Plus, there are always the guys at CD Projekt. I'd rather buy The Witcher 2 for the third time when it comes out on XBOX 360. At least I'm giving my money to a company that puts some effort into it.
Please don't. Bad as this is, Bioware isn't actively using sexist character design.
Sexist character design in The Witcher? Sorry but that's just according to the established fiction by Sapkowski, who was in turn inspired by things like actual HISTORY.
But no sexist character design in ME? How about almost every Asari? Or, more recently, EDI? Why would a machine want to look like that and wear high heels? There's no 'LOGIC' to the way she looks, why would she want to look 'visually pleasing' or whatever the BW artists had in mind? Why did she have to look like a Sorayama painting?
Before anyone jumps at me with "IT'S INSPIRED BY METROPOLIS". Yeah, ok. But guess what, Robot Maria was built that way because she had to LOOK like the actual Maria to work against her. Why does EDI even look like she does? Why does she have the high heels? Those things get in the way of navigating around damaged terrain and rocky landscapes --- which are common things on the extra-terrestrial planets we visit in ME games.
There is NO logical, mechanical reason for EDI not to look like a walking Swiss Knife. She could be a hovering bot with several arms, a construct ready to face any situation.
But no, she has to have those looks because Bioware needs to sell to that COD demographic and 'drool drool waifu' players.
If that isn't sexist, and that isn't treating women like objects, I don't know what is.
