I really don't want the Bioware guys and girls to get the wrong idea though. Most of us here do love the game and respect and appreciate the hard work that they put into the game. We just don't like the endings, that's all. And check this out, Bioware does see what we're saying.

Yes I agree. And I think the entire game ...actually the entire SERIES .. was amazing. ME3 was blowing me away up until the ending. And that's the crux of the matter. Endings are important, especially in something that everyone is so invested in. Why am I going to want to replay any ME when I know everything I do is pretty much hopeless? I don't even want to play DLC they might release at this point because what's the point?

Whenever I have time to play a game i'm sure as heck not gonna be getting the one off of my shelf that's like "hey pick me! Nothing like investing 300 hours for nothing, am i right?!"   Again I say, <_<

And honestly since all the endings are pretty much the same in what they show you, I gues I'll just pick the green mass relay light one from here on out since green is my favorite color. (not a real fitting end to such an epic series)

This ending just killed the series for me. To me, this series was about MY STORY and the choices that I MADE having an impact. I was fine with some of those choices being war assets, but feel like the bigger players should have had more impact or a cinematic or two in the war.
The ending makes me wonder why I would want to go back and play through the entire trilogy again, when in the end, my actions have little influence in the outcome? And DLC? Unless it fixes this train wreck of an ending, what could possibly make me want to purchase any story DLC when again, it makes no matter what it is or what it can do for me, since in the end it doesn't matter.

Basically if they fix the ending, most people will love Bioware and the series again. I don't see what Bioware has to lose. They fix the endings, and then they get fan support and love again and future customers for games they release later on.

I suffered through four months of ignoring the boards, not reading any news, not getting any spoilers at all and I just finished ME3. The ending was the worst I could have ever imagined. I simply cannot express my disappointment in words. One and done for me. Mass Effect 3 is dead to me. I hate to spew hyperbole, but the ending of this game has completely ruined Mass Effect for me. I feel so let down. Back to Skyrim for me I guess. What a freaking bummer.

i tried popping in mass effect 1 before i went back to skyrim...but the thought of it not mattering just killed the mood....off to breezehome i go =(

The ending ruined the entire series. Seconded, agreed, acknowledged, whatever. Now, I think I'll go have a good cry and try to forget ME2 and ME3 ever happend.

I really enjoyed it until I hit the end and nothing I did mattered. I hate how I can only save shepard and destroy the reapers by murdering the geth and EDI. Hope there is A DLC fix as currently have no desire to touch it again which is sad because I have 10 + playthroughs on part 1 and 2 and 3 is a solid 8/10 game let down by terrible "endings".

It all makes sense now.

Now, everytime I look at all of my ME2 lithographs, I am going to feel like excrement.

It can't take away the fun I had with ME and ME2, but it does make it impossible to ever revisit them, so I guess it has ruined the series for me in that respect.

Honestly, I think if anything it just allows you to recognize that you shouldn't care that much in the future. Even if it's from BioWare, it's just a game; play it and forget about it.

All they had to do is old school text boxes on what happens to everyone else this would be cheap, easy and you can make various possible outcomes to reflect player choice so they can feel they have "there" ending . Kinda like that old game Baldurs Gate 2 did forget what company made that ?

I thought I responded to this but then my computer crashed so...

Anyway, I was completely sick to my stomach over that ending. So upset :( at the very least if Shepard and the Normandy were on the same planet, it would be better. At least Shepard lived. It looks like I got the "best" ending. But I spend these three games being loyal to Kaidan and really growing to love him as a character, and loving how he and Shepard interact, and then the end of the game comes and it looks like the Normandy is stranded on a completely different planet?!

REALLY

T________T

My husband kept turning around and asking if I was all right because all I could do for the last 10 minutes of the game was fling obscenities at the TV :/ This was my favorite Mass Effect game up until the ending and I'm just left feeling upset and sad.

