Yep, that's probably the case...
I briefly wondered why it matters just asking the few hudred people on HTL, then I realised they would want to know what the HC would think, because they are the ones most likely to cause a "fuss" if the EC is bad...

The only thing that I wish is that BW only asked this kind of questions if they are at least a little bit willing to concede to a new ending, and not just an explanation. If they are going with the "explanation", and something that will just show what happened to the characters after the dreadful ending, they shouldn't throw this kind of question around. It gives fans hope, just to be crushed right around the corner. If it's already decided that "nope, we are just giving some explanation, but sticking to our ending", they should not allow their employees to say things like that to the fans.
So, giving them the benefit of the doubt, they may be thinking about something bigger than just an "explanation".
I think Bioware have no fcuking idea what they're doing anymore...

No, I don't believe in it, in order to believe in it I would have to accept that every little thing in the game is some clue to indoctrination and I can't do that, its gotten ridiculous with some things lately that are "evidence" of IT, I would like anything except IT (sorry! I don't care; as long as my Shepard has an option to survive and the crew isn't stuck in some random planet forever, I'm fine with it. If IT is what takes for that to happen, so be it.

Well i thought a lot about it and I think that the ONLY way to save the ending (and make it epic) is with IT. There are too many plotholes and inconsistencies in the ending for them to try to explain them. And trust me no one will allow the current ending to be deleted or replaced (like many of us want) with something else in an already released product. It just won't happen. And there aren't many possibilities for fixing it.

Well bioware obviously think they are "fixing" the ending by doing whatever they are doing, but stating it outright is not very wise, especialy when peoples idea of what a fix constitutes varies a lot

Edit: IT is possible if it all starts right there and then at the beam, but some stuff used to support it is from way before then, everything IT has from the beam and on is solid, save for a few things, but it was stuff I liked/could support lol

They are not unfixable (I am not saying the fixes would be pretty but they exist), Where did squad go? Ran back to ship, and in one line of diologue. Where did Normandy go? Ordered to Escape. How did andereson get ahead? He just did... Rinse repeat ect..
What happens post ending?
Dull naration and epilogue
Squadie: Oh its a shame the commander did not live to see his sacrafice come to fruition, now we are all half cyborg we can do cool ****,
Joker: Yeah I can now download porn directly to my brain!
Or
Squadie: Hey shepard your alive! *fistbump in space*

I feel the same way. They can't just explain a lot of things because they go against the rest of the game (such as many mass relay explosions not destroying the entire galaxy) so the best (and easiest) wayt to fix it would be IT. Sure, a lot of things might be stretching, but most of it isn't.
I actually never understood why we got the Synthesis and Control choice. I mean, wasn't it obvious that we had to destroy them? Or else we should've gotten the option to ally with TIM or Saren...just saying
edit: wasn't the Prothean VI damaged? Also, wasn't the whole IT about either being completely indoctrinated or not? So technically, Shepard isn't completely indoctrinated, so the VI can't detect it.
Wait a second. Why wasn't the Prothean VI taken to the Crucible? What happened to it after Kai Leng's death?

Pretty much I understand this, I don't disagree with the IT, however, I do understand that it opens up it's own host of plot holes. However, I can overlook those better than I can the current ones as they aren't as HUGE as the current ones are.TamiBx wrote...

I think (as much as I don't like to admit it) I still trust in BW to get this right.

Well that's kind of the thing, they have said pretty much that they won't be 'fixing' it at least not in the way we think. They are 'expanding the ending to give more clarity and closure' - paraphrase. That right there hints that we aren't going to be happy with the results.Dj14365 wrote...

That can imply IT, for all we know...because it won't be changing; it will be just expanding and explaining...:innocent:
Seriously though: why can't Shepard survive in any other ending besides Destroy? The explosion was intense, so Shepard should've died...
edit: now that I realize...couldn't Shepard just take a shot from far away instead of walking towards it?

I agree with you, however, I think that is all the info we're getting from Bioware until the EC is released sometime in the next 4 months... and really I wouldn't expect it before the end of June, since summer doesn't start until the 20th of June. So we will see what happens.TamiBx wrote...

TBH he was probably expecting the explosion to kill everyone in thousands of Km, a few metres should have not have made a significant difference.
Maybe he was worried his gun would run out of ammo (I know!) or somthing, so he wanted to make sure he hit the reaper off button correctly

"Now I hope that the Extended Cut will make things right with you and us.
It will answer your questions, it will make you happy, it will create goodwill and all the happy things that I think both sides want. I also know that likely will not happen for 100% of everyone with concerns over
the ending. We'll do the best we can, but some people may not like it
no matter what it is.
Again, I cannot go into details about what the EC will or will not have, contacts, dates, etc, but I am wondering what you ME fans think will happen next. Please use the poll and feel free to answer in detail as well."
