May be a good look for her. But I can't imagine a vorcha in a corset. Posted Image

... Ok, as suspicious as I was of the flattery, I think I preferred it to this.

Oh, it was a development joke. People were comparing D3 to My Little Pony because it was "so colorful." For using more than black, gray, and dark gray. Blizzard even made t-shirts.

They are even sold out. What kind of sick bastards would wear these?

My apologies, dear Atrocity. The setup was too good to resist.

The kind of sick bastards who find it HILARIOUS. Like me. Sadly not everyone would get the joke so I do not see myself ever getting one.

So are there any good rpgs anymore? I've been looking and looking, and every rpg that has come out recently is apparently sub-par. So is this like the dark ages for rpgs now?

I've been looking for a game I'd be willing to spend 60 dollars on, and I've come across nothing.

Buy Skyrim and mod the heck out of it. The just (?)  released the tools for it. It will be the RPG you want.

What you are describing as post-ressurection madness is just bad karioke on too much alcohol.

Yeah well, there was a lot of paper.

It is indeed the dark age of RPGs right now. Which is probably part of the reason we were all so furious at the end of ME3. The golden age was back in the days of Super Nintendo and no one will ever convince me otherwise. I've bought more old games off GoG lately than any new releases.

I think people pretty much gave up on defeating Bioware on the RPG front, or EA wasn't accepting RPGs and forcing Bioware to crank them out on ridiculous timelines, or I don't know what. There's just... nothing. I've been playing the Dragon Quest remakes for DS, I'm suffering such RPG withdrawal. I'm slowly dynamiting an entire WORLD in my Terraria game because I'm so bored. And can't think of anything in particular I wanna build. I'm paying for MMOs I can't bring myself to play.

And I see no relief on the horizon, either.

Unless you are looking for a game with a core plot and strong writing.

Dragon's Dogma might have potential, but it's Capcom. The ones who EA is stealing their business model from, the cutting edge developers of Disc Locked Content and "Buy The Ending Separate."

I think I'll wait to see if the entire game is enabled at launch. If not, I'll wait longer to get complete game.

Plot? Unnecessary :P
And isn't Dogma heavily MP stressed? At least all the demo material I have seen has been MP, so I assumed it is. I hate having to play MP in games. That's why I have quit playing all the MMOs I've tried.

Dunno, haven't looked into it much. Personally the only game I'm really waiting on is Starbound. Which is seeming a lot like Super Terraria 64 or something to that effect.

I bought Skyrim back when it first released, and did mod it like crazy. But by the time the decent mods came out, I pretty much lost interest in Skyrim. It's fun for sandboxing and just going around killing dragons and bandits, but the story is almost non-existent.

I've recently replayed all the ME's, DAO and DA2. I tried going back to the original Fallout and Neverwitner nights, but I just can't do it. The only game that holds any appeal to me is Guild Wars 2, so i may have to pre-purchase it and check out the betas until release.... What a sad time for rpg players.

And not populated by very stoic, manequin-like beings. My solution to ME3's bitter aftertaste and lack of RPGs I cared about was to replay Origins. It did not disappoint. Now I have to decide wether to buy D3 or get the Witcher 2. Decisions, decisions

I'll add it to the list, but I want a video replay before I deem it an official death.

So far skimming the high 3000's for reported deaths.

D3 is basically D2 with shinier attacks and a required constant online connection. So... yeah. If you love D2 and wish it had better graphics and occasionally crashed on you, D3 is the way to go. If you were at all dissatisfied with D2, don't waste your money. It's more of the same.

Can't really comment on Witcher 2, it's moving pretty slowly for my tastes. Several hours of play into the game and I've managed to complete the part of the plot revealed in the 4 minute trailer.

Edit: But at least a few moments of the opening was populated by a nice pair of digital breasts rather than stoic manequins.

I read the Wkipedia entry today. There is something called the Ur-Dragon which looks co-op. Even the party members you borrow from other players could fit that definition. But no real-time MP to speak of.

Then I might give it a chance, when there are more reliable peer reviews to look at. I dislike the idea of co-op as well, but as long as that's not necessary...

Ah, and don't we all love digital breasts? I've seen the less-than ideal reception D3 has received from the fans, so that's why I'm hesitant. Still, a deep sense of nostalgia calls to me. As for the Witcher 2, the problem with that is being kinda OCD I'd have to also beat the Witcher, to understand what's going on. And I hear it's kind of a slog

Then this thread is mutliplayer too since I borrowed this quote from you?
Dragons Dogma has no competitive or cooperative mutliplayer.
