So we can't get the ending we want after all?

In a nutshell, the idea that creations (the Geth for instance) will inevitably become stronger than their creators (the Quarians for example). We have seen this already in Mass Effect - the Geth were able to push the Quarians off their own planet, and so are stronger.Karrie788 wrote...

The technology of the Relays is so advanced that organics rely on them instead of developing that level of technology for themselves. The Reapers have ensured that the Citadel is the heart of government, and that the Relays are the basis of galactic society. Without the Relays, every species is seperated and all the easier to destroy. And with government being in the first location the Reapers arrive, harvesting them is even easier.Karrie788 wrote...
Ok, question.
Why in the world did the Reapers build the relays and the Citadel for organic life to find them?
Thanks. That makes sense.
Sorry. I'm still trying to figure out the logic behind the ending and the Reaper's motivations.
And as for the Reapers' motivations, do you mean the singularity?
Yep.
When a created race becomes stronger than its creators, conflict will always occur (or so the theory states). The creators may attack out of fear, or the creations may attack to eliminate a threat. Either way, it is inevitable.
The Reapers feared that one day an organic race would create a synthetic one strong enough to entirely exterminate organic life. So they created the Cycle - civilizations are given time to rise up and eventually form a galactic society (which is wholly dependant on the Relays and the Citadel) which is eventually extinguished before they can create a synthetic species powerful enough to wipe out all life (the Geth, while strong, probably wouldn't be able to kill every species in the galaxy). The Reapers then harvest the organic species, giving them 'immortality' in Reaper shells and giving the next bunch of species their chance.
In this way, organic life is allowed to continue but technology is never capable of creating a synthetic race powerful enough to wipe out all life. The reliance on the Relays creates a technological plateau (which is why humans were able to match up to the Turians despite joining galactic society a thousand years later).
This also explains why Sovereign hated the Geths' devotion to it. It could also explain why it started a schism within the Geth - a united Geth would be very powerful, but divided they become much weaker.
Not all synthetics are hostile - the Geth only attack organics that infringe on their space; they never actively attack organic worlds. However, peaceful synthetics may still be attacked by organics who don't trust them, or because they are morally/religiously opposed to synthetics. War is basically inevitable, and the Reapers believed the Cycle was the only way to prevent the singularity while allowing life to exist.
The brutality of the Reapers indicates that they have strayed from their original intentions though.

Just in case, that maybe someone already aware of this information.
Can we finish ME3 without loosing any party members during the game? I am not talking about Normandy ending (still hope that this is not 100% unavoidable), just the story itself. I (as many people) finished ME2 without any casulties in my squad, and would hate to see some inevitable losses among them in ME3.

However, all the characters that are permanent ME3 squaddies can survive I believe.

Online petitions are a joke. I think we have to resign ourselves to the fact that the writers at Bioware went a certain direction with the game. We may not like that direction, but Bioware is certainly allowed to express their "artistic talent".
We are trying our best! We are fighting the REAL REAPERS with whatever we have!

I certainly hope for some additional DLC to tie up some of the loose ends regarding the ending (well, canon "best" ending).

Yep, and we are allowed to tell them how much their endings suck and that we won't be buying their future stuff anymore, for stabbing us in the back. Everybody gets their freedom of expression!
Hey, I only bought every game of theirs since Baldurs Gate 2 and about 90% of the DLC for ME2.

They kept her face hidden even in the final game! Personally I feel cheated. Because it would require additional graphics data on the disc and this way future MMORPG will have Quarian face secret to reveal. Clever Bioware!
Screenshot PM please?
What screenshot? According to the forums her face is never fully revealed. That is why I am frustrated. Wish I could give you a screenshot.
Ah ok. Well, we haven't even seen that part. How it looks like I mean. Could be some parts visible.
In fact if I remember the post I read correctly if you don't romance Tali her face is semi visible behind her now broken mask. And she gives you a photo obscured by lens glare if you romance her.

There is also the secret ending for beating the game in NG+. The guide only hints it in one sentence:
"A secret ending is also available once you complete the game a second time"
It has been confirmed as false by Xio, doesn't surprise me seeing as it's a Prima guide.
So, because ONE guy in the internet told you, with no proof of his claims, you have to believe in him...
Seems legit...

People have seen the endings play out now on a stream. They actually don't think they're as bad as they seem, when viewed properly.
It was apparently the worst ending possible though, as the player didn't do much at all and went in with an EMS below 2000 I believe.
Who'd have thought it plays out better when not just listening to audio files and going off text summaries...?
I didn't catch the stream myself though.

Online petitions have merit - considering BW has been unable to stop the negative buuz all over the internet about the ME3 bad endings. No amount of BW PR can counter that - folks are actually cancelling their orders, other are merely going to rent. Many other are telling their friend by word of motuh don't bother. Eevn pirates are saying, which I read on YouTube this isn't even worth pirating. And with this on their hands - try selling ME products - believe me I wouldn't want to count on those sales to pay my mortage! MOreover, for the majority BW eliminated any interest in replay value of ME1 onward - BW did that to their own product!I...AM...KROGAN wrote...
