Im sure they do care.. Running a game company isnt a democracy between developers and fans. If I write a book and people hate the ending...well dont read it. Its not your place to tell me what I can do. If you want things different...join a game dev, write and get hired by one ect. I see games as a art...and last I heard nobody told Da Vinci..hey, I hate that redo it or I will get a mob with pitchforks to camp in your yard until you do.

This is all so rife with ridiculous notions.

You're right, a writed can produce whatever type of work he'd like.  But if no one likes his work, I hope he has a steady separate income or an early retirement plan.

Obviously no one here can demand they do anything, but the concept of supply and demand comes to mind.  The longer they continue to dissapoint their fanbase, the smaller it will become.

These notions of "like it or don't play" is ridiculous.  Try and tell that to the EA stakeholders and see how it turns out.

Woking fine so far. May lose what...lets go by this thread 14k fans? Big deal really. A few thousand here and there...as long as you gain more than you lose nobody cares

Not every fan comments online. There could be millions of angry fans that you don't know about.

And that goes both ways...Millions that are happy with it.

The happy ones are fine, the upset ones are not. So Bioware has no reason not to fix the endings for the people who are upset. I don't think anyone is asking them to change the endings, we're just asking for more endings or some downloadable content that gives us an epilogue/a resolution.

That was the whole point of my previous post.

People who are happy don't post.  When people are upset, they don't post.  It generally takes a fairly frustrating occurance to warrant any actual action when experience tells us it won't matter.

You saying that 14k will be upset.  When in the history of gaming has 14k posts been a little thing?

Honestly, i dont think this whole thing is going to kill them, but this may be the second hit (the first being DA2 according to most) that begins Biowares turn to sales mediocrity.

Quite often on the 14 k deal. Longest post I can remember was 1500+ pages in regard to a unwanted deal and that took less than a week.

The rage is real and valid. I dont doubt that. Dont use the post count or page numbers a a gauge as to like or dislike. Thats about all Im saying really.

PS...Im a moderator on certain forums. I see this alot.

I'm glad I'm not alone in the boat of "loved the game, hate the ****ty endings."

I'm not one to tell someone how they should tell their story. I didn't like DA2 but I accepted the story and characters because it wasn't mine to tell. I've accepted all the loop holes and odd decisions in ME since game one because it has always been a space epic game that is more like a movie series then a game series. I love it for that, and always will, but these endings are hollow, shallow, and cheap.

I don't know what happened here, but Bioware definitely wanted to keep the endings open, presumably for the next game. Really, I would rather this have been properly wrapped up and never get another ME game, that would be better then this. Anyway, if they really want to milk the series they could always make games from BEFORE Shepard's story. This was supposed to be a trilogy, but what we get leaves our choices throughout the series insignificant, and a conclusion that gives more questions then answers. Personally I would have rather the Reapers be unexplained, some great mystery that could never be understood by anyone, instead of the weird citadel kid AI... thing. Also, if it was controlling Reapers the whole time, and it WANTED the Reapers to come, why not just send the signal to the Keepers when the time comes anyway? Or hell, activate the relay itself? That's a big giant ugly loophole Bioware. So is blowing up all the relays because it would would kill millions from the blast radius, from being stranded in space, and from being stranded on desolate planets (Not to mention overpopulate earth and effectively kill most everyone anyway).

I am quite disappointed, and though I have always been a loyal fan to Bioware, I am going to go ahead and wait for reviews and spoilers before I purchase another BW game again. Sorry BW, get it together guys.

Everyone has the right to voice an opinion.

On both sides see it this way....

Both of you say that millions are sad/happy with the ending... If it was 50/50

lets imagine... 50% of their fanbase drops.. what happens to the future profits.. thats a massive plummet in sales for future games if some of the fanbase doesnt like where the company has gone.

This is all personal speculation.
I dont know 3 million people and know what they individually like. Only time well tell entirely... Lets see what the Fanbase at the EU does.

If you want to have SUPPORT OUR ENDINGS thread by all means but flaming on this one does nothing to support your claims to which all youll find is people frustiated about what bioware has done with their story.

