Well, I guess that's where they got there inspiration from. Nice find.

It's nto the only thing they were 'inspired' by.  The ending in it's entirety was pretty much ripped off from another source too.

No.

No no no no no no no no no no.

No.

No no no.

No.

No no.

(Really, sixteen nos?)

I do not want to play as Shepard Jr. That isn't a happy ending for Shepard. That's a RDR copycat mess where someone can't come up with their own ending because they're too busy trying be artistic.

Personally I'm mixed about the whole thing but.. after reading about what the original endings were and seeing the final ones... It leaves me thinking "Where was the leap of logic in the writing department?"

The new ones are so inconceivable, and although a few people can rightly defend it, you know things are really really really bad when most of the "spoilered" people loathe it. Can't wait to see what happens on release date.

Theres still a piece of me that hopes theres more.. but all I know is that heads are gonna roll on the 6th.

I'm finding all of this a little hard to belive. That ALL the ending are more or less bad, that our choices didn't ammount to anything impactful, and that they more or less kill the franchise buy setting a sci fi franchise back to the stoneage. A franchise they've confiremed they have plans for. Bioware, they aren't stupid... They've made alot of great games, 4 of there games are in my 10 fav of all time. (Both MEs, TOR, and KOTOR...)

There has to be more to this. I'll be dumbfounded if all i've read so far is true.

I'm just hoping there will be a different ending for people who import a save... but I'm pretty sure it's false hope

Have you guys seen this image yet?

Yes. It was circulating around back when people were hoping that the epilogue was a hoax.

Maybe BioWare got lazy and just used that wallpaper image for the epilogue.

CASE CLOSED!

Open and shut case my friend.

Shepard junior? The man in the epilogue isn't Shepard because there's no female version. We have no idea who he might be and there are theories ranging from descendant of the Normandy to just some dude who found one of those time capsules Liara sent out.

Xoisite (the guy who got the Space Edition) imported a Shepard. No difference. I'm sorry.

So the endings are pretty much confirmed to be non-original composed of "borrowed" artwork, games and other nonsense that we will dig up eventually. They might as well come clean and said it was a rush job like DA2.

NO! Sheppard deserves to live with his friends, his crew, and his L1. He's already suffered enough. Killed once, his crew taken from him, his friends turned their backs on him, the council treating him as a virtual traitor, everything he did treated as madness by the Alliance and by the Council, forced into killing 300,000 plus, his second crew taken from him, jailed, his ship taken AGAIN - Heck if anyone deserves a friggen break its Sheppard. HE put brought the galaxy together to fight this threat and its just about time those guys (rest of Galaxy) pulled their own damn weight!

Everyone, please stop the hate and just wait until you've played the game yourself. Then, let the hate resume....If it is required.

If anything needs to stop then it is posters like you adding emotion (like hate) to rational arguments. It doesn't work. :P

Great, so it's confirmed that no matter what the hell you do the ending will suck. How nice.

The fact that he potentially survives this entire mess sane is more than what would nornally be expected.

The notion of him living happily ever after just seems goofy.

Someone has posted the idea of playing as Shep Jr, I was responding to that.

Yeah, I don't even know what to respond to this... when exactly was the moment when Baldur's Gate 2 Bioware turned into Now Bioware?
Is it just EA that is to blame?

I think it would have been cooler to create an Arc ending where instead of destroying the Reapers and their technology Shepard is able to take a ship, with enough of each species to sustain a population, to a planetary system the Reapers won't be able to find/access, thus giving civilization 50k years to prepare for the next coming of the Reapers.

Then ME 4,5,6 could be 50K years into the future where civilization has been preparing themselves to defeat the Reapers.

Or they could give a solid set of endings that make sense for ME3, and let the story end there, instead of trying to milk to IP like a dried out cow for the next decade.

Shepard was spaced, suffocated, burnt up in the atmosphere to the point of looking like a burnt pot roast, impacted a planet and was still able to be resurrected. I think ME had already gone well past "goofy" with the start of ME2 so a happy ending is certainly a reasonable expectation.
