Everybody join us.

Even though online petitions tend to not do much, I signed. It can't hurt, and it can be a little more heat. Well done.

Thats actually a good summation of how absurd the endings made the rest of the game.  All the running around trying to get people together to save the galaxy comes to a screeching halt when the kid-vi shows up to tell you you've basically been wasting your time and you can only do these 3 things.

RIGHT? I mean, what was the point of building your multi-species fleet when you never see them fight? What was the point of curing the genophage or making peace between the geth and the quarians (or not, in both cases)? You never take back Earth. Basically, it's like, "oh, we're not actually writing an ending for the game you played. Have this one from Deus Ex!"

One would think with making teh right decisions, gettign the all the Galaxy to help includign upgraded Geth there be a way, an option to beat teh Reapers with a somewhat "Good" ending like bein gwith your LI, saving earth. I mean even a happy ending would have still resulted in dealin gwith the loss o fMordin, Legion, Thane etc... plenty of sadness along the way, this ending makes the entier experinace just a big downer.

Absolutely. And their marketing campaign was all about taking Earth back. I'm pretty sure everybody expected a final grand battle for Earth. Maybe see glimpses of Palaven freed, new settlements on the Quarian homeworld.. A Krogan baby.. SOMETHING!

Yeah, what a shame.

I'm not generally as invested emotional as some people here seem, nothing wrong with it at all. But I can't just help feeling so lost at the concept of coming up with all this just to drop the ball.

Garrus may have been my favorite in game character ever. There was nothing even crazy about him, just seemed like a good guy who wanted to fix things. Yet he was so believable that I am genuinely mad thinking about everything talked about in ME3 and just knowing the last time I see him, he's just on some planet stuck with no real idea of what happens.

The shooting competition, the verbal jabs about how much prettier one was than the other, "meet me at the bar," "may you be in heaven..."

I'm so confused.

I bawled all through the end of the game. Up until the last five minutes. Then I just felt sick.

I second every post in this thread that says ME3 had a terrible ending.

Tell me Bioware/EA: why should I play Mass Effect again? Why should I put more time into this game at all if all my choices don't even matter? Why sure I cure the genophage if all the male Krogans are cut off from the females?

Why should I go on the suicide mission if everyone I know is probably not going to see his family again or Miranda will never see her sister again?

It just doesn't make any sense the destroy the relays. I need a reason to believe in it, and I need to know if this decision was taken into consideration or not. Not because I'm crazy, but because I need to justify myself playing this game series. It has had a major impact on my life and made me feel like humanity could unite fully in our world, but then the relays are destroyed and we're all alone, and it's all because of Shepar........

There's no words to describe any of this.

The more I think about it the more worried I become. Can they actually fix it, can they fix all the glaring plot holes, can they fix this abortion of an ending? I'm just getting that sick feeling that we might be stuck with this, I can't really see them doing something that would make sense with out rewriting a good 1/4th of the game. Sure they could tack on an ending but would that really satisfy us or would it just temper the rage. What if they pull an epic troll/dick move and charge for fixing their mistake?

You have obviously not seen our 10,000+ page monster of a Tali thread.

Actually....yeah. I did very much the same.

However, as I had avoided the Catalyst's voice prior to playing the game, I didn't know what to expect.

When he started, I burst out laughing. So that was nice.

I think what kills me the most is that Bioware truly worked hard making a wonderful romance between Garrus and Shepard this time around... one that truly moved me...

In the final conversation between them Garrus asks Shepard not to die and in the only ending wherein Shepard doesn't die they are separated with no closure at all and no indication that they will ever be reunited...

That's what hurts me the most... Bioware really made an effort with this relationship and every other relationship as well and then flushed it all down the toilet...

I find it rather ironic that here we are, beleaguered, trying to fight back against a massive force that has imposed its will on us and still retaining the hope for there to be a change.

Does that remind anyone of a certain game? xD

I feel sick as well. It was an emotional rollar coaster all the way to the last 15 minutes, then I just wanted to curl up on my bed and imagine what a better ending would be. I may replay the game again, but just stop right before the Cerberus assult. I'll just imagine my own, better concluding, ending.

I think unfortunately this crapstorm will be written off as a vocal minority. I have little hope of getting a fixed ending (although that's free cash for them so why not?) because they will assume most people enjoy it. Only option is to in future plays turn off the system at the end of the Anderson-Shepard conversation, assuming I have future plays. As much as I loved the series including 99.999% of 3, its going to be rough to work up the will to play through it again. I mean it feels pointless, no matter what I do galactic civilization gets destroyed. Kill the council, save the council, lose almost everyone on the suicide mission, save everyone, destroy the base, save the base.... WHAT DOES IT MATTER? Either way all the relays are going down, the squad members get lost in a jungle, and galactic civilization is gone.

Great, so keeping with the theme we'll get a **** ending for our story too.

Can't say I don't see it coming.

They not only "tend to" do nothing, they are absolutely pointless. Jacking this thread up to 1000's of pages will do a lot more for the cause...of course even that might, in the end, be kind of pointless. I'm just not seeing BW retconning their own end to the story.

I was hoping the Catalyst would be something different. Not the over-marketed child. I was hoping he'd look something like the statues on Illos. But alas.

Did Bioware's writers phone this ending in? It's terrible. After all the effort in your other games, to remain Paragon or Renegade, or whatever your choices are. After getting squadmates and losing them or seeing them killed, after all the epic cinematics you are simply slapped by the writer and force fed an ending that not only goes against everything you've ever done in the previous ME games, but also makes them seem worthless.

ME3 is a great game. Great missions, characters, combat, and cinematics. Everything was perfect until the endings.

We do need an alternate ending patched in. Just one big giant button Shepard can press that destroys all Reapers and their forces. That's all. We earned that after everything we've experienced. It should have been that simple. Expected yes, but that's it.

Paragon: Destroy all Reapers and live happily ever after.

Renegade: Control the Reapers like a boss.

Neutral: Synthesis or whatever (still a craptastic ending)

Yeah, they phoned in the endings.

I don't think this is just a minor thing. I've been by a couple of message boards. Most people seem to dislike the endings. I still don't see why BioWare/EA didn't cover all the bases when it came to these endings. I mean, don't they focus test games this big???

Very much so.  Here's to the continued hope that they don't decide to end this one like they did with ME3.
