Let's just pretend DA2 doesn't exist and hold out on Occupying Edmonton until March 10th (when we can start flying in our European brothers and sisters to increase our numbers,)

I think it's all incomplete.  The leaked script, the guys play through wasn't optimal, and the prima guy just isn't telling everything.

The space launch winner goes by the user name Xoisite on the boards and he extracted all the files from his 360 copy to PC using PC software ME fans have been utilizing for years now. He couldn't find any alternate endings.

so wait are there 6 endings or 8?

According to Devs: 6
According to Xio, Tank, and Novem: 3 endings, with 3 different outcomes.

Everyone should have really expected this when one of the writers tweeted that the story is about the journey, not the destination.

I'll translate that for you. It means we know the endings suck. We're sorry. We hope you enjoy the rest of the game.

Ah, I was wondering if you'd heard about all this yet, Sky. Interesting analysis! :P

Well the rest of the cast gets their 'rebuilding on Earth' (except not) kinda finish, at least. Shep doesn't is all. It's kinda like how Adama decided to live in peace on the other side of the planet, except Shep at least goes down in more tangible flames. Except if he/she lives in which case... um... party time with Anderson, I guess. o_o;

I've known about the endings for a while, but I didn't realize the bit about the Normandy until just recently. I thought the endings were classy until I figured out we've been pigeonholed into being separated from the ship no matter what.

So, Shep isn't like, alone alone in the living ending, right? He/she is just separated from the rest of the crew forever? Shep will still have people around him/her? If that's the case, I can live with it except for one of my broSheps...he's only ever known loss his entire life (Colonist/Sole Survivor), and I know he wouldn't do any other option besides Destroy...but that would leave him separated from the only family he's known since Mindoir, and would force him to deal with agonizing loss under even bleaker circumstances. He'd put a bullet in his head, to be perfectly honest.

I think my biggest problem is...THEY CRASHED MY BABY. MY POOR, POOR BABY...That, and we've been pigeonholed. That's just flat out annoying.

I didn't know about the endings until last night, but the general consensus from all the spoiler group folks is that the bit about the Normandy wasn't in the leaked script. But the endings themselves were incomplete as of the time of the leaks so we knew there'd be more, and, well, it looks like there it is.

Shep will still have some people around him/her in the survival ending. It's all kind of alluded-to according to Xoisite but you need Anderson alive for starters, and it seems like Anderson has saved him. Earth, cut off from the rest of the galaxy just as everywhere else is, will still be a home for Shep.

I think one thing you might not be aware of judging by this post of yours, though, is that if Xoisite and the SomethingAwful play-tester are right (actually the SA guy says he wasn't sure and that he hasn't seen the endings in a long time now so he just tells people to trust whatever other people who have seen the endings claim) then the Relays are destroyed no matter which ending is chosen.

Which, yes, contradicts the leaks so a lot of people are somewhat skeptical on that front, but Xoisite has claimed to have seen all three endings now and he doesn't see how it's left open for interpretation, he says it's just a differently-colored beam depending on the decision you make.

The Q_Q'ing here is depressing.

"I can't believe that that BioWare would have these bad endings!"

I can't believe that children starve to death in Africa. This entire thread needs to go on whitewhine.com badly.

As long as there are injustices in this world no one is allowed to criticize anything!!

Seriously, STFU dude. People are allowed to have opinions and care about whatever in the world they want. I don't see YOU feeding children in Africa while simultaneously enlightening the internet with your particular brand of moron.

There's a difference between opinions and the way people are ****ing in this thread.  It's not the worst thing to ever happen.  I complain about many things.  I yell at sports and video games when bad dren happens while watching or playing.  I complain about politics and so forth.  People are allowed to have opinions, but the crying from some of these people is ridiculous.  "This will ruin the entire series for me."  It's no better than the morons that say the prequel trilogy "destroyed their childhood" and actually mean it.  Grow up.  You don't always get your way.

I have no problem with people saying "I don't think this is right."  "Well, these endings are kind of lame."  But crying, complaining, and ****ing because of "leaks" for a game that isn't even out yet?  It's ridiculous and it's childish.  People have the right to their opinion, but they also submit to being mocked when they act like little cry babies over things that aren't even frelling confirmed.

Just a thought, you know, but you could just wait a week after the game is out and watch youtube. Then you can judge if the game's endings are up to snuff. I'm sick of all the lies that are saturated into BSN, and the sheep that follow them without wuestion. There is no "certainty" about it. BSN needs to learn some ****ing patience.

Well looks like there are 3 definite camps that have formed after this latest leak...
i)The majority who agree that this is a horrible ending, worse than DA2 and a complete FU to ME 2.
ii)Biodrones who will flat out deny everything, or blindly worship whatever turd bioware throws at them disguised as story
iii)Then there are the trolls, who basically copy paste the previous troll "LOL WAT DIID U GUYZ EXPECT...PONIEZ AND COTTON CANDIEZ??

There's also the trolls who don't really care and are just stiring up the masses, or the people who think this is it, but hope there's more and argue that there might be, I'm in that last camp, I'll accept these endings if that's all there is and enjoy the game, but I kinda hope there's more and I'll wait to see.

Wait, Mass Effect = Battlestar Galactica?

So glad I'm not the only one who has arrived at this conclusion already.

Yeah, it's always had influences but this is pretty big, lol.

I at least wanted the Battlestar-type ending where everyone decided to build anew, including the major surviving characters, together.

We don't even get that. It's like the finale of Battlestar in ST's Mirror Universe.

This is the kind of ending I would have wanted. Shepard next to his LI and his squadmates as they look out over a ravaged Earth. No rainbows and bunny crap but no forever alone Shepard either.

Yeah, I got my info on the endings from the leaked documents, so I panicked when I figured out that the relays are destroyed no matter what we do. And they crashed the Normandy. SON OF A....

I've read up on Xoisite's posts, so I know that he's supposedly seen all the endings...but man, you'd think we'd have one at least with some glimmer of hope. I don't ask for bright rays of sunshine, just glimmers.

I think Shep needs to figure out how to travel to alternate universes and steal the Borg's transwarp technology. Yup. That's my new headcanon. XD

I like this headcanon. It understands.

I think the epilogue monologue (lol) kind of establishes hope, at least. Hope that future generations will find out how to re-establish contact with one-another, that is, not that Shepard gets to the crew.

Liara being the default flashback is hilarious. They've heaped so much favortism on that character that it is quickly going to parody levels.

I feel bad for the Liara thread though. They are going to get yelled at so bad.

I seem to remember another sci-fi shooter series ending after 3 games where, after saving the galaxy, the hero was stranded on a half-destroyed ship that was drifting towards an unknown planet on the opposite side of the galaxy...

Yeah, although in that one there wasn't a question of whether the hero was human, merged with synthetics or fused with a giant space machine.

Also.... at least the hero and "love interest" of that game were together. To make it more like ME3, The Chief would've stayed on the Ark while Cortana gets launched into deep space.

I still don't know why Bioware added the stranded Normandy bit and made the relays blow up no matter the ending you pick when that was not in the old leak script at all. If I beat ME3 and those two things do indeed happen I think all of us deserve to know why Bioware made such a stupid choice that they knew would ****** off the fans. I wanted a bittersweet ending for my main Shep, but I also wanted a good ending for my others, there is no good ending. It ranges from bitter sweet, to just down right depressing.

That gels with Novem.  Six regular, one NG+.
