Wouldn't be entirely without precedent (cf Imoen's fate) but this late into the release cycle? I'm not buying it.GUYS CHECK THIS OUT! http://m.gamefaqs.co...35936/692911540

LOL Half way through you are forced to do a Historical Simulation where you have to storm the Beaches of Normandy and take out a King Tiger then fight a power armor wearing Hitler.
With nothing but a Portal Gun.

Sorry if I missed something, but does anyone know if the squadmates you bring on the final mission also get stranded on the unknown planet? Or do they somehow end up on the Normandy?
Them teleporting back to the Normandy is rumored to be a bug. We'll see on release.

Those are the same question. Normandy = stranded. And I don't think we know for sure yet... *crosses fingers*

yup, basicly ACTION MODE: COD gameplay all is auto dialogue;
ROLE-PLAYING MODE: ME gameplay huge amount of auto dialogue and dumb down 3 choices dialogue;
STORY MODE: just watching how game goes, without playing it LOL

1. I don't think a bad ending ruins a story- I'll use a movie I like as an example. I'm a big Disney animation fan and one of my favorite films of the Renaissance period is The Little Mermaid. Now I have a lot of problems with the ending becuase Ariel makes a very stupid choice and is rewarded for it. As a result, she doesn't go through a full character arc. However, I cant discount the rest of the movie just because i don't like the last three minutes. The music, characters, animation, and story (minus the ending) are all top knotch. I'm sure I'm in the minority here but a bad ending doesn't destroy a story but thats just me.
2. The game will most likey be very fun- I really enjoyed the demo a lot and I'm looking forward to multiple play throughs. If the gameplay is great than I'll probably like it enough to play more than once. It boggles my mind how people are willing to throw great gameplay out that window just because of the last part of the game.
Now we get to the controversial part, my opinion on the reaction. I'll try to be respectful as possible. Personally, I feel a lot of people are blowing this out of proportion. The game isn't even out yet and some are demanding Bioware's blood. Unfortunatley, BSN has developed a negative reputation acording to some other forums I'm a member of and tragically I can see why. I used to enjoy reading these boards (I'm pretty shy on the web) but the negativity is just out of control. A least give the game a try before you unleash the kraken. I bet it won't be as bad as it seems once the endings are contextualized.
I view video games as art and artists don't just create their work for others but also for themselves. This is how Mac Walters wanted to end Mass Effect and even if I don't like it I respect his wishes. Allright i'm pretty much done here so I'll end this by wishes everyone a happy Tuesday and good hunting.

Hate to derail the disscussion but I wanted to give my take on the endings and the recation to them. Why I don't hate the endings by any means they are a bit underwhelming. However, I won't judge them fully until the game comes out. Even if they are bad I'll be okay with that and I have a few reasons.

Is it known if one or more people have experienced it? (Out of the very few people who have the space edition, that is). And, is there a cutscene with Shepard on Earth after the final battle that may allow us to see who is left with us (assuming the issue is a bug).

so far only the "he is breathing" cutscene but there always could be an in-engine one

It is nowhere NEAR COD gameplay.
But yes, there is quite a bit of auto-dialogue... The bit's that I've seen weren't too bad, but I've not seen much of ME3 and the general consensus is that there is a lot of auto-dialogue.
All I hope is that the endings are better in-game than the half-assed descriptions we've been getting...
But that vid of the Guardian dialogue.... I don't have much hope.

I can see the connection. At first, Cave Johnson seems reasonable with great ideas. After time, however, his ideas start to fail and he tries to rectify his decisions. He ends up destroying his own company with his ideas, basically killing people because of how dangerous they are. He ends up putting Caroline into a computer... thus GLaDOSKarrie788 wrote...
