The whole movie was a kind of techno noir (is that a thing? I'm going to pretend it's a thing), but I thought the movie worked better when it spoke for itself. I haven't seen the version with narration in a while, but what I remember was that other than the fact that Harrison Ford sounded kind of bored during it, it was fine for the most part. Will probably have to watch it again.

I'll pretend right beside you. It should be a thing.
And this reminds me, I have Blade Runner somewhere on my computer. Maybe I should finally get around watching it.

It should totally be a thing. And you should watch the movie. It think it'd be worth your time.

I'm just gonna throw this out there; Blade Runner single player rpg.... I'd play the **** out of that game. In the style of the old KOTOR games, going around and investigating kind of like L.A. Noire, then chases through the streets, and over the streets in the flying cars. Swapping out pistol components like crystals in KOTOR. Then finding out towards the end, in the same vein as turning out to be Revan all along, you're actually a replicant, so do you side with the replicants and gain their freedom, or do you do your job and put them down.

I would buy that game in a second. That sounds brilliant.

You get the special edition blade from the film and game blade runner... only RRP £99.99,

*what do you mean there was no blade in blade runner?*

I would get it if they also threw in a limited edition replica of the cane from Citizen Kane.

Best article ever written right here.

Gets two science fiction writers, Joe Abercrombie and Jonathan Green, to discuss the ending of ME3. They do kind of come on both sides. The important part is the second page, where they basically say that the ending is just plain bad writing, in terms of science and of fiction.

Basically they too believe that the Star Baby is nonsensical and lazy.

Go read this and rejoice.

Read it. Liked the article. Liked how the one guy touched up how they simply screwed up with The Illusive Man, and how all the impact was lost with him and Cerberus. That's what I've been saying.

I don't know if they completely got the point, but as writers I do understand where they're coming from for the most part.

And there are instances of people gathering around and reading the same book, It's called Oprah's Book Club, and it's just awful.....

But dose that mean they are all sitting there reading over eachothers shoulders? No, I'm sure not. That's where a group of people are sttting around being read to, by one person. The way a person reads to oneself is a litle different, due to the fact that the readers intonation and use of vocal sounds can actually shade a listeners view of a certan passage. And I agree it's just awful. better to read the book yourself. you get more out of it that way. lol

The only thing in this article I didn't like was the statement about giving the fans too much control being the high road to disaster. Fair enough, but, with a book I'll never spend $60, and a book dosen't have DLC that you have to pay for, also, even though many people can read a book, you can't have a bunch of people sitting around reading the same physical copy of a book at the same time, (comparing to a mp) I think a video game which CAN be altered after the fact, and givin the the fact that a studeo really isn't in the business of losing money, fan control to a certin degree, should be paramont to keeping the fans comming back. At least that's my take on it.

Oh and thanks for the link Laterali, I did enjoy that artical. Image IPB

Videogames definitely are a different creature than literature. But I tend to agree with him, if you complelely bow to pressure from fans, the game would be an utter mess. Ashley's breasts would be 1990's porno size, Tali's hips would probably kill a man, and Shepard would probably be fist pounding and chugging beer.

The last thing I want is a bunch of fans putting too much input into a game. But there is such a thing as moderation, which these game journalists seem to forget about. To them, it's all or nothing, either we sit and eat everything the developers feed us with smiles on our faces, or we're ravenous dogs cutting into the game with gnashing teeth.

There's actually a middle ground, where developers say, "What would you like to see in a game?" Or "Where would you like to see this story go?" They gather some opinions, weigh them, find useful stuff, and use it and or tweak it to fit the game. Them using ideas for the game isn't curbing their artistic integrity, it's collaboration that creates a product more likely to sell, which no matter what they say, is their number one priority.

Out of all the different forms of entertainment, video games are best positioned to be fixed, altered, changed after release. They already have a way of implementing it through DLC. The only thing holding it back is the backwards thinking that changing it would somehow make them less of an artist.

I'm going on too long with this, and I'm sure there's a point in there somewhere......

