I don't even see how there are 16 variations of 3 endings.

Example, I took the 'Synthesis' ending....what possible variation is there?

The only one I can think of is 'Destroy' b/c Shepard can live or die.

Apparently the Earth can or cannot be destroyed, depending. Still doesn't add up to 16, though.

that's the rub....it's not 16 endings....it's 16 sets of factors....say 1-4 lead to ending1, 5-8 =ending 2, etc....

people have admitted thats what it was about. the main complaint wasnt about the relays. it was about noramdy and the crew wich people have admited saying they had a gripe with. hell others have also stated not being with LI is another gripe

learn to look around the boards more and youll see im right

You're just making that up. How do you know what the main complaint it? Have you read every thread in every

Man Shepard pressing a red button saying good bye and blowing up the citadel with him inside would have been a better ending than what we have now

This is actually what I was expecting. This, or something along the lines of DA:O where you had to choose who to sacrifice to kill the reapers - either of those would have been more satisfactory than what we actually got.

Thank you. I know how to navigate these forums. And yes I know the Love Interest thing is of supreme importance to a lot of people. But that's just part of it to me. The endings were lazy and uninspired. And some might say "borrowed" from a 12-year old video game (Deus Ex). If you want to make the ultimate sacrifice, fine. Even the first Dragon Age had much better and varied endings, one of which is the ultimate sacrifice. And that's cool. AS AN OPTION.

From a game series that included Options and choices to factor into the game.. This one is very linear compared to the prior games

Good for you. That doesn't mean you can strawman and generalize those who disagree.

Exactly. I don't see many people who dislike the ending insulting people who did like it. But the ones who did like it seem to be calling us stupid or saying that we shouldn't be upset.

Lol if you search for it of course you'll only find that subject. You're still not defending plot holes. Why are you deleting other things I say?

Yep, They should just go to their thread and post the all they want about how good it is. (eventhough it isnt personally). Theres a thread for them .. somewhere in this forum. Let us rant and try to constructively get an answer from bioware. If you dont like it deal with it. All youll find here is people supporting what the thread is about. Unless youre just here for the sake of arguement and have a weak grounds to support your way of thinking.

How can people defend these endings? Theres 3 choices, all of which nullify every choice you have made and all of which are essentially the same. Not to mention the endings themselves were amazingly stupid. The normandy getting stranded on some random planet? Your squad teleporting to the normandy and the normandy teleporting the relay. And lets not forget the lack of closure. We have no idea what happens to anyone in the galaxy. For all we know, in all endings, we gain the same thing, which could be nothing. And the epilogue was unbearably horrendous.

Exactly right. I love all the games and I've defended Bioware when people insulted them or said they don't care about fans. But with Mass Effect 3's ending, I just can't defend them. They ruined the entire series for a lot of people, and that's wrong.

Let's not forget how stupid it was to add the part about the boy and the catalyst. I thought the game was trolling me since I had already accepted that Shepard was going to die next to Anderson.

So true. I've been trying to find ways to justify it, even slightly, but I can't. I don't know how others are.

too bad that child at the end was a VI... someone needs to mod it into a robot or something so shepard can throw it into the beam.

If I wanted circular weapons of mass destruction that would be incredibly ineffective by destroying good things too, I would play Halo. Thing is... I want to play Mass Effect.

hmm i bet someone was playing FEAR or watching the Ring at the time of them making the ending. I do agree with someone modding the Catalyst to a robot and give a renegade decision to throw him into the beam >< Best epic ending if they did thatImage IPB

I will add my voice to the outcry,
with a hope to hear from those responsible.
I say this with a heavy sigh,
the ending for mass effect 3 was ****ing terrible.

Being in a minority can be a very empowering thing.  I remember a day back in 1968 As armed US troops opened fire on a group of unarmed college students at Kent State University with live ammo. The four students who died changed the world. I was at the time stationed at Nha Trang VietNam, and i almost deserted because of these murders. We are small voices here, but we are the majority. As each day passes more and more people from around the world chime in to express their disgruntlement. You people who enjoy the endings are few, and we're happy that you do, but you are the minority. We arent out to change the world, rather, we simply want options to actually win the game: options that will allow five and a half years of playing, researching experimenting, arguing, and collaberating to be  made worthwhile.
It is quite obvious that Bioware is abandoning the single player game ( console or not ) and it is not hard to tell if you simply look on their home page at the offerings they provide.  I dont think the majority of those of us here in this forum care what Bioware does with their future, but they made us all a promise; a commitment to  this series, and they abandoned it: tossing it down the chute with the rest of the garbage by using an ending that completely invalidates every decision, every discussion, every attempt to achieve the goal of galactic unification and success over the reapers from the first day that ME1 was released.
We are quite happy that you enjoyed the ending, so please, go in peace and enjoy your happiness. We're trying to get some work done here.
