It should be called no more deep conversations, Story Mode is RPG Mode with easy as pie combat, RPG Mode is Action Mode with the 2 dialogue options and a sh!tton of Auto-dialogue options. And Action Mode is were you sit back and watch all the conversations and dialogue scenes play out as cut scenes.

But remember that Action Mode will not affect the RPG Mode in any way what so ever.

I had said this before I wonder how much dialogue was cut to get Action Mode to work. I'm sad now, this game is not even the same ME as ME1 and ME2. We don't get some great deep heavy conversations that can take up to 5 minutes to play out .

That's why the launch trailer claims that now is the best time to jump aboard the ME series at the end because if you've been playing it and a fan of it before well You gonna be mighty upset now right? this will no longer be the same game.

I will not buy any DLC because it won't fix the stupid autodialogue and lack of my involvement in conversations.
Wanna talk to Anderson why he's not the Human Council Member anymore cool it's all done with little to know input from the play as to how the conversation plays out

Wanna talk to Ash about Horizon cool it plays out with little to no involvement and input from you

The game is gonna unfold with little to no player involvement in driving the story and conversations

And all because they wanted to get the COD and GOW fan base.

think about it like this if the CoD/GoW guys like it they'll want to buy the earlier ones...then they'll complete the whole story and get on here and do the same thing we're doing now

I'd like to point this out that I myself am a HUGE Gears of WAR fan and have been since it came out in 2006, but I'm also a HUGE ME fan and have been since E3 '06. Hence my screne name Gears Effect.
I play both the game becuase they are 2 different games.
The fact ME3 is being reduced to a stupid simplified story mode to draw in a wider range of fans P!SSES ME OFF!
I LOVE ME and GOW but I don't want ME to become Mass Effect 3 meets Gears of War/Halo Call of Duty.
I play Mass Effect for the rich story, characters and the relationships and attachments I've built to them by having those indepth conversastions.
SO THIS IS A BIG WTF? BW has lost their mind in my opinion, I also have friends who ar huge Halo fans and Huge ME fans, and Huge Metal Gear fans and ME fans, and huge Uncharted Fans and Huge ME fans.
All of them love ME for the same reason it's rich story and player involvment and conversastions and it  being a very player driven game.
BW has just lost their mind and is doing what I have no IDEA!

I've only read a general description of the endings and there's something I'm particularly displeased with...I didn't romance -anyone- with my main Sheppard, only showing intrest in Miranda and Ashley but being female could go no where. Liara hasn't meant anything at all to me. I've treated her very poorly, including "I'll throw your ass back in that volcano" upon meeting her and don't think I've EVER taken her on a mission I didn't have to. Yet she'll end up being my default important person? Uhh no. Just no. She's not important at all in MY game. The whole thing with this was it was supposed to be YOUR game, whoever YOUR Sheppard is. Liara has had no real part in mine other than the forced ME 2 story of her having been the one that recovered Sheppard. I guess in the end that makes it an incredibly easy decision of who to sacrifice between my Shep,my crew or my non-existent love intrest that I never had any intrest in. So it fails in even building up to a difficult choice that was supposed to be there.

In fact in one of my just messing around playthroughs I intentionally messed up her ME 2 mission to see her assassinated in ME 3 as it implied. This has no effect now? She lives that long no matter what?

I wish it would of been Ashley/Kaiden instead of Liara (if you didn't romance anyone). I mean, wouldn't they be more important?

Right cause Shepard didn't already have PTSD from his knowledge of the Reapers, or having died once... or the countless people he/she's killed. Nope it was watching some nameless brat die that finally caused him/her to snap. Despite playing a Renegade Shepard who's left people to die, watched friends die, and in the case of Wrex had to kill a friend, I somehow made some emotional connection all because I watched a kid play with toy on the rooftop... Is my Shepard a closet pedophile?

Well of course not. We obviously all love the wonderful Liara.
Wonder if they lacked time to make videos for other love interests or they just didn't care?

If you didn't romance anyone I think it should default to the one you let die on Virmire, it'd make more sense that you'd have a lingering regret over their death than a forced friendship/romance for someone you didn't care at all about.

Which is what I mean. Have the crew member that died at Virmire as that person instead of Liara if you didn't romance anyone.... And if you did, have it be them.

Although I think the ending sucks, and I don't understand why the altered Keeper's signal made a difference and Sovereign needed to get manual control if there is a Catalyst AI onboard the Citadel.

I do understand the logic behind why a species would be desperate enough to ascend themselves into Harbinger and a horrifying nightmare cycle such as the Reapers. The first Reaper probably just about managed to destroy synthetics before they destroyed everything.

Some of you are missing the point there. Theoretically, organics will create synthetics that outsmart and outclass them everytime and strip all resources from the galaxy which would eventually kill off every last shred of bacteria so nothing to evolve from, so no organic life, ever again.

