As for the guy that said most people would like this ending. You're wrong.

You know, what: I think there should have been a ending where, if you made all the right choices across all the games, you could get a video of Shep with all the possible LIs to the following music:

Not going to bother reading your uninformed opinion, then. I wish more people would read first, THEN post. :(

Really? You expect people to read 400 pages of posts on forum to be able to post there? GBGriffin you sir have no life! I haven't gone through all 400 pages either but I read enough to know whats going on. I also read enough to see that you are the only person who has about 3 posts per freaking page. My god do you live on this thread and what is your motivation for the nonstop pessissism? It makes sense that picked a volus for your avatar since you seem completely self absorbed and seem to like dealing with shady black market information.

People like you need to remember 2 things.

1) assuming these were the only endings, and im not saying they are, this is biowares right to end THEIR story how they see fit. They are the author, and no matter how much you like their story and payed for it so far doesn't change that. If you dont like it dont buy it and spare us the crying for facks sake.

2) It is not as easy you think to create a game, on a limited budget and timeline, that has the variety of endings that take every single variable into account. They dont just wave a wand and make the game appear, there are technological, production, time, and money limitations that go into a project of this size. Bioware is a business, who regularly has their has their products stolen by pirates, and they have to make a large profit in order to continue making great games. Bottom line they have limited resources and time to get this done and they do their best.

Do you honestly believe they aren't doing their best to create quality entertainment? Just because you don't like how one their stories end doesn't mean they did it on purpose. Maybe they made a bad choice, but I assure you your in the minority and most people will like the ending of mass effect 3 when they have played the game IN ITS ENTIRETY. Now stop being a disgusting little troll and learn to live with other peoples opinions that differ from yours.

With the gramps/kid epilogue scene... are we supposed to swallow some bs that ME1/2/3 is just some old guy telling his kid a story? This disappoints me more and more as I dwell on it.[/quote

This^
If that's they case then My  planned Earth born, War hero playthrough from ME1 to ME3 just went down thr drain.
  like somone said here on BSN Fallout New Vegas had 60 different Endings, and BW couldn't come up with at least 8 or 10, the more I think about this the more I come to realise that they just literally showed us the middle finger.

That they will! My Money is on the Tali thread being the first one to become an inferno of firey rage.

I bet Liara will be close by fallowed by Ash, Kaidan, Garrus, Thane, MIranda,

Anyone care to wager their bets on which character thread will burn in which order?

Mmh...

Tali, Liara, Garrus, Kaidan, Ash, Miranda, Jack, Thane...

Ah, I'll just wait and enjoy the show.

It's a bit sad really- those support groups have been discussing those characters since ME2 (some groups like Garrus/Tali's since ME1) and after ME3 they will pretty much wither and die... becuase It's pretty much impossible to support a character who is dead or stranded in nowhere forever in canon.

The effect on the fanbase will be pretty bad. I can see it having a large negetive impact on Fanart and Fanfiction too.

The game that we were all hyped out for, died but true Mass Effect 3 will be in my <3 for ever.

LOL....me too dude~ I'm destroying everything....screw it.....but I have hopes to NOT get Normandy's Forever Alone Inbreed Colony in Jurassic Park v.2.0 ending....

so what ending did yall want

I think we all fail to admit that we favor endings with unsaid answers. I think people would be happy if the reapers were defeated some how, the player finds out some epic truths, then the Normandy crew flys away after commander shepard says something like "The storm may be over but, we must raise what was from our ashes" (or some ****) Then it shows the normandy flying towards some larger ship or planet with epic music. Don't lie, that sounds legitimatly good.

At this point, I'd take it.

If there is no, Fallout 3 fix up or something then I guess I will just write my own ending on how I would of wanted it to go and live with that. I love Mass Effect and I'm not just going to dismis it because of this ending. You would think writing fan fiction would please you but, I don't think this is one of those times.

Then again, actually playing the whole damn game and seeing things(the in-betweens) for myself might change my attitude a little, maybe, maybe. I can only hope.

More then negative... Even the speed at which DA2 went down the drain will pale in comparison, and the backlash on Bioware (but also a bit EA) will be enormous, to a scale which BW's reputation will be nigh unrecoverable. BW and EA might buy-off the media (remember, the same kind of 'reviews' came in before DA2, and we all know what happened then) beforehand, but in case players dislike a game, word spreads way faster then PR can keep up with.

I'm expecting people to do a little research of their own so that the same arguments don't keep coming up again, and again, and again...but, no. People just like to start posting by disregarding the ongoing discussion and going "Well, here's what *I* think", as if it's some new bit of important insight. Hint: it probably isn't.

1.) This argument has come up before. It's not a new claim. It's been addressed before.

2.) Make however many excuses you like to defend them. That's fine. I believe they had the resources, and simply made poor decisions.

Again, if you think that my issue is solely the lack of a happy ending, then you missed the point of my arguments and similar ones that have been raised before. You literally proved that people tend to post without any context for the ongoing discussion. For that, I thank you.

As for the minority vs. majority, I think it'll become clear one the game launches that newer players won't mind the game, and miht enjoy it, but I don't expect the same from fans who have followed the series from its launch.

And I love my volus. <3

This is the beyond awful . I keep waiting for someone to show us another ending or something that would have made our investment in this game worthwhile. Five years of investment in to this franchise and our choices are whipped away . For some half ***ed ending .I never expected shepherd to walk away with out making some hard choices . I would have sacrificed shepherd to save his LI and crew and it would have been a hard choice to make but one that I would have made . But this bs is just to much to bare . B w better do something to calm the coming storm.

Because, if it isn't a bug, then it's a poor writing / design choice. It remains to be seen at this point.

Relinquishing all technology and regress to the stone age? That's pretty much the worst part taken from BSG. But at least in BSG the robotic cylons had a happy ending.

Sentient organics should remain in their primitive and superstitious ways or be doomed if striving for better - what a great revelation.

Sorry, but it already happened.

All those media giving comment? They got 'early access' in return for positive reviews. IGN, PCGamer, and a lot of other 'big' reviewers are known to do that. Why? They want to have the first review. An journalist here in the Netherlands wrote about it in PC Gameplay - it's becoming a trend by the gaming industry: 'Review positive with at least 9/10 scores, or no review-code for you'. EA, Activision etc are known to do it.
