So we can't get the ending we want after all?

This. I smashed the caring cup over my little brother's head when he went on about the IT in the way you have mentioned, now I no longer have a caring cup, I just have a instrument for shutting people who say "lol, he too dum to undrstan why it must be the IT.".
If you want to believe that there is a plan all along, feel free to, if you want to tell someone else how they is stupid to understand why that said THEORY could be true, then I will feel free to break yet another newly made caring cup.
I also hate how they link absolutely everything to it, to the point where I think when they listen to something, whenever they hear the words Reaper, indoctrination or theory, they begin jumping up and down in their chairs yelling "IT! IT! IT!" before they read the context of the use of the word. It's fine saying a few points may make the case, but they really make themselves look like a bunch of anal fools when they send links of things that occurred throughout the entire franchise and then use it as evidence, when it clearly was never intended to be, or probably ever will be.
Like Dark Energy turned out to be at all important, right? Let's face facts, there's not a lot of continuity between 2 & 3 in general beyond "Those guys we spent the whole series talking about? They're here. Not that you'll ever see them because they're just too huge and awesome to be included." I mean, we're firing guns that launch projectiles at the speed of light. Surely they could have applied that tech to hurling boulders or something that would smash Reaper armor. Instead of the exercise in frustration that was aiming a targeting laser while running back and forth.
Honestly, at this point I think I'll be outraged if it turned out the IT was the plan all along. No, trying to spring it on us does not make up for torturing consumers for months with hardly a detail about the intentions of the EC. It would've been acceptable if they'd had the proper ending ready to go and put it up like 2-4 weeks after launch. At this point I think most of us are just sick of the mess and want it fixed.

Both sides know that the EC is nothing but bioware saying "Sigh, ok, we will 'splain it tooz jooo..."
Its a gimmick, and we know it will suck. Only a bufoon can write and roll out with an ending that bad. Its not 'high minded' or 'heavy duty'. It just plain old sucks. "I made synthetics to kill you because if I didn't..... synthetics would kill all of you." Thats how cosmically stupid this whole ending is. its not high minded. Its idiotic. I don't need it explained. In fact, I'm not the one who needs any of it explained to me - its the people who made this dogcrap ending.

What bothers me is that the hold the liners (us) and the IT guys are on the same side. We know the ending cannot be that bad - yet this 'artistic integrity' is all bioware throws back.

I get you - there are many shades here. In the end, it will all be for naught - in my humble opinion.

I have managed to reach some kind of no-expectations-zen for the EC. I'm indifferent. No motivation to play any ME title, MP aside, so I have been Skyriming and installing other games, like STALKER and Borderlands. Contemplating on getting DayZ mod.Tonymac wrote...

Doesn't make the "teehee, u 2 dum to get it, u mad" attitude of theirs any less annoying. Sure, there are number of polite IT believers, in this thread too, but mostly that's what happens when you question the hardcore believers. Yeah, the reality(Bioware screw up the ending) is too much for some people to handle, it's better to believe everything is part of a big plan.
It's fooling yourself in my opinion but i can understand why people do this kind of rationalization...

Or as the MW player in me says: 'any damned gun available and nearest to you.'
I'll let people speculate though, because you know, space magic ice-cream.

Anyone else not returning to play ME3 until they fix this lame excuse for an ending?
Right now its Witcher 2, Halo Reach, Diablo 3, Resident Evil ORC keeping ME3s sour taste out of my mouth.
How is everyone else killing time?
How do you even have time for all that?
I'm still trapsing around Skyrim. Diablo III CE is still sitting on my shelf patiently waiting to be played. I figure I'll install it on the weekend and forget about it until the first patch comes out or I get invited to a LAN party.

Nah. Nutella is pure evil.
What's wrong with straight hazelnut butter. Damn companies have to shove chocolate into everything?

It would be pretty easy to prove in a civil court that they are responsable for inflicting emotional distress. They have plenty of case studies on YouTube.

But you have proven to be a totally delightful train wreck so far.
