LOL! Yeah, it'll probably take a solid week for the grim reality to set in.

This place is already depresssing, now it'll just be even worse.

Which is wrong, I mean Shepard's story has been 5 years in the making, we should all be eagerly awaiting the release not wondering why the endings are so terrible.

I was about 100 times more excited until I found out, so many crushed dreams.

When you really think about it the whole story line does seem like a fanfic doesn't it?

I mean I could totally see this whole plot in a fanfic.. sexbots.. everyone's bisexual regardless of previously established sexual identities... forced emotional connections due to clichees... arbitrary ooc angst of main character due to single event that really shouldn't effect them that much... space magic saves the day...

Yet here we are...just like we were for DA2....going through the same exact crap we are now "This must be a hoax...this can't this bad." -bout a week later- " OH MY GOD!? WHAT HAVE THEY DONE! NOOOO!"

Have to add to those who have been watching the Live Streams for some time. I've been watching one that started almost from the beginning and, thus far, I've watched the content for Garrus, Wrex, and Grunt and, well, the game is everything I wanted it to be and more. Incredible set pieces, amazing dialogue, fantastic Heroic moments and, of course, the story is damn near perfect. Which, of course, begs the question why would they write in endings that almost seem like they're from a completely different game? The idea that all of the main content in the game is rendered moot by those endings is just something I can't process. Once again I'm hoping beyond hope the "endings" we've see aren't everything and that there is, in fact, and ending which echos the ones we were given in ME1 and ME2.

Don't forget about the main character who everyone in the series just instantly falls for. Always need those in fanfics.

Aaaaand DA2 is the last Dragon Age I'll buy.

ME2 was the last Mass Effect I'll buy as well.

I don't even care to play ME3 anymore. I'll just watch the endings vids and some playthroughs. Maybe borrow it from a friend on PS3 sometime and play it a bit. But I'm not buying Bioware's games ever again. I'm sorry but the day I want to buy poorly-written fanfiction, I'll just go on some FanFic website and COMMISSION something that suits my wants --- at least then my choice will really have a weight.

Plus, there are always the guys at CD Projekt. I'd rather buy The Witcher 2 for the third time when it comes out on XBOX 360. At least I'm giving my money to a company that puts some effort into it.

I've been watching the stream linked from the spoilers group for about an hour. This game is fantastic.

That's part of the problem, you have a great journey and then a crap ending. While Bioware was quoted "It's about the journey, not the destination." it leaves alot of the ME1&2 players wondering why do we have to sacrifice one for the other? Since we are used to the idea of having both.

Video games are just entertainment, man.  It's obvious a massive amount of effort went into this production, and it's going to be very, very entertaining.  I'm not satisfied with what I've heard about the endings either, but they're really not that bad, and I'm withholding judgment until I actually play through it.

About the auto-dialogue thing, there's a lot of it.  But that's in addition to the regular conversation with the dialogue wheel.  The Zaeed/Kasumi style dialogue is also very well done and squad banter is great.  There seems to be a lot more dialogue in general compared to the first two games.

It's definitely no Dragon Age 2.  I really think the anger on these forums is way over the top.

Just to add to this, in the comments of the stream a guy who seemed to know all about everything said the magical fish ending is just a little extra clip that indicates that the epilogue is not the same planet that the Normandy crashes on but rather some planet where one of Liara's time capsules lands with the record of Shepard's exploits and that the Normandy has like 8 stasis chambers aboard near where Garrus hangs out on the ship. So a fanwank that the dextro's are in stasis while the ship is fixed and starts the journey back to civilization might not be 100% far-fetched. Still not sure what system they crash in yet... And (bad news) teleport is not a bug. Not sure if that confirms it as a "feature," though.

Please don't. Bad as this is, Bioware isn't actively using sexist character design.

That's why I never understood Liara's romance. Maybe it was from going to Feros first, but in my playthroughs my reaction to her was more along the lines of "Damn, woman, you do come on fast, don't you?"

Garrus/Tali were really the only characters I thought knew Shepard long enough to establish anything meaningful.

I've played the demo a few times and the multiplayer like a god damned boss and I have to largely agree with you. It's great. The start, the middle, the accessory parts -- they're fun and exciting. I never thought co-op multiplay could be that fun or that the powers could even translate to multi-play but there they are, and I love it.

Then I remind myself of the revealed endings and I have to ask, 'Why are you doing this to me?' As a person whose made a few playthroughs on the premise that each would have different resolutions, I have to wonder why regardless of what 'journey' I took I always end up at the same 'destination.'

It's like giving out treasure maps with dozens of 'X's only to discover that each treasure chest holds the note 'it's the journey, not the destination.'

The other 'endings' are minor variations on the big three we know about.

According to the leaks there's 7 endings total, but they're variations on the 3 main ones.

Seven endings: 4 for Destroy, 2 for Control, and 1 for Synthesis.

They all vary based on your asset levels (mostly), and only determine whether or not the Earth is destroyed/devastated/OK and Shep is alive or dead.

Oh yeah, in some endings you get to become a reaper in addition to ruining everything for everyone in an Orwellian nightmare scenario.

I've had mixed feelings about this whole ordeal of spoiling myself (started last thursday/friday). it seems like a choice of getting crushed now and then feeling the despair after actually playing thru the game, versus playing the game blind and then getting absolutely ravaged and unable to focus on schoolwork for the next few days... :(:(

Exactly. Some NPC designs may be annoying, but CDProjekt will be poison to me until they allow more customization. And I have no real patience for playing hetero romance options either, so...

That still goes against the claim "The ending won't leave questions unanswered." ... But maybe then I'll just head canon that Tali starved to death working on repairing the Normandy seeing as she'd be the only one capable.  Nah, that's just cruel.