Hopefully they fix the ending soon, because I truly love Mass Effect. I'm already looking forward to Mass Effect 4, but they need to fix Mass Effect 3 first. I want to see the franchise grow and be successful; not fail because of one fatal error.

the other worse thing about the endings is, when you choose to play on, you start at the point before you enter the cerberus base where you fight kai leng, with the hint to become more legendary with upcoming DLCs...

Come on Bioware, are you kidding? Thats not the storypoint I want to join a DLC, the ME2 way was the better choice (my opinion).

So has anyone seen the supposed 'secret ending' as a reward for a 2nd playthrough?

I don't get it honestly...imagine how much DLC sales they will lose because people are just too angry to buy it. We've seen countless people say they won't play the game again because they don't feel it matters what they do. It's fine to like what you have achived as a developer, but this whole thing just feels like a big **** you to their customers. They can go on and on about how great the ending is, and maybe it is decent in some unthinkable way...but depressing a whole fanbase doesn't seem like something any organization actually wants to do. To keep the endings like this shows that they really don't care about anyhting we say at all.

People say that EA has destroyed Bioware, in my opinion, the more I see, the more I think that the arrogance of Bioware has destroyed Bioware. It's not about the fans anymore, it's about stroking their own ego.

This is actually more likely than you think because, though EA is the parent company, corporations largely don't give a **** what their subsidiaries do so long as A: they aren't a massive profit drainer and B: they can get people to pay a lot for their products. From that point on, they have free reign to do whatever the **** they want.

Bioware seems to be confusing deep, thoughtful, emotional, and amazing with cliche, ridden with plot holes, and grimdark.

But hey the people defending the endings seem to want people to ignore the problem, even though it's like an enormous disgusting blemish on an otherwise decent game.

I am thinking the same, not because I want to but because I can not see any other reason why or how they thought the ending was good or even acceptable. Did they really think it was a good satifying ending? I finished the game and was like wow that was terrible I am going to hop on the forums and see if others were upset as well and boom I find 2 pages of topics in the other thread  and this 650+ page thread about the endings. So yeah, I hope that Bioware at least says something about this.

Heh,

I actually came on afterwards thinking "damn, I need to find out how to get the good ending, that one sucked."

I imagine my face would have been pretty humorous when I came across the Ending threads.

This. I think, it's not EA's fault, it's BioWare's. :(

The thing that I can't pinpoint is that they didn't want Shep to die no matter what, that's obvious because there's endings with him alive.

So if that was the case, what was the point in not having the traditional good, bad, and inbetween endings? Obviously not to finalize his fate, so I can only guess to lay work for new stories or because they rushed the end. I'm thinking a bit of both.

It's just disappointing. I'm not a sap for happy endings, I just wanted an ending. I've been so attached to this series now, swearing by it's emotional draw and amazing writing. Only to have this.

This will be 1000s of peoples reactions.

It's funny because the War Asset leven say the minimum is like 1/3 of the way into the bar, but my bar is full yet I can't get the ending with Shep taking a breath. You have to get more than full bar? lol Crazy.

You basically have to put on another bar OR play multiplayer to get around 4000-5000 to have the breathing part. ive heard both sides on the numbers but truth be told.. youll have to smash out some time to get that part. Either hard core singleplayer or just hop on multiplayer and hash out some matches to increase your rating

Terrible ending is terrible. I was under the impression that at least one ending was considered `good`. I dont really see a difference between them at all.

What the hell did they do! 3 years, 3 years of Shepards life (and way longer of my own) and for what?! FOR WHAT! I finished it last night but wanted to give myself the night to mull things over, not "react at once". But **** I am still so disappointed. Ok, so Bioware got to tell us the story "they" wanted. Can they now give us a DLC that makes us fans happy?

I am soo sooo soooooo sad. What a waste time (for Shepard). Sure the games still gave me lots of nice moments, but they crushed my little gamer-heart. Do I even dare to glance at DA3 now? Will they just jump and spit on my broken gamer-heart again? How could you do this to us Bioware.

Give me a DLC now.

I didn't do some of the citadel missions, but after the Cerberus attack they were gone. I didn't know that would happen, but I did do all the side missions after that and even did some that appeared to be completed. That's another problem is side missions are clear like they were in ME1/2. I had 3370 after 50%. So I agree it does seem a bit hard to get that ending.