The only irony comes in that in order to ensure that the path will be predictable so that they can stop it everytime, the Reapers push organics down their own technology path which also lead to the singularity. To ensure consistancy and logic as opposed to taking a chance on organics developing a technology path that ''may or may not lead to benevolent synethics''

What the Reapers are doing is a makeshift solution because they couldn't think of any other way and doing their best to preserve the essence of what they destroy, which is ONLY advanced civilisations when they get to the point of which they are creating dangerous AI, they leave primitive ones alone. You get like up to 50,000 years of evolution before they harvest you.

Also remember that the Reapers were held back like 10,000 years too late thanks to the Protheans changing the citadel. Sovereign was forced to work with what it had including the Geth who were more easy to manipulate but it hated the geth - it was clearly stated by Saren that it didnt appreciate them worshipping it, that he was insulted by it. The Geth represent what ultimately becomes the singularity as they self build and self improve - they should never have happened but the Reapers weren't able to get there early enough.

I think there's a link to it somewhere like 10-20 pages back..
anyway Shepards chasing the kid through some dream forest and they're playing that piano music from the cut scene in the demo..
and you catch him and he dissapears.. and you do it again and he bursts into flames..

so Shepard, decorated veteran of countless missions/campaigns..
Who witnessed people being made into husks, had the knowledge of a race forcibly implanted, had to sacrifice a friend, sacrificed countless people in a battle with an unbeatable foe, was killed by asphyxiation, brought back to life and branded a traiotor, found out about the collectors, saw humans turned into liquid to create a reaper..

All that and the single thing that messe him/her up? A kid you met for 2 minutes dying in a quick explosion..
Never mind all the other people on that shuttle..

Yeah, it doesn't really make a lot of sense but at least they put some emotion in Shepard, unlike the previous games, when he had less emotion that Steven Seagal.

That's....... exactly how I feel about this. I mean, all the stuff that he has seen during the events of ME1 and ME2, a single kid is the one thing that completely messes him up. Not watching Kelly (if she was your LI) getting turned into liquid... but a single brat.

I didn't know that part either. God dang it my Shepard knows that countless kids died due to Reapers and he won't be worried about it. NO My Shepard is going to be worried about never getting to hash his feeling for Samara out and deal with the near kiss they shared in ME2, My Shep wants to know where he stands with Samara because the Reapers may kill them both and they may never get a chance to be open with each other on how they feel.

My Shep is going to be more worried about that dang Bartain Balek runnin around out there still and wants him to pay for the Bring Down the Sky events.

My Shepard would be more worried about a sh!tton more personal relationships and stuff that is unfinished than some dumb kid who told Shepard "You can't help me" and then the kid ran off and got killed.
That kid's not the only kid who got killed by the Reapers on Earth I garente that.
My Shepard lost his family on Mindoir to Batarian Slavers he don't have time to worry about the dumb earth kid he saw die, But speaking of Mindoir My Shepard would want to find out how Talitha is doing from "I remember Me' in ME1 before the reapers end things/

The Geth represent what ultimately becomes the singluarity as they self build and self improve - they should never have happened but the Reapers weren't able to get there early enough.

You know I've been reading up on the whole tech singularity thing...
And it just kind seems like BS to me..
There's no actual evidence of it.. it's a doomsday theory...
In the ME universe we've actually seen evidence of synthetics and organics living together in peace..
And the AI that have turned hostile do NOT seem capable of rewriting their base code to make themselves unimaginably inttelligent..
Not if three organics could kill them all in like 20 minutes...

So the creation of the reapers and the eon long cycle of genocide was the knee-jerk reaction of som nameless scientist of a nameless species that was afraid that theory MIGHT happen..

That is just messed up!

Someone probably already feels this way but I'm not reading all this so just in case someone doesn't I'd like to point this out or if someone does, reiterate it and agree with them.

Flashback is Ash/Kaiden if you romance them. Otherwise, Liara. Some developer issue given as excuse for not implementing other LI's correctly.

Yeah, it doesn't really make a lot of sense but at least they put some emotion in Shepard, unlike the previous games, when he had less emotion that Steven Seagal.

I think you mean personality, Shepard was able to display emotion in certain scenes. But now they've kinda forced a personality onto Shepard or at least a personality disorder.

Oh god, it's the Red Queen from Resident Evil all over again.
...
Wait, I hope the reason why they added the kid into the game wasn't so they could just have this happen. I bloody hell hope not.

No they added the kid so his quick and relatively painless death could completely traumatize Shepard.
Seriously, halfway through the game s/he starts having PTSD dreams about not saving the kid..
And then the telepathi AI that is Citadel uses the kids form to manipulate Shepard...

Hmm... didn't know that part. The whole dreams about not saving the kid thing...

God that pisses me off..

Don't forget, if you pick the Colonist background...

You were born and raised on Mindoir, a small border colony in the Attican Traverse. When you were sixteen, slavers raided Mindoir, slaughtering your family and friends.

The kid thing does annoy me, it seemed cool at first but I had no idea they were going to have dreams about it throughout the game.

It's like they tried too hard to build a connection to the galaxy when the most important aspect and connection to the galaxy has always been the crew, who they royally screwed over.
