So we can't get the ending we want after all?

But the characters I have come to love just carelessly treated like how the endings treated them made me sick. I legitimately cried.
Commander Shepard DESERVES her/his happy ending.
My Shepard had dreams to live out her days in peace with Garrus.
I feel she's earned it, the entire crew has earned it.
The big thing in a BioWare game is CHOICE. Well BW, I CHOOSE a happy ending. Where is my CHOICE? You neglected to give me a CHOICE in a game about CHOICES.
BioWare, Commander Shepard has EARNED her happiness.

But the scene with the kid at the very end after the credits...Um...does that mean our entire playthrough starting with ME1 was essentially that dude's "story"? Because that's pretty much right up there with it was all a dream in my book. And I've seen some people mention that their supposedly dead team members ended up back on the normandy. This happened to me too. I had James and Garrus with me and James was magically on the island. Also, I'm assuming when you get knocked down by Harbringer's laser that your squad members you had with you died? Is that correct? It seemed weird to me that my Shep wouldn't acknowledge it. I JUST DONT GET IT! Any of it. Maybe I'm not smart enough for that ending hahaha
I don't understand this either. My Shep's LI was with her - Shep has always valued her friendships highly, I think it's very bizarre she doesn't at least scream out for either of the squadmates, especially a LI. So I can't actually tell if they died there or not.

Now if we saw the Normandy get shot down and crash onto Earth that would be something else.
The other parts of the ending, I enjoyed.

About the kid, i do not see it as all it was dream or some story the kid was hearing all the time,
it more like, we lived through the real thing in real time, then we just get too see how we became Legends and people immortalize us by telling this story.

I have decided, against my better judgment, to play the Mass Effect Plus game, and I am dreading every minute just so I can see what different ending option you have. If it doesn't include an option to keep the relays which sustains the galaxy you wanted to save what is the point. I can live with Shepard dying for the cause but the entire galaxy being destroyed is as stupid as the actual Catalyst function in ME3. I am going to go FUS RO DAH some dragons.
I did have all 3 choices that were all the same, Shep dies - check, Mass Relays destroyed leaving allies stranded in system and the countless systems/planets destroyed when their relay was destroyed - check. I don't consider the choise of destory the reapers, become a reaper, or merge org and syn together as really a quality choce based ending for a series like ME.

I get shep was hurt and obviously had bigger things on his/her mind, but still. When cortez gets shot down shep screams "steve!!" ....oh but the squad members who have made this entire journey with us die? pssh no big deal if they're dead. I'm just gonna limp along. If they were gonna keep the ending they did, granted this is just my opinion, I feel like they should have just ended it with Shep and Anderson looking out over everything. That leaves way more room for player interpretation. And I understand the idea behind the flashbacks but I think they could have been way better done. Just saying. I am interested to see how Bioware attempts to save face from this junk
Also...in reference to harbringer taking you out..are you already dead once that happens? Because the major on the radio chatter says everyone was decimated. If I ever actually do another play through of this game I'm just gonna yell at my Shep to stay on the ground and die instead of making their agonizing way to the beam. Not worth the pain

The irony is, I was expecting the worst. possible. thing. I was ready to part with my Shepard, and maybe watch some of her friends die in the process, blahblahblah. But the actual endings... just... somehow ended up worse than anything I imagined. :\\

The thing that bothers me most about the ending is the complete discounting of all you just completed. When you destroy the Mass Effect Relays every decision you made in the game(s) is invalidated. It doesn't matter what you diid or who you did it with because everyone you allied with is stuck in the Earth's system and I assume the Normandy crash landed on Earth somewhere...right. If Bioware even tries to say that all of your allies are mysteriously transported back to their homeworlds by the Catalyst that will be the final blow.

There are three endings. Youtube them. But know that nothing you really do can change which ones are avaliable to you. I was presented with all 3 as options and I was just dumbfounded by the sheer retardedness of the entire situation.

Do the 3 black and white shots during the ending change? I imagine the Joker and Anderson shots wouldn't need to change, but what about Liara? Shouldn't that change based on LI?
Also, for PC people, were the textures really.... bad?

If you had Garrus and Tali, then I imagine they would die in a couple of days without proper water treatment and with food that is the wrong DNA type. Basically, they are going to die fairly quick, which is disapointing. I fought that war for those two (primarily) and they will die of infection/dehydration.CronosVengence wrote...
So, Tali who needs technology and medical supplies to keep alive...gets stranded on a planet. So what, a few months to live? Awesome. Wonder what other challenges other species will have to endure on the new planet? How long they will live? Awesome. So essentially. My Shepard FAILED at saving anyone he cared about? Awesome. Even if Shepard lives, he is stranded in space with...what provisions? Huh...so even if he lives he dies a slow death? Awesome. Just Awesome. I have not even played the game today...hoping I will come here and see someone say that there is, in fact, a secret ending that makes me happy. so far, looks as though I will not finish this game...anytime soon, if ever.

I agree. It would have been better to be incredibly vague with no answers than not clear enough but not vague enough. As is, the evidence they've presented to us makes me absolutely hate the ending (ending, not really endings) (especially for the normandy crew).
No, you're still alive, the corporal said that before he died (crawling towards you). You hadn't gotten up yet. I thought I'd done something wrong - I redid that part multiple times trying to dodge the beam. I couldn't figure out how I kept messing up. I even went back and redid half the game to try to fix it. The lack of any choice is astounding.
And about the flash things before you die - I expected Garrus and got Liara instead. I was kind of like wtf - yeah Liara was a good friend, but why did Shep think of her before she died rather than Garrus?

no one crawled towards me. all I had on my run through was the radio chatter saying everyone was dead. I think once the writers hit the endings, they all walk out of the room for a lunch break and a chimp with a crayon came in and finished the story for them.bpzrn wrote...

Yeah, that is what I thought. I just cant complete the game. I don't want to see the end. I would rather pretend this game just never happened, which is horrible..because the game is fun, with very few glitchs (For me).

Actually, ending the game at Anderson and Shep sitting there, looking out at earth, would have been a waaay better ending.
