I would assume that DLC will operate like it did in Dragon Age. You'll load your game to a point before the final battle.

is that good or bad?

i never play dao so i wouldnt know

Good from a design standpoint. You can add whatever extra scenarios you want before the final battle, not much restricting you.

Theoretical post-game DLC would have to be something very specific, and only available to certain players.

i just got the shepard is a legend ending after the credits rolled

i got the pop up screen saying continue the legacey in dlc

Wait, WHAT?  That wording is... somehow hopeful to me... :innocent:

i believe and im not sure you gain that message by merging with the reapers wich is the paragon ending

when you make the decision one side will be blue and the other will be red

also i believe your reputation meter does make the choice for you as well because i was mainly paragon and like 2 % renegade

so post game dlc would be before the final fight right?

the dlc could include the elcor , hanar, vourcha to be in your war assets for the earth fight

This is entirely aside from the multiply stated "wait, so you mean no matter what I did I get one of these three endings where galactic civilisation as we know it is destroyed?" Egg on MY face for thinking hard about all those choices in the first two...

Yep, that's the big issue for me.  Destruction of civilization so complete that everything we ever knew goes down the drain, is not, by any means, a satisfying ending. Not if I haven't got a choice about it. And I absolutely hate Dark Age endings. People have mentioned the Deux Ex parallels. Yeah, I see them too, except that we're getting three variants of the New Dark Age ending.

Foreshadowing? The Biotic God......he took a nap and destroyed the universe later.

When I found out about the ending it ruined the entire series for me. I no longer have a good time in any of the games now. I don't even feel like I'm playing a game, I feel like I'm walking to a funeral. Also, sending synthetics to kill us before we could make our own lethal synthetics? Not only is that stupid, but what happened to sovereign's speech where it clearly showed Reapers hated organics and considered themselves superior. Bioware, you can't fix the story, but please, fix the ending.

The game is so great...

Why, BW, just why did you do this to us?

This isn't the thread for it, but it is a dark age. You should go look up what actually happened in the dark ages.

I shall constantly quote this until Bioware gets the idea.

It will be a lot harder to play the other two games now with such a depressing ending. I hope they make some new endings with downloadable content, or at least an epilogue with Shepard alive or something; but I'm not sure they really care too much since Bioware hasn't replied to anyone's criticsm even though almost everyone who played the game is upset about the ending.

They should get it through their skulls soon enough. If we have to pound it in, we will.

I hope they do something about it; they've been upsetting their fans a lot lately.

I think I like the endings even more because they caused such a hilarious melodramatic response

It bears repeating.

I have no issues with the story nor with the decisions we make at the end. And I'm not all that upset at Shepard's fate. But the fate of the galaxy is a different matter. They pulled a fictional universe I was emotionally invested in out from under my feet. And Shepard's demise in five of six endings combined with the fact I have to commit genocide to get the sixth, combined with the hopeful farewell conversations - that feels like a betrayal.

Give shepard a break bioware, he saved the galaxy many times and i want at least a semi-good ending. Also i want an epilogue with your LI.

It feels like all those choices i made in ME1 & ME2 are worthless, cause everything in the end is resolved by "space magic", only the colors are different. I would normally NEVER do/ask this, but i want a good ending for shepard and i will pay those who make it. After that i am DONE with mass effect, and i will not buy your next mass effect game, whatever it may be.

Would you all be appeased if Bioware just made a statement that they left it open so everyone gets what they want? If people want something happy, then that is what happens, etc.

I just want something not inexplicably random. Party members suddenly being on the Normandy and the Normandy being in the Relay are unexplained. It's not even hinted at why that happened. Then there's the fact that they're "in" the Relay, when Relays do not even work that way. It's instantaneous.

It feels rushed and it feels forced. Like they came up with where they wanted it to end "crashed on planet," but couldn't figure out how to make it happen. I'm fully in agreement with "it's not the destination, it's the journey." But it seems like they skipped part of the journey.

A LI epilogue/a fix to the teleporting squadmates issue would make me happy/make the endings more bearable, I play ME mainly for the characters and such and to see them get screwed over whatever I do is just terrible/wrong, garrus has been making me laugh a lot with some of his lines this time around, but to know him and my LI (tali) are going to get screwed over takes away from what fun I have been having

Agreed. I want to see a happy ending with the love interest where everyone walks into the sunset; not an ending that makes me feel depressed whenever I play this series.

I stayed up all night and finished the game. After the ending and thinking about it, I kind of figured out why it happens. Mass relays are reaper tech, so I destroyed the reapers and might be stranded on a planet/system without one. By using the relays you develop along the paths the reapers want. Sovereign even said it. I see them being stranded is a way to rebuild organic civilization without reaper influence (eg. mass relays or other tech).

Oh and nice plot twist there with the Illusive Man.

Would you guys be happy if the added DLC where shepard won the lottery and bought his/her LI and in ground pool and expensive puppies?

Would my single Shepard get the pool and puppies all to himself?

Yes.
