Can someone confirm that their are no more vehicles parts in the game and Shiala is just an Email.

There are no conversations for her in the tlk file, but her VA does appear on it.

Thanks everybody for such quick replies. Now I hear no more heavy weapons? wtf was bioware doing..........

who said no more heavy weapons?

Still waiting for confirmation but here http://social.biowar...scussion/19898/

You have to pick them up now.....apperently

I was under the impression that they confirmed a bunch of heavy weapons that will be in ME3 I also could have sworn I saw you have on on your back.

That doesn't mean "no heavy weapons". That just indicates heavy weapons are no longer really a class of weapon to their own that Shepard always carries.

I honestly don't get all of the angst and whining over the endings.

I made this post near the start of the thread and it's still just as valid now.

Did you really expect that Shepard and crew would be able to fight off the Reapers without consequences for themselves? As if it would resolve in a neat little package at the end like a fairy tale, or where the entire crew holds hands and sings "kumbaya"?

At the end of the day, BioWare best know how to blow us away and emotionally engage us with their rock solid, masterfully written, majestic stories. I'm sure while everyone likes to complain, do you really want a Mass Effect 3 to have a bland, lifeless ending?

Where's the drama in that?

Personally, I think it's a great ending, a completely logical conclusion based on the plot progression (that we've seen so far) and it doesn't feel artificial or forced at all. Most of you are just angry because you won't be able to live happily evar after with your LIs.

Well guess what, Mass Effect is not about a choose-your-own-romance-adventure sexual wish fulfillment mini-game, with appalling elements like shallow fanservice and over sexualization. It's a gritty, mature, adult story which will surely advance the medium in ways we can't even imagine.

And even if you still have unwarranted and entitled gripes over the endings, Mass Effect is a ROLEPLAYING GAME!

Just roleplay that everyone was able to survive and live happily ever after or something. Or that the colony thrives and everyone gets along without any hardship. Or that some other technology is invented which allows them to leave.

You people are too used to games like CoD and other junk that the mainstream industry puts out. Use your imaginations!

After all, isn't that the point of Mass Effect?

BioWare knows this, and they crafted an entire arc spanning three epic games around that concept. If you're too unimaginative to realise that, and ungrateful enough to spit in their faces just because you won't have a white wedding with waifus in glorious HD, then really.... you're just too used to games like Gears of War, which Mass Effect is nothing like (despite what the trolls say).

And we see that you have no argument at all, given your continuous spew of insults.

Wait, wait, wait. Just a second here "...you're just too used to games like Gears of War..." That is amongst the most ignorant things I've ever heard. Tears of War isn't ultra happy super perfecr. At all. End. Everything dies and goes to pot and Earth is left in a nigh irrepairable dump. Furthermore, Gears of War gives you pretty much no choice and is honest about that. Mass Effect gives you choice, now we're complaining about the loss of choice.. so we're too used to GoW?

Ehh...?

I'm struggling trying to finish Mass Effect 2 after hearing how utterly bad this game will be

The exact same here - I'm really, really strugging even trying to get a little interested - I've been stopped for four days trying to find any interest - what a horrible mess BW made of this entire series. They utterly destroyed the plability, which I used to love doing, entirely. THIS IS the destruction BW created themselves for themselves with their own product!

THE RELAYS ARE A PRISON OF THE REAPERS

IN WHAT WAY?

With the Reapers dead, how are the Relays anything more than a useable technology?

Or are you concerned with the empty symbolism?

Same here I started playing main Shepard andsoon I heard about the endings I jsut stoped and started playing some other games.

Same here. I can't bring myself to play the older games. Like how I couldn't play DA:O after hearing (and seeing) how bad DA2 was.

Maybe... maybe the space edition isn't the full game..... Maybe retail copies have the full game.

Doubt it. Why would they make a "special" version of the game? I doubt EA really cares about spoilers.

Because all EA cares about is selling games  And they said they been working on this ending for 8 years. Why would they give out the ending before they release date. It would be like if George Lucus told us that Darth Vader was Luke's Father before The Empire Strikes Back came out.

Lucas didn't even come up with the idea that Luke was Vader's son until well after ANH was in the theatre and he was working on TESB.

So ok. One question.

Why does everyone seem to think that Control ending is only a "stop it for now button" ?

Doesn't Shepard become the sole mechanism that controls all actions of the Reapers?

Mostly relays are linked to a single destination point not unlike rail lines. Sure you have the small omni-relays but their range is extreamly limited. People are going to be working on other forms if for no other reason than to not have to take the wildly round about paths some of the curret relay lines have.

Or, he's been spending late nights on conference calls with the Board of Directors explaining how they're going to do damage control and what other PR they can do to try to maximize revenue before enough "it all ends up the same, rent don't buy" word of mouth gets around and starts eating into sales.

You have nailed the more probable scenario.

Just read a new article of c-hud defending the From Ashes fiasco  by saying they had finished ME3 months ago.  So what can he be staying up late for?  It's not "finishing the game" because that ship has sailed.  It's pretty clear it's needing to do come up with a damage control plan because that fans would be pissed with the ending stunt somehow escaped them.

I seriously think they tried to "go for the gold" and create an ending which would be dramatic enough to be nominated for an Oscar.  But they fell flat on their face instead reaching too high.

(and because we dont care about our virtual waifus)

I see this a lot and I don't get it. Yes, people are attached to the Normandy crew, by this point in the story you should be, what is the problem with being upset over their fate when it makes no sense and can't be changed?

There is nothing bad about it, but these people decide to hate on this game, compare it to DA2 (ugh), and give all sort of fallacies to justify why the game sucks, all because they love the normandy crew.

Imo its ok to be sad about the lost of the normandy, i wont mind if bioware changed just that. But overall the endings are brillant. Be angry that you finish your romance the best way possible but dont hate on the entire game for it...

BTW i was really angry when i first heard of it cause my LI (Steve) will always stay at the normandy, i would love if bioware saved him but the rest of the game is pretty awsome

Sir or madame, you have a very low standard for "brilliant."

Sir

Well i say brillant because its by far one the best things were gonna get from video games for the next 10 years. (perhaps not THE best, but compared to 95%  of games out there this one will be amazing)

1)  "Best from video games" is a low standard indeed.

2) There's nothing that special about the way the ME series is turning out.  The ending, including the "choice" is a contrived trainwreck of  a mashup of stolen concepts from different genres and authors.  I'm not even sure that Bioware bothered to file the serial numbers off.

Well, forgive me for not memorizing ME1 script but he said something like this...

"...you follow the path of the Protheans, using their technology. Thus you follow the path of the relays, the path of the Reapers."

not exact, but fairly close

OK, and how does that make the Relays inherently dangerous, once the Reapers are eradiated?

Someone at Bioware. Someone must have thought up all the endings, because they all equally seem to suck.

That's the really cruel part. For each of the LI's, they bait you with a happy ending. You get to establish that these people expect to have a future together. But it looks like "house on Rannoch" will be replaced with "starving to the sound of banjo music" while Liara gets to watch the people she loves die over and over again for the next nine hundred years.

There's enough negative implications to the Relays being destroyed, what with doomed colonies and stranded heros in the Sol system. Why did they have to do this to the Normandy's crew?
