Xoi completed a NG+ playthrough, same endings. And then there's the fact that the data simply isn't there.

Believe whatever you like, and hope for whatever you want, though. Just be prepared.

Lol - Xoi used his choices in HIS games to get the same result - surprise! Thanks - but lets see what BW has in store for unlocking and add on content not now available to anyone including him.

Well... the Prima guide looked pretty official. Maybe the fanciful rumor of a new ending in the patch is true after all.

For all the people saying that the spoiled ending is 'realistic' and that we shouldn't want a 'rainbows and butterflies' ending, I must ask: why not?

Going into the third game the Mass Effect series is a story about a cyborg zombie super soldier, who has made a career out of doing impossible things, leading a galaxy of diverse aliens and against an invasion of space mecha c'thulus. Said super soldier's allies includes a guy who blocked a gunship rocket with his face and lived to tell about it, one or two members of species that has no natural life span, a sentient computer hooked up to his ship, and more than one person who got superpowers from radiation instead of cancer. Mass Effect was never a 'hard' sci-fi series; or a gritty, 'realistic' war game. Mass Effect is a space opera all about big damn heroes saving the day at the last possible minute and shrugging off impossible odds.

So why is it so wrong to be upset that after getting the metaphorical eqivalent of Star Wars and The Empire Strikes Back, we learn that our expected Return of the Jedi goodness seems to have been replaced with some generic 'war is hell' grimdark finale?

So why are some of you so offended that others want to be able to choose to take our cyborg zombie super soldiers and kick the space mecha c'thulu's asses, than fly off into the sunset to find more evil to kick in the daddy bags?

Exactly that's what legendary heroes do! That's what I expect from this game - the artsy crowd got their Christmas Tree favorite color send off. THey have absolutely no complaints yet these are the very same people coming on here and then attempting to belittle anyone esle's wish.

Sheppard AND his crew are legends - this is exactly what has made Mass Effect to this point in time. They all rose above their individual existance and became the stuff of video legends that every other games from this point will be judged. That is until BW delivered this turkey! Hell they made us care about the characters - no mean feat in video gaming history. We the masses cared and THIS IS exactly why we are so upset!

I find it "interesting" that the people who revel in the dark endings are also reveling in the sadness those endings cause in others.

Exactly - their glee could not be more vicious.

Speaking for myself, I want a slightly happier outcome for Shep&LI to be possible in at least one ending, and I also feel empathetic towards others who would like an alternative that appeals to them, whether their specific wish is my cup of tea or not. I'd rather everyone could be happy, or at least happier, without having to agree with my tastes, per se.

Strategy guides have a horrible track record of publishing misleading or wrong information. A Google search will tell you that much, if you choose to ignore game data vs. what's actually printed.

Enjoy.

Why would something that important be based on keeping a gd fish alive?? That's crazy talk.

Actually the fish part is about getting a "special intel bonus". The thing about the "secret ending" is something completely separate from that. Idk how those two ever got mixed into being one thing.

At least some of the other LIs can headcanon an ending.

Because people molded the two bits of information into one theory that would support their personal beliefs rather than accept the data that's been presented :(

Not so! There's a possibility floating around that the teleporting squadmates is a bug, I don't know if this is certain or not but if it is then you'll just have to take Laira with you to the final battle (probably not pick destroy because that blows up the Citadel) and she'll probably be safe.

Now those who romance crew members on the other hand... :crying:

ME2 LIs besides Garrus and Tali and Thane.

And maybe Jacob. I don't know what happens to him.

Also, what is going on with the Prima guide?

So the ony way to get a bittersweet ending is to start a NG+? What about the choices from Mass Effect 1 and 2?

Ah, okay. Except didn't Xio do a NG+ run?

I hope that there actually is an ending where Shep and his crew or LI are somehow able to stay together at the end. I just feel very doubtful and will wait and find out for sure instead of buying the game on faith in something heretofore unseen by anyone who has already played the game...

Wait, what did I miss?

I AM KROGAN came in with pictures of the Prima Strategy guide. According to the guide, there is a special surprise for people with ME2 save files that have the Prejak Paddlefish. We have import the ME2 save file that has the Paddlefish, beat the game, play the SAME file (I'm assuming the same unless it can work with another save that contains a Paddlefish) for the NG+, beat NG+, the game will reload after the credits, and you go talk to Liara and she has special intel.

Will it help with the endings? Is it something that unlocks a secret ending? Or is it just some stupid easter egg? No one knows.

Honestly, it has to be something bigger than a codex entry or an easter egg. The fish is 7500 credits alone. And why would we have to do all that playing just for a codex entry or a small easter egg?

Sure, if you flatout choose to ignore the evidence that there is no NG+ ending, then really, doing whatever you want will net the NG+ ending.
