feasible.

Ugh I love EDI but hate the new body. Somebody said that they explained why they chose that but besides random Joker/Edimancing I can't see a reason besides 'herpderp sexy robot'. I liked Discoball Edi

Not going to happen. I'm not boycotting EA over a crappy ending. I might still buy DA3 if it's any good.

Just noticed something: Bioware released contradictory statements. We've heard time and time again that they've created a satisfying ending, but we've also heard more than once that it will make people angry. In what world do we live in where we equate anger to be satisfying?

It would be possible to release DLC ending/s that would give us fans of the series a sense of satisfaction. This is what I hope they do.

The script isn't changed since the October leak and since then they have been in denial. It wasn't possible to delay the game further coz they had already delayed it by 3 months and making a new script after the leak would cost them a lot of time and resources and hence they decided to stick with it. Also a further delay would make them lose their credibility, hence they are in a state of denial.

Funny thing is, the endins in the leaks were actually relatively good, IMO. Not great, it was still just picking a different colored explosion, but at least there was still hope for the Normandy... And if you sacrificed Shepard through the Control or Synergy/Merge endings the Relay Network wasn't destroyed.

That was bittersweet!

You could either force the galaxy's technological level back to non-spaceflight era and get a happy ending for Shepard or keep the galaxy as it was/fuse organics with machines so to prevent the singularity/deaths due to isolation in exchange for Shepard's life. That made me feel like Shepard's sacrifice meant something.

Now it's everyone's ****ed no matter what.

They better because I REFUSE to accept these endings as the only one to chose from.
