No. At best, it looks like the intel is just a war asset. At worst, it'll be an easter egg or a waste of time.

It is interesting to note that none of the news sites picks threads like this up. I guess ME3 will be praised in the reviews and maybe this thing blows over. It feels unlikely (not impossible, though) that history repeats itself like DA2. Search for "Mass Effect 3" on Google News and nothing bubbles up related to the endings. Although I am impressed by the rate this thread grows.

This is about the endings but I am just throwing this in there. Yesterday I was talking to a friend and he didn't know why I was so nervous about there not being a more happier option as an ending. I am not saying the only ending should be a happy one but an option.

He mentioned DA:O and how the Warden dies at the end. I asked him if he did the Dark Ritual he said no (he had romance Leliana and didn't want to cheat) so I told him that if he did then the Warden would survive.

I can't believe I am saying this but in terms of the endings, DA:O may be better the ME3. In DA:O you had the option to survive and even become King or Queen for God's sake. The option to do that was there, and that option does not seem to be in ME3.

Just throwing that out there. No point just thinking about it.

ME3 and it's ending will probably be praised in all reviews, since it is most likely reviewed as a single game rather than a final game to the trilogy, since it's the natural entry point to the mass effect universe.

This... it is not like we are saying, get rid of bad endings and only put a happy one, we just one another option... not negating what is already there. And in my personal case, a "HAPPY" ending should be REALLY hard to get to be satisfactory.

Small pet peeves I have with current endings.. why the relays blow up with merge and control as well?  Does not seem to make much sense

Am I the only one annoyed by the NG+ ending (if real) and fish things? I mean, are they going to put plot reasons unavailable for some reason on a normal game?

I also find NG+ rather boring, I really enjoy levelling up the characters.

I don't mind a "bad" ending, just one that doesnt make me feel likei wasted time and money playing all three games.

I am, just confused. It really does seem like a large joke on everyone. I guess it isn't though. It's like one of those endings someone would write to mess with everyone but there seems to be so much evidence. I only have a single choice. Tomorrow I'll get the game, play to the best of my abilities, and hope to send out my Shepard (who I originally wanted to survive) in a most glorious way, in a way that makes me feel like he's a true hero. I don't see much point of him surviving now. Unless I find some greater ending I'm done will these games I guess. It's a shame this was my favorite series.

From their point of view this ending where all characters are killed removed all complexity of save variables and hence it gives them a chance to start fresh. My opinion is that they were scratching their heads of how to go about save variables coz it had become too complicated.Such an ending will remove any dangling questions as to the fate of the characters.Other reason could be that they deliberately ruined the endings due to certain reasons.

Let me see if I get this straight. If characters aren't brought on this suicide missions they die in the reaping. If you bring them along there's a possibility of survival but the universe gets reaped any way. Is Shepard survives certain characters on the mission die. Is that about right?

That and I have little doubt that Editors willl heavilly pressure reviewers to give it a good score considering the huge amounts of advertising dollars EA is dumping on this turkey.

So I have to cheat with Kelly and play TWICE with the same character to get that?

This is the kind of thing for dedicated players. But I don´t know how many fans will play twice the same character for that. On the other side, if we go by this thread, most of us would do it for a good ending.

Romancing Kelly doesn't not count as cheating. Even the ME3 import will recognize only the squadmate as your romance. For example:

"ME3 Import

ME1 Romance: Liara
ME2 Romance: No one".

ME3 will see that you only romanced Liara, not Kelly.

there is a bug that teleports Liara on the normandy for the crash scene even tho she is on earth (and sometimes died on earth) during the last mission

without that bug and enough EMS you survive, she survives and you are both on earth (rest of the nromandy is still stranded)

but, it's a bit better

That is the case with all squadmates you take with you in the end.. if it turns out to be a bug. We still haven't seen a high EMS video, we will know soon enough though. At this point, it is better just not to expect anything.

I know that...regardless it has to be a bug since...you know..she gets teleported there even if she is blown up.......
