So we can't get the ending we want after all?

It's actually a valid question.

We already had character developments and relationships - the player knows what they're going to lose and what is at stake.
The juxtaposition of this child into the endings really weakens them more than they were already.
Edit: Not to mention the dialogue itself is pretty bad and is very cringe worthy - hell, it almost makes Jacobs romance look like a quality romance novel.

Sorry kid but Shep's 85% likely to be dead. No more stories about "The Shepard".

Poor Legion... Showing that the Geth were lke other sentient beings trying to find their own way was just an "illusion".

Nope, the kid represent the idiots at BW. You want represnt the future then let Sheppard, his L1, and his crew get a chance at life - now that's real hope for the future!Rob_K1 wrote...

Why you have no sense of humor?
Oh, I have a sense of humor alright. But forgive me if it's rather lacking after trying to convince people they should wait and see, when they're content to only see things how they want to see things. It's like picking up a book, flipping to the last page and reading one or two sentences. Then forming an unchangeable opinion of what happens.recentio wrote...

Lawl. The kid at the is the kid from the beginning. He's talking to his grandpa in space heaven.recentio wrote...

Shouldn't
be posting this as I swore I wouldn't and even though this won't do any
good, the kid makes sense now. Though it should have actually been
partly obvious anyway even before running across what I have just now.
And
no, I'm not elaborating further. I'm sure others explain can explain if
they've been privvy to what I have, but it become clear near the game's
start why the kid's voice appears at the end (two possible reasons
actually). But again, context is everything as is playing the
game.
Just tell us, man. I'm assuming it's a running
theme through the game that builds up to the heart-warming message that
having children in an inbred colony makes galactic destruction and
forced separation from your loved ones no matter what you do a nice
feeling...except it doesn't.
Cheers for reminding me why I shouldn't have bothered.
It's a reason you should bother. To prove us wrong so we'll want this game again. Honestly, I would love to be wrong.
Fair enough and this is the last time I'm trying. If this doesn't help, then nothing will.
Shortly after leaving the Citadel, he has a nightmare where the kid is present and once Shepard reaches said kid, the kid gets set alight and disappears basically, while there are sounds of Reapers attacking in the background.
You can take it two ways: The 'Guardian is trying to contact him'. (And I only mention this one because someone else mentioned it, but I think it's highly unlikely)
Or
The kid represents all of the people being lost back home, the generations of the future that are being wiped out and ones he cannot save. Following on, that can apply to the ending sequence too, as the kid would represent the future generations that he and others have been fighting for. Plus, Shepard could relate to the kid. So, that's why the Guardian appears/sounds the way it does to Shepard.
Of course, I could be wrong, but I would say that based on that, it has credence for why the Guardian would sound the way it does. It appears in the form that Shepard could most relate to.
Edit: Seems the formatting is being messed up for some reason.

Wait. So the kid being the Guardian is just more pretentious artsy bull****? Wow just wow.
Yep. The ending and indeed the kid from start to finish, is trying to force the players motivation into something.
It might work well for others, but I think most adult gamers already can create their own reasons for motivation. They don't need to have something dangled in their face telling them why they fight or whats at stake. They already know - and they certainly didn't need it for the last two games.

I was someone who actually really like the DAO epilogue endings. Everything was wrapped up.
I would love that they went through and created dialogue and animations for all those endings, but the choice between text epilogues and no epilogues is an easy one for me personally.

But the whole 'artsy bull ****' as so eloquently put by Canned makes me realise enough is enough, as does Abertalad's reply. And for the record you may want to watch calling 'BW idiots'.
There's very little to no reasoning to do here. People are just dead set on hating things.
Edit: You'd be surprised though, Icinix. I remember the posts from people saying 'why should i care about earth'? I mean, we only live on the planet even if it's not the version represented in-game.
