well...Casey even confirmed to GI that there would be post campaign play in ME3 but it looks like it was BS
What? I remember that here were many posts that said the exact opposite, that there won't be a post game in ME3.

As a youtuber said on the video of the ending, Sovereign was right: Reapers are an incomprehensible race. It's difficult to understand a race that looks so badass and evil and acts so stupid.
Non organic life wiping out organic life to prevent them from being wiped out by non organic life. Sure. We all buy it.
And of course Joker running away to the Charon relay. Does anybody know why he does that btw? He's not the type of guy to chicken out from a battle!
Nothing in this ending makes sense. Guess it will make headcanon much easier...
/rant
Sorry. Need to calm down.
Actually that's one of the few bits I can understand. I heard the ''Guardian / Catalyst'' dialog and basically implies that this was the best solution they could think of and it states that they leave the young species alone so they don't wipe out all life after all and they ascend the advanced races into Reaper form. It says they left humans alone last time it was here.
I'm guessing that an AI singularity happened in the past that was so bad and all resources were going to be stripped to the point there would be nothing left for organic life to rebuild itself, that the last of the surviving organic race at the time had no choice but to ascend themselves into Harbinger so they could kill these AI off and allow organic life to rebuild itself. It seems to be implied that the Reapers / Catalyst were waiting for a species to come up with a better solution that could eventually see a way around it.
In that sense it's not a terrible idea but it's hardly award winning, it's just ashame they played it so close to being a Deus Ex ending without focusing on the series strength at it's end (the characters) which the characters are what make the story more interesting than what it is.
If you look at it from the perspective that a terrified species that was on the verge of losing everything due to their ridicolously advanced technology decided that all organic life was going to end up eventually advancing to this point, then it's easy to understand how they would set up this cycle as the only possible solution they could come up with out of desperation and paranoia.
And how it would change them, how they would see themselves as the end of evolution, the pinacle of life, as gods, as one combination of many minds in each Reaper calculating logically and perhaps somewhat indoctrinated themselves by the protacals they have set up.

Yeah, at this point, I think that the guide just got it wrong. Again, the data just isn't there and doesn't seem to be forthcoming.
Anyways, it's been a pleasure, folks. Thanks for cushioning the disappointment over the past few days.
Enjoy your launch!

Also the list provided is only if you destroy the collector base in ME2. There may be additional endings for saving the base.

Doesn't it seem odd that the guide (at least the past detailing the endings) gets everything else right, including something as subtle as the Paddlefish, and yet makes up a "secret ending"? Nobody else finds that suspicious? Perhaps the same glitch that causes faces not to import properly is causing other game data not to register. If the game doesn't realize it's a new game plus it wouldn't give you the secret ending. I mean, it's possible or even probable that it doesn't exist, but we aren't 100% certain at this point.

What do you think the reaction will be from the general gaming public?
Do you think we'll be drowned out by Gears fans squeeing over the epicness of it all?
Well, if they are not Mass Effect fans, they will probably go "Hey, look at those stupid ME fans...."
But if you mean in our fan community, I'd say 75% disappointed with the ending, of which only a few will go to the forum and complain. But it will be enough to raise a lot of hackles with the BioWare staff. I'd expect locked threads everywhere.

See, TOTALLY get that. So I understand where BW got the idea... but if the Reapers are GONE at the end... why would their old trap matter?
Symbolism. The reapers "gave" us the technology if were gonna be free from their genocide we must make our own path. I understand you would prefer a pragmatic choice but the symbolic aproach makes sense from a literary point of view.
Think of it as a "coming of age" for the galaxy, you have to leave your parents house to make a future of your own (although these "parents" are genocidal aliens i this case)
Oh, symbolism.
LoL.
Oh yes. Don't rely on the stuff the evil guys built.
Would be a nice thing to implement.
After WW2, how many scientists and engineers, who used to build V2-rockets were being sent to the united states and russia?
How many prototypes, built by people who were forced to do so, dismantled to construct new weapons?
I've got no problem with such a philisophical aspect of purifying your way of development.
But I doubt this approach for a franchise, at least if its done this way.
Trapping major parts of species in the sol-system, with no meaning of getting such an amount of food.
Earth is scorched, you can see the wonderful sunflower-field being turned into burned ground.
Even if you had meanings to feed people who are still left on earth, how would you handle the supply for the remaining soldiers from the largest assault ever made?
You know, technology doesn't always outright explode if you let it work over the capacity it was made for.
Capacitors as we know them do, if you ignore their limits, yes.
The relays could have started to degrade over the course of days, weeks or even months, becoming less accurate in bringing you to your destination until they finally just shut down and fall apart in space.
Enough time for every surviving ship to return to their homeworld and start rebuild.
A chance for a badly injured Shepard to follow the distress-beacon of the crashed normandy with a rescue- or supply-ship.
A possibility for a happy end.
Not to disgard the endings we've seen so far, some people seem to like them, but I think, "epic" is more than a bunch of colorful explosions and the philosophical implication of reaching to the stars and falling down again.
Or leaving old boundaries.
I think Deus EX HR managed to deliver such an ending in a very coherent setting.
And though I admit I haven't played ME3 yet, the leaked endings don't fit into the universe we were allowed to create with our choices in the past two games.
