So we can't get the ending we want after all?

Even if they had the LI's die for a dramatic scene, would be epic. I have never been so bummed out over a game. And after the credits? What the hell was that??
I just don't know. No interaction with Harbinger either, except for the part where he almost kills you I guess. But I just can't believe it ended like this. All this time, this is how the game ends. Nothing really compares to it does it? This why Drew left? Did not agree with this vision?
Not sure what to say honestly. I mean, I don't even want to try other play throughs with my other Sheps...
Why? Why bioware, I really want to know why?

Turians and Humans are too biologically different. If you eat turian food you die for example. The best an interspecies couple could do would be to adopt.- and I bet there would be plenty of children after the war. Unless your dating an asari that is.
But seriously bioware you gave us THIS? **** me. I wish someone would just kill me. This is just urgh.
Obviously

If you could prove to me that bioware do this then that would be the only reason to ever play ME3 ever again. I will never touch Mass Effect again if this is what we have.

You know what would be kind of cool, but impossible?
If we could organize a very really campaign where everyone plays the game up until the ending and then ALT+F4s. Bioware keeps metrics on where people stop playing the game and what ending they choose. And it would be fantastic if their metrics included that of the people who got to the final area, only a few of them chose any ending at all.
Take a fourth option, if you will. It'll never happen. But a man can dream.
I am on the Xbox 360 so I can't do the last part but I will definitely stop before the end of the game. Not sure if they can track that on the console...but I'll do it anyway!
@Bluumberry They can't have kids but they can adopt! Haven't gotten the scene yet but apparently he mentions Krogan babies! Shep and Garrus raising a krogan, human and/or turian! YES! <3 But I honestly wish Bioware left that part out for Garrus (and other LIs that have similar *after the battle* dialogue). I feel like its a slap in the face...they're sadists...<_<

I think the IDEA of these endings could work, but Bioware COMPLETELY botched the execution. The "cycle" plot makes no sense without a backstory. So instead of being some revolutionary like: "The Citadel is a VI that controls these cycles because the first race, the builders, saw uprising after uprising of Synthetic life in their time, and so created a way to deal with it."
Instead we get VI kid: "I'm the Guardian! We destroy life over and over because we can't let synthetics win!" Even though he's basically being a hypocrite. You know, Synthetic life destroying all organic life every 50,000 years.
Then of course, there is are the 3 endings. All of which I can work with. Accept the actual endings are all the same... With just slightly different dialog leading up to it, and meaning at the end. However, I wish there was a let Shepard live AND not kill the Geth and Edi.
The endings also raise some questions:
1: How did the crew get back to the ship? They were all on the planet kicking ass with me.
2: Why was joker in FTL running away from the energy thing?
3: Why were the Mass Effect engines on the Normandy Destroyed?
4: Was ALL Mass Effect technology destroyed?
5: What happened to the HUGE FREAKING FLEET that was over Earth? How will they get home?
These are just a few, if you'd like to add your own questions i'd be happy to add them to the list.
To sum up, the idea behind the endings could have worked. But in the execution of them, we are left with WAY to many unanswered questions, and no extra story to tell us how the galaxy sorts its self out.
On a side note: I forsee DLC EXPLAINING how it all works out!
PS: WTB: Taking Back Omega DLC.

I honestly feel like every mission, decision and thought I put into the game meant absolutely ZERO due to this funneled down disappointing ending.
I am not looking for “rainbows and unicorns” at the end, in fact I anticipated much of the crew dying – but for a reason with a purpose, not like this non sense.
I also figured incorrectly that in the end my LI would go down with me in a blaze of glory or at least we would be together in some way at the end, nope can’t have that either, your crew is stranded left for dead and your dead or all alone ,,,,
BW developers or writers or management really lost the RP perspective and messed with the emotional attachment the fan base had with this game.

That scene makes me cry every time, despite knowing the endings suck.

Ah okay. I misunderstood you. Like I said I am not at that point in the story yet, I am sure I will cry or at least be emotional....especially considering that after my conversation with him (and whoever else is around) I'll be saving and turning it off for a LONG time. Not sure when I will beat it.....

I'm currently romancing Kaidan and if I choose not to take him with me to the final battle, will he still step out of the Normandy after the crash regardless of whether I take him with me or not? Or is he stuck on Earth somewhere?
I think my q boils down to - are the people stepping out of the Normandy at the end set to be the people you take with you or is it set to be some other thing, like your LI and your favorite NPC?
I just want to be prepped for suck, either way.

The game just released 8 minutes ago for most of Europe, let's hope there will maybe now be an official statement on Monday - BW is probably trying to protect sales, by staying silent.
They can stay silent all they want. There is a huge chunk of the community who are very vocal who will give the world our opinion. Im giving my honest opinion on amazon (when it lets me) to hopefully save some fans some time and money.

If they fix it, then I would definitely recommend people to buy it. But right now I can't because it only seems to be making people feel horrible.

Sadly you can't save at the area where the goodbyes are held. You only get one autosave at the beginnig of the area and are not allowed to save by yourself.
OT: I'm getting a lot of people defending the endings by saying "It's a good ending if Anderson and Shepard survive! There's not only 3 endings!" /facepalm
How is Anderson and Shepard surviving a good ending when the all 3 endings make no sense. And they cna keep arguing over 16 endings but as was said before there's only 3 with variables that don't matter at all.

The sad thing is, I want to play ME again. Part of me has this desire to go back and play one and two. But I can't. I know what's coming and I can't do that again.
Fifteen minutes managed to kill the entire series. I've felt awful all day. Maybe it's silly because it's just a video game...but somehow it seems like more than that. To watch Shepard and her crew end that way? To watch that happen to this universe that I adore? It isn't worth it. I wish I'd never played Mass Effect.
That said, if they fix this with DLC I most certainly WILL buy it. I want and need closure. I want that stupid Disney ending. Or even something slightly less depressing than what we got. At this point, Shepard and Kaidan dying together would be fine.
