You may love the endings and still ask for a different one which you will secretly love too so you still keep looking like a badass and though gamer, while secretly you can go all sunshine and bunnies. We promise not doubt your badassery, ever.
So we can't get the ending we want after all?

Doesn't it seem odd that the guide (at least the past detailing the endings) gets everything else right, including something as subtle as the Paddlefish, and yet makes up a "secret ending"? Nobody else finds that suspicious? Perhaps the same glitch that causes faces not to import properly is causing other game data not to register. If the game doesn't realize it's a new game plus it wouldn't give you the secret ending. I mean, it's possible or even probable that it doesn't exist, but we aren't 100% certain at this point.
Well that could be a possibility.

Actually that's one of the few bits I can understand. I heard the ''Guardian / Catalyst'' dialog and basically implies that this was the best solution they could think of and it states that they leave the young species alone so they don't wipe out all life after all and they ascend the advanced races into Reaper form. It says they left humans alone last time it was here.
I'm guessing that an AI singularity happened in the past that was so bad and all resources were going to be stripped to the point there would be nothing left for organic life to rebuild itself, that the last of the surviving organic race at the time had no choice but to ascend themselves into Harbinger so they could kill these AI off and allow organic life to rebuild itself. It seems to be implied that the Reapers / Catalyst were waiting for a species to come up with a better solution that could eventually see a way around it.
In that sense it's not a terrible idea but it's hardly award winning, it's just ashame they played it so close to being a Deus Ex ending without focusing on the series strength at it's end (the characters) which the characters are what make the story more interesting than what it is.
I... guess.
But hearing Sovereign's speech once again is painful.

Sorry completely unintended - let's try this again. YOu got what YOU want - please help the rest of us get what we'd like. I am happy for you - it would be even better if you helped us get as much satisfaction out of this as you no doubt get from your ending. Thank you.EremesGuile92 wrote...

The endings are fine as they are.. Who cares if its a bittersweet ending, thats just how it is.. I personally thought a lot of the endings sounded cool.
I think you put your own post within my quote.. o.O or put words in my mouth.. XD

Has the "secret ending" been debunked by another player, or is this just heresay. Because I'm most interested in a secret ending, even if it is just an extra line of dialogue or text?

Maybe since people won't be replaying for the perfect import data for the next game like with ME1 and ME2, Bioware incorporated a way to deliver more replayability.

Ever since ME2 we've all been complaining that Bioware would have to pull one mother of a deus ex machina to get themselves out of this story in one piece, and now that they've given us a realistic ending we're complaining some more? Can somebody explain to me the leap in logic here?
Since the end of ME2 it was obvious, that Bioware will invent deus ex plot device - because in ME1 and ME2 developer never provided player with even a hint to how galaxy can survive reapers invasion (there were "beings of light," though).
Personally, i am OK with desu ex endings. Even with "space magic", to some extent, cause as one great sci-fi writer said "any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic". But i , as many people here, am not OK with Sheppard's and Normany fate. Far from it.

Yeah. I assume all the negativity will be herded into a single thread, just like Woo did here. That'll be nice.magnuskn wrote...
But if you mean in our fan community, I'd say 75% disappointed with the ending, of which only a few will go to the forum and complain. But it will be enough to raise a lot of hackles with the BioWare staff. I'd expect locked threads everywhere.

Only that with 6 (or 7 with the secret one), they might accomodate all tastes. I've been around for almost 50 years and there are books, movies, games, tv series and comics that do not always end lightly even when the good guys win.
Plus, RL don't usually end well for heros. In the most known avenue of South America, 2 days ago, a 33 years old nuclear biologist who worked for the good of the planet, doing her usual route with her bicycle in the proper lane, got the attention of an angry and ignorant bus driver driving on the wrong lane for him. He threw the bus at her, she fell and another bus, coming on the right bus lane, crushed her skull. Big loss for the planet.
