Oookey... I just finshed my first playthrough... and I gotta say: Superb!
The game is one HELL of a ride... even though the end missions on earth felt alittle like a run of the mill war shooter, but that was intended, I guess.
The ending? Well... I liked it. The whole "solution to the never ending conflict" (good vs. bad, order vs. chaos, paragon vs. renegade, etc.) plot was not the most original, but I liked it.
What I did not like... and I am totally unable to comprehend... is what happened to Sheps crew/the Normandy. It made NO sense whatsoever... from a storytelling point of view.
I know my deal about stories... been playing games for 20 and writing RPG/storytelling adventures for 15 years, and frankly: Had I ever done something like that last bit, my players would have never forgiven me.
I mean, besides the fact that the last decision basically is a giant dialogue weel (viewed from the top), where control would be paragon, destroy would be renegade and synthesis would be paragade (neutral), everything after that just seems... off.
EDIT: Funny thing... DA2 was a massive game in it's own right, but there was only one point where I ever felt any emotion... after the Legacy DLC, when Hawk looks into the fire and hears his mother talk to him... ME3 was the exact oposit.^^
