I've been a loyal BioWare fan and they are the people who made KotOR the first RPG I played (thinking I bought a multiplayer hack and slash Star Wars game when I was that young) that surprised me and kept me into the genre.

I play all the games out these days, but my place is RPG's with story, and I loved the Sci-Fi environment... I wondered what ME3 would hold and after seeing the voice actor reveal trailer about how great this story game was I was even more excited.

Anyway, after new information for me has come to light...

These are the things I have now learned about this game:

Automatic dialog choices account for at least half of the game.
Paragon / Renegade is no longer a possibility but an absolute necessity in regards to choice.
Investigation and deeper character dialog is no longer present.
Character - Character interactions are reduced.
Atmospheric construction of locations is reduced.
Environmental graphic scenes are lower.
Combat-based gameplay is the new priority.
Skill-trees are set up to be similar to other combat-based games, not an RPG.
Endings are dismissive and while debatably logical, not satisfying.
Playthrough time of game is an est. 28 hours full, no longer 40.
Numerous issues from Dragon Age 2 (The FIRST BioWare game I ever hated) are transferred over.
Entire graphical redo's which destroy immersion of previous games in regards to character appearances and voices.

BioWare you are the only company that if they released something I bought it without thinking, not because I was a mindless drone, but because I knew you wouldn't let me down, and if you did, there'd be a ton of saving graces.

Depending on how I receive this game, I may never log in on this community again, and I feel that many others will follow the same path.

I hope you prove us wrong, but I can't defend you anymore.

It doesn't cover the endings, but does cover the fact the game was leaked... days ago.

But after seeing  THIS

It made me realize how much I wanted closure, how enthralled I really had become with this game. That honestly made me cry and I hate myself for it. Oh there's gonna be a lot of sadness.  Thane, Jacob... I also have seen a few people quite eager to romance Vega, who isn't a romance option...

If there were 3 chars I was expecting to die one way or anotehr were Thane, Mordin and Samara. one is sick and on his last days, the other 2 are VERY old for their species and also about to die. Could also add Zaeed to the mix since he is really an old man still playing merc.

I sometimes lurk in the Romance subforum just to balance all this negativity in here. I feel really bad for them. At least the Miri and Talimancers have started to accept it. The Ashley thread though...

The reasoning is clear to me at least.

They created a story ending that was emotionally unsatisfying to a large (more than 50% at a guess) of their customer base. 

Hollywood puts happy endings in movies for a reason. At the end of the day while a dark ending can be refreshing the vast majority of people can't/won't understand it. 

So in order to generate maximum profits they make an ending that appeals to the LCD of its target demographic.

BIoware believes its ME customers are smarter than that and expects them to grasp the implications of themes presented at the end of the game's narrative. 

This view is naive and they will get a black eye for it.

Why do you think there as a Forum Policy update just before the game released? Those that understand what customer service is like know how the mass public is going to react.

Perfect is subjective, for them maybe it means Shepards "heroic" death, for you it's something different, as for myself, well let's just say i have enough drama IRL that i don't need it in my games.

What i want to say is don't be surprised if majority of players indeed like the endings.

Yes..perfect is subjective. I myself have become ok with the endings. But the people who I am referring to are the people that, and I really dont want to stereotype, but want the 'fangirl ending.'

Like...these people are so excited to carry out post-game (like in me2) with their LI

And they are making it a huge point to do everything in the game to achieve this.


And Tali is kinda... either she commits suicide or dies of starvation.

This thread is highly amusing to read. The lesson?

Never, ever, make a sequel to anything. Eventually, the franchise will start to decay and turn into a zombie - or rather, this is what the fans will believe and say.

Anyway, I haven't seen any of the endings, but from what I've read about the merge one, it seems perfect for me.

By the way, choose 1-3-2 when talking to Tamoko in the Undercity and she'll leave in peace.