I see the point. I totally agree with it. I don't want fans as a group to make the games, as I want to trust the writers and designers that are paid to craft it. But they do have to take the feedback from the players. Especially in a medium such as video games, where the player has control as they're going through it.

A certain amount of that trust actually comes directly from the idea that they would take input from the players. When they produce something that causes such a large disconnect between the two parties, and have that simple medium to fix things like DLC that you mentioned, the onus is on the creators to make sure things work. Once they begin to act that their way works regardless of outside opinion, that's when the trust is lost.

Wow, did I come off like that before, cause if I did I apologise to this community as a whole, and hope I'm forgiven. I don't mind a desenting opinion, but to basically tell us all to "move along", and call our discusions "cr#p", I feel is a little bit rude don't you think?

Too many movies and most games are all flash.I would like more depth please. Now while I will buy the Avengers when it gets to disk,I am also getting some older movies to offset the CGI fest.Wish I could find a new game with loads of depth and less/no CGI.Last good one I found(and I could miss a few) was Iron Hearts. Can't have much depth with a multiplayer cause everyone wants to be central to the story, and the bloody but standing tall(not dead,if your dead you don't know you won) HERO.
Will it's 1:06 a.m. Night all and play nice.Don't lock the thread.Do hold the line and your wallet.

DA:O= like 12 playthroughs as a Human Female Rouge, and one for each of the other Starters.... What can I say I like being a Rouge, but I'm having fun as a Mage
DA2= I've no clue how many times I've gone through as a Rouge, but I've gone through at least twice with a Mage, and no times as a warrior....

DA2 warrior from my experience was a button mashers delight, I reccomend using a 2 hander over a sword and shield. I missed the option to duel wield swords as a warrior from Origins.

I missed the option when the combat had some strategy like in Origins.

Um.... I've always found that there was a level of strategy in 2... mind you it wasn't all that great when compared to 1... or some other strategy games that I can think of, like Age of Empires~!

That being said, my friend, please use spell-check. Your posts get a little hard to understand and follow (I mean no offense, but I do like to read new peoples posts, and yours are a tad hard to fully understand).

At any rate, welcome to the line. There is cake to the left, along with all manner of other supplies. Ammo and weapons are to the right, down the hall, 3rd door to the left.
Again, welcome ^_^

Considering the relative specifications with skills and skill trees unique to each character, there really should have been strategy involved. But I didn't really see it on any legitimate level. I don't know of any kind of game like this where you can roll without a tank nor a healer in your party. But I did here. So very easily. Things like tactical positioning and the such were pretty much lost. You just go in there hit attack, and throw in a bunch of special offensive mage powers regardless of whether or not your teammates are standing in the direct line of fire.

In fact the only real strategy I can remember was contemplating whether or not I waste my mana on killing the last 2 guys in a satisfying and quick way... Or waiting to see if there will be a 7th or 8th wave of generic baddies that are ready to randomly and without warning spawn that I should save it for.

You could really throw together whatever team you wanted regardless of glaring holes and weaknesses. But in the end, I was thankful for the fact that I could take whomever I wanted regardless of skill and win, because there were only 2-3 people I that I did not hate and didn't mind having tag along.

Played through the entirety of GR:FS singleplayer, made me remember what good games should end like...

...or at least it should, that one broke the "laws of good storytelling" a little bit as well, but to be honest, it was only one little ******. This is what I find funny, other games that have bad endings usually have something making up for it. With ME3, I can't find it anywhere.

What upset me was the fact that I'd played ME2, and so the final mission was like treading on ice for me, I didn't want to f**k things up and have to watch a teammate die in front of me. Did I have any form of this at all? Nope. The actual content in the game is far inferior to the last few. I played ME2 first, then went back and then forwards, and even though I went back, there were still a load of things that made up for the fact that I already knew what was going on. ME3, however, has none of this, it has a on-par singleplayer (overall with the ending excluded) and nothing to really compensate for the Charon-class "what the f**k!?!" bomb dropped on us.
