It's a Category 5, for sure.
What should we name it?
So we can't get the ending we want after all?

You know I was just about to accept everything that I learned today on these forums...... then I read that quote. Why the hell would we make thes journey if the destination was great pile of crap?!?!?!?!??!?!?!?

To be fair, it seems like damage control about not naming the LI's before the release, not over the conclusion to their story. But it could be both.Bigdoser wrote...

I just can't believe how they've managed to screw eveyone over. The character threads on the character and romance forum have pretty much shattered, and by a week after release the forum will look like Earth after the Reapers are done with it.
The entire fanbase will be destoryed by this.
...WAIT, GUYS. OMG. Seeing how people are leaving BSN, r/masseffect, and other places concerning ME3, this is like how supposedly people start leaving the Citadel! Haha!
...Or they're evacuating for the ****storm. Either way.
The Garrus thread looked like it was on the verge of crying. I don't blame them, really.
Well, ****, they're really upset.

"It's not the destination-it's the journey." bullsh*t its the ending ,the destination is the most important part of an ending , they are trying some premature crowd control by feeding us this bull, i mean if they cant give us one happy ending its a slap in the face.DifferentD17 wrote...

I admit, I normally don't get pissed off about stuff like this. But the mistreatment of Jacob made me mad. Mad at videogames.

Anyone want to guess what category the incoming sh*tstorm is?
I admit. I bet it will be very amusing to see BSN tear itself apart over this. But I'm hightailing it out of here because BSN is already a horrible place to have any intelligent discussion.
Seriously, the endings have combined every single one of the BSN's rage buttons into one neat little package. It's the perfect storm; it's incredible!
Let the show begin then.

The hilarious thing is they just put Shepard with the Normandy, this wouldn't be happening.
But no. Headcanon must also be crushed.

Well their favourite character is going to drift off into space, never to see Shepard again, while simultaneously starving due to lack of dextro food. I don't really blame them for being upset.

Agreed.
Even with the lack of animation, DAO had better endings. It was epic and I felt satisfied after playing it. This just leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

DA2's mediocrity did enough lasting damage that it utterly poisoned the entire community. This is the perfect storm though, it's pretty much designed to be weapons grade rage fuel.
This place will burn to the ground and there won't even be ashes left when it's over.

This is true with the hyperbolic nature of all internet fanbases. Nothing Bioware could have done in ME3 would satisfy people entirely. They set their expectations too high, prioritize different aspects of the game over others and built their own narrative in their heads for the conclusion. Even if this game had 50 endings that ranged from Shepard pissing rainbows to licking Wrex and having a 20 minute toad-hallucination, a vocal group would come out saying there were too many endings and the "true" ending wasn't clearly defined enough.
The best thing to do is the separate yourself from it. Don't hype it up, don't fall into the group-think that props it on a pedestal, just play the game, enjoy it, and put it down. If you really liked it, it'll resonate with you, even if the ending is weaker than the journey. Star Wars may end with dancing midgets in furry suits, but that doesn't negate everything that got it there.
