So we can't get the ending we want after all?

Well I guess he figured out how to make them irrelevant after all!
“It’s still something that’s unprecedented in the industry,” Hudson said, adding that the feature makes the series unique. “There’s no other way to show that your choices have impact if they don’t also have impact that carries across from one game to the next.”
http://www.straight....e-aims-surprise

EDIT: EVEN BETTER!!!!!

According to the executive producer, it would have been “disingenuous” to have players make choices that affect the first game, and then return them all to the exact same state for the next game. “To me, it’s part of coming through on the promise of interactive storytelling,” he said.

Obviously customer satisfaction is related to sales. Otherwise there would be no reason why anyone would strive to make a game that players enjoy. If we were all really this stupid, we would buy any game made regardless of its content. That is not what happens. In the real world, customers choose products for purchase based on their expected enjoyment of that product and game developers advertise games as something that players will enjoy. Negative experiences are not forgotten and color a person's receptiveness to the next title, just as positive experiences with ME1 & 2 have colored people's receptiveness to ME3 in a positive way. When people who do not enjoy knowing that nothing they do can keep Shepard with his crew under any circumstances or save the mass relays under any circumstances, they will feel disappointed and quite probably angry because they expected a positive experience where hours and hours of effort created an outcome that they in some way wanted.

I for one am not buying this game at full price. I will buy it used and cheap because it is not a product that is worth full-price to me (it's worth a little bit, but nowhere near $60). BW will not profit from me in any way unless they release that better ending DLC. I'd jump on that in a heartbeat.

To be honest with you I don't think they're too worried.  What's already clear from all the stuff that's been released is that it's nowhere near as bad as Dragon Age 2 and word of mouth isn't gonna totally kill sales.  It's still a very good game regardless if some people are pissed about the ending.  Plenty of people will buy it anyway, knowing full well that they might be pissed about the ending.  It's gonna sell millions.

Of course that’s not true. In fact, Mass Effect 3 is all about answering all the biggest questions in the lore, learning about the mysteries and the Protheans and the Reapers, being able to decide for yourself how all of these things come to an end

But it’s always optional. We would never take stuff out of the core game and only have it in DLC.

(no ending DLC then for anyone who thought about it)

There's also zero tolerance on abuse toward staff & moderators. Which is kind of suspicious given that it is happening right before the release of ME3, and the endings suck balls

But, besides the completely asinine ending, people had a somewhat positive view of ME3 after having played it.

I don't think the initial wave will be that bad, but once a few start saying it's bad, others will nod their heads and join in, creating a big storm regardless. Kind of like DA2.

The sad truth to all of this is it doesn't matter, the only way Bioware and EA would care is if everyone cancelled there pre-orders and nobody bought the game sadly that wont happen. Too many people are not reading the spoilers and the ending so nobody is understanding how bad Bioware screwed up the game. I just wished they would comment on something here.

Actually i've seen quite a lot of interviews lately of him looking really tired and just barely holding on. I know her put his life and soul into this game and he believes it is great. I really do appreciate that he has put so much of himself into this game and I know that everything up intill the ending will be wonderful.

Despite me not liking what I know of the ending so far, I still appreciate that he has worked so hard on the series. I highly doubt that he really hates the fans so much as to purposely put an ending he knew we would be upset with. I do not think ME3 will suffer from a lack of effort on any level, but rather from a lack of me not enojying the ending I truely wanted from this series for about 5 years now.

I respect everybody from Bioware. I'm not here to unleash a "****storm", nor I want to pillory somebody. I was very concerned about the exorbitant abuses against Jennifer Hepler and don't second that. But I was very engaged in the Mass Effect series too, I've spend a lot of money for all games, the strategy guides, the dlc and the soundtrack and now I'm very disappointed about all the broken promises and announcements. I've paid already for the Digital Deluxe Edition from Origin and decided not to cancel the order, but I wish to communicate my feelings. Spending money and time for a game that doesn't satisfy me is a luxury I cannot afford. So I hope for a turn from Bioware in this affair. :)

It may have been a challenge to come up with an ending to this first Mass Effect trilogy, but Hudson is satisfied.
“I’m really excited for people to be able to play it, because I think there’s things in there that people aren’t expecting,” he said. “I think they’ll be delighted with it.”

To add some further thoughts to this, if people are not happy with the doom of the Normandy and unavoidable destruction of all of Shepard's relationships, they will return the game quickly and warn their friends that the game is "not very rewarding." This will both put new customers off and flood the market with cheap used alternatives to a new full-priced version of the game. Any sensible person would buy the available used copy at a lower price. Destroying replay value with all down endings guarantees a sizeable supply of used discs will be on the market soon to rob BW of many new sales.

I honestly believe that what will happen will be a case like DA2, where the pre-orders do sell, but the sales will dry up afterwards.

I can't accept Joker running for any reason. Nor can I accept Ashley letting him, Liara letting him, or any of the other team members letting Joker run. Everything to this point on Joker - the guys stays in the fight to the bitter end.

However, having said that I am entourage by the Krogan guy's Prima Strategy Guide that offers new ideas and new intel. Encouraged by the YouTube audio of Anderson/Sheppard to me clearly AFTER the Reaper war.

then you are saying all the people who said the liked AND wanted a grim ending over a happy one are hypocrites because if given the option between the two they would pick the happy ending.....or else they would have zero problem picking AND feeling satisfied with the ending they proclaim to prefer regardless of the (according to them) inferior alternative

You want to complain about an ending that you have not yet experienced, you will have to deal opposition to your point of view. I'm willing to be mocked, derided, and insulted for my point of view. It's the internet. This is not the Iranian Social Network. You are not the king of these forums or this thread. You have no authority. Understand?

I fully agree on everything you say. I have spent time and money on this game and I feel like since the game is all about how we control shepard's destiny, at the very least we should get an ending that the fans want. People say "oh ME2 on had 2 endings" but really it had tons of endings because you could save or kill the people you care about and then BE WITH THEM.

Isn't that audio from before Shepard faces the final button to press in-game? It's not really the end. It's before the ending.

Not attacking you nor anything, I'm really just looking for a good explanation for this, if I can get one I might just be able to actually mostly enjoy the game. =]
