Maybe... maybe Shepard never left that virtual geth server and all those endings were based off the geth trolling his brain.
Maybe in future DLC, Shepard will realize this and walk out of that server, fight the Reapers, and have a decent ending!

The user, CarsRG8 can't post on here, but he messaged me and wants to offer support. He said "I have cancelled my CE pre-order because of those endings! Thus I can't post on the main "So we can't get the ending we want after all?" thread as I do not have access! But I read it everyday hoping BW will listen. I also don't mind if you post this message in the thread so I can voice my support! I'm one for the "disney" endings - others may say it doesn't fit with the theme but hey, its MY choice.... BW didn't give this to us!!! Thanks.."

Wow. So all the endings are unbelievably depressing. And none of your decisions matter. Regardless of who you romanced, and how faithful or unfaithful you were, you end up alone trapped in a defunct Citadel with millions of rotting corpses, including Garrus' family. Your entire squad inexplicably transports from the ground assault onto the Normandy and hits a mass relay right as Shepard destroys the reapers. Said mass relays explode, stranding crew on remote planet. Crew looks pleased to be there because there are birds and pretty clouds. And apparently, this is the "good" ending?

Will pay for brighter ending DLC. I would honestly not have played at all if I knew these endings were coming. Great game that was absolutely ruined by the slate of sour endings.

Not buying another bioware game until I have researched the ending for it first. Not going to waste my money or time with them if I am not going to get a good payoff in the end.

Your effing kidding. You are, right? Kidding? This was all a story being told by grandpa to a small kid. What the hell kind of grandfather does that? What exactly did dirty grandpa hope to accomplish by telling his grandchild about all those sex scenes?  I don't even....

Yeah, the idea actually is kind of neat. it was a story all along, and everything that made Shep "Your Sheppard" where, like when you flesh out a character from a book, or story. I actually like that part. They just could have make the kid bigger, because all the violence of the story. Also space ******.

I still say, I dont mind the endings, as long, as there would be one very hard to attain, possibly requiring multiple runs, in which You could have your team together. Dead or alive.
The characters matter to people, they would strive for it.

I definitely agree with everyone else - Shepard's death is understandable, though there should have been a choice. What happened to the Normandy? That was NOT understandable. My Shep worked so hard to protect the ones she loved. Even if you don't think she deserves peace, at least give her crew peace...

Or maybe you have to beat the game on new game+ on insanity to unlock it which is why BioWare is not responding to our cries of pain? 
Kind of like the Halo trilogy.

I REALLY hope they pull a "Bethesda" and fix this somehow. I don't need unicorns farting rainbows and flowers while I ride off into the sunset with my LI. I DO need some sort of freaking closure with characters. Not have them magically teleport to the normandy that for some freaking odd reason decided to bail on me. I'm fine with MY Shepard making the ultimate sacrifice. I'm NOT ok with this plot hole ridden ending. I will GLADLY pay for a better ending DLC. Other than that, I LOVED the game. Unfortunately, the last 5 minutes left an INSANELY sour taste in my mouth. *endnerdrant*

That is a pretty cool idea and I think what most people want is the "and they lived happily ever after till the end of their days" with Shepard, LI, and Normandy crew.  Come on Bioware just one happy ending!!!!

I feel like everyone I knew and loved in the entire galaxy just died.

I hope Bioware patches the ending (yes, it is broken), because at this point, it is official that Shepard has killed more innocent people than his enemies have during the course of the Mass Effect series.
