The hilarious thing is they just put Shepard with the Normandy, this wouldn't be happening.

Or have the Normandy crash on Earth. At least give us the chance to imagine an eventual reunion.

But no. Headcanon must also be crushed.

Why?  Why would Bioware want this?.....

I think you're going to have to hit me over the head with something very heavy, and drag my unconscious heap out of this thread.

Why isn't the Normandy there at the end anyway? Honestly, the ending wouldn't be so bad if the misery wasn't so forced.

I'm tempering my hopes. I'm sure I'll still enjoy most of the game. And I'm allowing a small little candle of hope to remain deep in my soul. If it turns out that this is all BS, can you imagine how wonderful it will feel if you play the game for the first time and have a happy ending?

But I doubt that would happen.

As far as we know, the DLC take place before the endgame (e.g., Take Back Omega). Like ME1, the game saves before the final battle. I sincerely doubt there's going to be post-game play with Shepard incinerated, blown up, uploaded, or stuck on Earth.

We can all take this leak as trolling, not a problem. It still does not make the feeling and opinions of anyone any less valid. This thread is a treasure trove of information for BW.

This actually makes sense, if you think about it. If there was a "happy" ending, what room would that leave for DLC? The purpose of this ending is to leave them room to add more later, resolving the main huge plot issue with the Reapers, while leaving ample room for personal issues to be explored with smaller-scale DLC. I suspect they're modeling this off the success of LotSB.

Of course, it's a huge gamble and might sink the franchise altogether, but I'm not despairing quite yet. There's still hope for the future... unless, in an ironic move, the fanrage is so huge that the DLC market bottom falls out and it never gets made. But I doubt that would happen.

Pretty sure everyone, even the Devs, said that the endings completely tie up every loose ending, making it seem like there's no possible DLC. Shepard is either dead or alive and if he's alive, then yeah, you have room to make a DLC.

Really I wish Bioware just delays ME3 and changes the endings.

Wow..........

This forum is full of idiots....

How about judging the ending AFTER the game is released instead of basing your uneducated opinions on a leak post without context.

Its that too hard? Are you guys this stupid?

Given how suicidal a business decision that would be in all regards, I have to doubt this is the case.

I loved both ME 1 & 2, from what i have found out in the spoiler forum its making me think twice about ME3. (yes crazy as it may sound)

i would also pay for a happy ending DLC.. (Maybe thats what EA are counting on)

Unfortunately, we know through the epilogue humans survive. So unless it is a magical dual planet, they're pretty SOL. I don't doubt that there might be the possibility to cultivate food, Quarians after all are ship-self sufficient. But that's doing a lot of wishful thinking.

My theory is someone in charge forgot they couldn't eat human food. :[

I could be wrong but I believe that epilogue takes place on earth if you take a path that doesn't destroy it. The Normandy doesn't get stuck on earth so who knows what type of food would be there.

Apparently because the ME team decided to pull a DA and make all the possible endings leave sour tastes for everyone.

I actually liked my DA2 ending (I have a tolerance for this kind of thing).

But this is...

Might? I couldn't think of a more sure fire way to sink an entire franchise than writing some POS ending that basically torpedoes the entire universe and kills off every single character of note in it with either horrible flaming death, becoming a magical synthetic freak or being stranded on some hell hole where nobody will ever see them ever again.

This is Highlander 2 level franchise death right here.

Apparently Bioware only wants to engage one emotion: utter devastating despair.... what, they didn't have time for the other ones like joy, triumph and hope?

Indeed. I told people: "This is a great business scheme for Bioware! Just get people pissed off about the endings, have them demand a DLC where you can get better endings, and give it to them for $X!".
