So we can't get the ending we want after all?

Sounds like damage control.

Or sounds like what they've been saying since ME1.

They've never back peddled on ME. Pretty much everything has been all or nothing and they knew not everyone who got sucked into the games would enjoy the story outcomes. Hell, the concepts were pretty clear to me from the start. I diddn't anticipate that Bioware would be ballsey enough to go through with the "No Happy Ending" outcome, but it was certainly difficult for me personally to see the logic in one.

And if you don't beleive me about ME forshadowing this, I'll point you to the part where Bioware pretty much says it.

"We will achieve it ourselves. The Process is as important as the result."

Did Bioware ever say what the mission was suppose to be?

It was just a device to get everyone capable of stopping the Collectors off the ship.

That is some lazy story writing.

Where are these endings you guys are talking about? I'm.......more than a little curious about them.

A guy from Something Awful forums and someone who got a Space copy said there's three main endings and three levels for them: Bad, neutral, good.

Merge: Everyone become half-organic, half-synthetic. Shepard dies.
Control: Shepard controls the Reapers but is trapped on the Citadel forever. Shepard dies.
Destroy: Shepard destroys Reapers and Mass Relays. Shepard can live in this one.

No matter what ending, the mass relays supposedly blow up or stop. The normandy supposedly crashes on a random moon/planet and they colonize.

Some believe these are not the endings.

But if those things are not true wouldn't they say something? Man.........maybe I shouldn't have looked.

Why would they waste the time confirming or denying the endings when we're six days away from truly knowing? And the devs have lied in the past. I'm taking someone's advice and I'm just going to question things.

So the endings are in the leaked script and they match up with the info

Again, I could easily read the script, claim to be someone with a space edition copy, show "proof" by photoshoping my BSN username to a fake copy of the game or a picture of an already created photo, and say "Yes, the endings matched up to the leaked script".

I think all of this talk about a "secret ending" is giving Mac Walters too much credit. This is the guy who thought it made sense to load Shepard and every squad member onto a shuttle to go on a phantom "mission" just so the Normandy could be invaded by the Collectors. He doesn't care if things make sense as long as it's dramatic.

I have to admit, that was the most awkward moment in ME2 for me at least.

Lol that one doesnt make me feel awkward, just makes me shake my head every time with 13 people getting onto a 12 seater shuttle for a mission to nowhere!

I do wish a dev would pop in and at least give us a vague response as to whats going on/whos genius idea the endings are

They were pretty quick to jump in when Klace spread wrong information about the romance options just a few days ago.

Just sayin'.

Confirming/Denying Romance Options is hardly larger than Confirming/Denying the endings of the game.

I work my ass off in ME1 and 2 only to get f*cked over and my envisioned ending wrenched away from me in ME3 just for the sakes of 't3h DDRUMAS' and a 'bittersweet ending'?

I'll gladly give Mac Walters something bittersweet alright. It's called my fist in his face.

Agreed

I hope theyre is some ending no one found yet, I want my happy ending with Tali and Shep retiring in a game franchise I have sunk several hundred dollors into.

The way I expeirenced that was you leave for a mission, but before you can do the mission the collectors attack and you're called back so nothing happens.  Kinda lame, but not as bad as a mission in the shadows that not even the player knows what happens.

Ah, my loved BSN.
Someone wants choice, someone who has the choice they wanted comes in, claims moral superiority and as such a superior and far more enlightened being that they are, demands said person be denied their choice.

Don't ever change gaiz.<3
That said, I'll wait for the game, try all endings and then see how I feel about them.

It amounts to the same thing: spreading wrong information.

But I'm not here to argue about this. We'll see in a few days after all.

I agree with the fact that is amounts to the same thing, but correcting a small spoiler as who are your romance options is not as big as possibly confirming/denying one of the biggest spoilers in the game. But I digress - you're right. We can only wait.

It honestly makes me think that all these leaked scripts are fake from the beginning. If BioWare really wants to keep everything in such a secret then why these leaks are still hanging there? I know it's hard to shut down every website that has them, but... seriously, guys.

Also, I found around 3 versions of leaked scripts. I haven't read them completely, only some separate parts, but overall they looked unfinished, fanmade even.

Just speculating. What do you think of it?

Thousands maybe millions of lives lost(I have not read the entire script or leaks just this and that), worlds scarred forever. a race of beings that have lived longer than we can fathom who we stopped from doing their stuff twice.

You expect a happy ending? With no one having to sacrifice themselves for the greater good? Hell even with the Normandy surviving all the people who died in the process makes it far from a "happy ending".

This has probably been said in some form already, but I've got to put it out there for myself.

Bioware, if this mess about the endings is true, you just defeated the whole purpose of this being a trilogy with choices that are meant to matter. In short, no matter how you try to spin this, you guys just ****ed up. This series's story had the potential to be so much better, and from what I'd read in the leaked script about everything leading up to the ending, I was starting to think Mass Effect was about to go out on a high note. But now that we know the endings all are so similar in these major ways, you killed it. Bioware, you killed it. Congratulations.

Be honest with yourselves guys we knew from the start that ME would not have a happy rainbows and sunshine endding. When the technology of every race is based off what their foe gav them how could you hope to see an endding that allowed everything to go back to normal?

You know, I don't think I'd be as bothered with the endings if we got a SOMEWHAT borderline happy ending.

As it stands, you get a few varieties on the "we're totally screwed meter". There is no "Shepard is alive and helping rebuild" option. I don't mind so much that Galactic Civilization is destroyed as we know it, but you don't even get the chance to have Shepard alive and helping his crew on the world they are stranded on.

I think more people would be satisfied, or at least not as pissed that Shepard isn't even there to spend time with his LI/crew. Instead, we get dead or forever alone.

If this thread is true, than its an open ending, a new beginning, open to imagination, which is very cool.