So if we want to complain we need to post in a mega thread. Ok
With ME1 BW brought us into a world of consequence's. You're every choice mattered, sometimes in suprising ways. The story was a fight against inevitability. With 2 our choices from 1 mattered and we had to weigh our choices for 3. think through whether we should do this or that, agonizing over whether i should save the base in case we needed the tech even though it seemed so wrong. I mean I wondered that if i blew the base up would i be dooming humanity in 3. In the lead up I wondered would i have to choose geth or quarian? krogan or turian etc. I went out hitting every system maxing my assets. not playing MP because Blech but still maxing everything else. doing every side mission etc. I planned on running through 3 at least 5-6 more times even planned on going back to 2 after seeing what options i missed in previous saves and wanting to see how they made 3 different. THEN I GET TO THE END... and disbelief, sadness. This is what teh end is? no let me reload and redo the last part i just picked the wrong option...nope same ok lets try option 3....nope same. You die she dies galaxy FUBAR etc. Ok ok let me check the strat guide uhhuh youtube? forums?? Oh my god how could they do this? this is so tacked on what the etc etc.
Here's the deal. Im a HUGE BW fanboy. Played every game since Kotor, got multiple CE'S for theyre games Lol got 2 swtor CE'S (1 me 1 for wife) Paid for 2 6months subs to swtor. got every dlc for me and da. Actually like DA2 and enjoying Swtor.I own every book and during the midnight release i saw ME3 shirts, bought 2 and the hat. Seriously Im a BW Fanboy. BUT THIS IS WRONG. These endings are just bad. tacked on. Yeah i want the "Disney ending, walk off into the sunset with my LI" why? beacuse life sucks enough without having my escape from reality (ie video games) sucking as well. If I wanted this kinda ending I just wouldnt have played.
In the end it come down to this for me. BW FIX THIS. until you do I'm done plain and simple. you will get no more money from me till this is fixed. For me you got till my 6month swtor renewal comes up then if not fixed Im out and wash my hands of it. Until then my shepards stories end with ME2. me and my Li cruising the galaxy reading for the reapers.
BW I love this game up until the endings. without them its an amazing game. Do youre fans the and story the justice they deserve and fix this and this can be one of the greatest trilogys ever. Instead of one of the worst debacles.
Sorry for any misspell's Its late and I'm tired angry frustrated and sad.

I agree with the epilogue cards thing. That's really al I want. One semi HOPEFUL ending and something that gives me more details about what happened after I made my choice. Everything else I can live with. And as much as I hate God-Child, I pretty much knew something like him was coming. Sovereign and Harbinger both loved saying "we are your salvation through destruction".. so obviously I knew there had to be another "player" as it were. And even Shepherd dying was alluded to on more than one occasion. I completely understand the writers need/want to make Shepherd die but they could have done it in more fleshed out ways. BUT if we do get changed endings... I would kind of like that "skip down the newly saved streets of earth with bunnies" ending I mentioned earlier  A fully happy ending might be cliche, but its a videogame .. I get enough sucky tough stuff in real life...cliches can be good sometimes

I'd prefer actual cutscenes that show Shepard reuniting with his love interest and his crew.

Exactly. A warm-hearted ending for a trilogy so full of death and loss and destruction would be perfect.

What ever happened to "we are using WWII as a big influence for Mass Effect 3..."?
If I remember correctly, there was celebrating, people climbing out of the rubble and reconstruction, and something called the "baby boom" ;)

It was suppoed to be all about choices . I have no issue that the relay's stop working in every ending as that is how they want to proceed with the universe but why cannot Shepard and Crew live and be happy in some endings and die in others big impact with fans zero impact in the ME3 universe as Shepards story ends with the destruction of the reapers.

we are on the same page. an ending that makes me feel like the last 4 years of constant loss and death of those I love/carefor and the utter destruction of everything i've known was, in the end, worth the heart ache and all of the trouble that it required to save it....that would be fitting in my book

Life will adapt, and we will destroy our selves. It's not too hard to understand. I mean I understand why fans are upset, but it is all about the balance of the universe and such.

Think about it as reality. Our population will inevitably grow, we won't find a mass relay beyond Pluto, we will probably never colonize new worlds, and we will either adapt to the world/growing population we have, or we will destroy our selves. The ending is about order in the galaxy, not destroy dem evil Reapers and making sure our comrades are safe.

You're right, but that's kind of my point. The planets' ecosystems will tend to even out in the end, but what matters to me is the idea that without the technology and infrastructure that they had before, people will die. Either a few populations (that we aren't invested in as an audience, might I add) adapt, and/or- and all I was saying is that I find this idea depressing- many populations get stuck with the fate that the Reapers had planned for them, which makes all the effort to defeat them seem a little empty. And it's strange that after all this emphasis of getting closer to people during the series- getting to know your allies, building your team, bringing species together- that people are cut off from the rest of the galaxy by the endings.

If you don't think that, fine. It's a reasonable opinion. But taking the long view just doesn't work for me.
