This review is very well done, it does contain some very minor and vague spoilers, but it sums up what is so great about mass effect 3 story. Grow up people, reality isn't rainbows and butterflies, the reality of war is hell and sacrifice.

The thing with the ending is that its really off. Its bad by all standards. Seriously the entire civilized calaxy being harvested by the reapers would have been much better ending as long as we would have been presented with a reason. This ending is totally out of context, thats why it sucks.

From some of my understanding, this may be accurate.  My issue, more than anything, is the teleporting squadies.  If that was changed, so they don't teleport, then fine, they start a new colony, Shep is left with his LI.

My problem with the endings, and the story of this game itself is that...its a thrown together failsafe. The original plotline they had planned to use was much better in my opinion, even if it made little sense scientifically and even if those endings would not have pleased people either.

At least the storyline over the course of all three games would have been consistent and the switch from the utterly evil view of the Reapers would have been somewhat interesting given the real reason behind their actions. Foreshadowing is one of the most used literary devices. They did all that work to set it up and then scrapped it? Makes absolutely no sense.

Endings still seem alright, and teleporting squadmates still seems like a bug.

Anything else new with the topic.

I guess we just have to keep asking Bioware to give us more endings with downloadable content; which is a shame. :(

We probably can ask all we want... Bioware is ok with their endings... so are all the major reviewers.

It seams that the whole game is is een as kinda of "the ending"... and a saw the term "space-drama" fly around numerous times now, and dramas, per deffinition, never end good...

Nope. Tragedies don't have good endings. Dramas can, often in fact. M.

It's just amazing how a trilogy this good can have an ending that is such a letdown.

I actually created a forum account to post this, but something just struck me.

So at the end of 2, we blow up a relay, and find out that when a relay explodes, it does so with enough force to destroy the inhabitants of a solar system.

And at the end of 3, we... Blow up all the relays? Guess we didn't like those planets too much anyway.

This is entirely aside from the multiply stated "wait, so you mean no matter what I did I get one of these three endings where galactic civilisation as we know it is destroyed?" Egg on MY face for thinking hard about all those choices in the first two...

The destruction of the Relay in Arrival and the Overloading of the relays in this game are rather different circumstances. The galaxy stays intact, just set back for a time.

Well, now, I haven't got there yet, so I'll take your word for it, but it still smells funny.  I guess I was just hoping for my decisions to have had more weight than "200 points of Aliens!".  I carefully planned out two games of character decisions just so I could set up 3 JUST the way I wanted...  And it doesn't look like it matters much.  Heck, is there even a way to "lose"?  Can you go through the main plot and just suck so bad, and be so unready, that the Reapers stomp all over the galaxy, too bad?

You cannot design a trilogy of games where all of your meticulous choices have vast effect on the overall plotline, it just isn't feasible.

I do think the endings needed more variance than what I've seen, but sometimes people go a bit overboard with complaining over choice.

the ending i got has me wondering with the whole of dlc continuity i question if that depends on fan feedback

my shepard is a reaper so how would dlc work for that continuity wise?

im happy with the endings but its just a thought

Well of course.  Except they set out to do so, and for 1 and 2, DID so.  My gameplay in 2 was HUGELY shaped by my actions in 1, and it was wonderful; I haven't talked to anyone who's had the same gameplay experience as I did.  Now it's kind of knocked down to (as someone said) Deus Ex level.  And I loved that game, don't get me wrong, but...  Not the same thing.

I would assume that DLC will operate like it did in Dragon Age. You'll load your game to a point before the final battle.

In the final battle for example I had Liara and Garrus with me. When the ending rolled around later, those two were on the Normandy when it crashes. That doesn't make any sense considering both of them should be dead near the portal to the Citadel, or at the very least, still on Earth.

With the overall plot changing very little, the choices didn't matter much beyond face value then either. The decisions I've made in ME3 seem very similar. It's a reasonable approach to something of this scope.

basically DLC will sit in the main body of the game and not after it. So your ending has no effect upon the DLC.

could be a glitch honestly

only glitches i came across were some enviormental issues on citadel with a black screen  some lip synching issues as well and a few frozen load times
