I hear you. One of the main reasons why I love Origins is because the Warden is as close as I've come to creating someone who is like me, personality-wise. I just did the exact same replay as my 360 version and was thouroughly entertained. I'm leaning towards the Witcher cause I her the story is well written. Still, there's something about Geralt that puts me off. Like they're trying too hard too make him a badass
Thats exactly what I thought before I played it too. But in the game it dosen't come off like that to me. But the story is really well written & the game changes drastically based on your choices.
I had read the books so I understood Geralt's character for when I played Witcher 1. I don't think that they're trying to make him a badass per se, but more along the lines of trying to make him as neutral as possible from the get go, so you can make your choices with as little pre-bias as possible. You know, Like Shepard fighting TIM through all of ME3, only for them to say, "Actually 'Control' is a perfectly viable option, guess TIM wasn't that bad after all....Sorry."
They do a great job, to be honest, I loved the games. He's about as neutral a character as you could get. And then it's up to you to pick sides....Or don't. I like Witcher 1 better, cause you could go completely neutral through the whole game and pick neither the Scoia'tael or the Order of the Flaming Rose and say "screw both of you".
It's a really fun game. The only reason I can't get back into it, is since I played it so many times, and it's admittedly a slow pace kind of game, it has trouble keeping my attention after the twelves playthrough.
