So we can't get the ending we want after all?

I heard that they did focus test the ending and the people loved it.
If that's true they clearly swapped people with monkeys.

They not only "tend to" do nothing, they are absolutely pointless. Jacking this thread up to 1000's of pages will do a lot more for the cause...of course even that might, in the end, be kind of pointless. I'm just not seeing BW retconning their own end to the story.Rob8228 wrote...

Everybody join us.
Even though online petitions tend to not do much, I signed. It can't hurt, and it can be a little more heat. Well done.
At the end of the day, it won't hurt though. I am going to give BW some time to come up with a real response before I get too uptight (as if I haven't already). I guess I mean I am holding out hope for a bit. Even though the tweets were very vague, we have their attention, which is a glimmer..

The more I think about it the more worried I become. Can they actually fix it, can they fix all the glaring plot holes, can they fix this abortion of an ending? I'm just getting that sick feeling that we might be stuck with this, I can't really see them doing something that would make sense with out rewriting a good 1/4th of the game. Sure they could tack on an ending but would that really satisfy us or would it just temper the rage. What if they pull an epic troll/dick move and charge for fixing their mistake?
I feel that way too, it's actually really hard to believe they could go back and just change the whole divine intervention to explain things better. If anything, they'll add to it, make it more believable.
The lack of closure is what is the most painful. There isn't really any voice acting required to give us some cutscenes showing what happens next in an epilogue, so they should be able to pull it off. Now will they actually WANT to do it is another matter entirely. They're proud of their work, admitting that the end of the game is broken will be a difficult thing to do.

Nah, i imagine they just focus grouped it with people who had never played before and had no attachment to the series or characters. Im sure the ending doesnt seem too terrible if you have no attachment to the lore, story, and characters.Landline wrote...

I find it rather ironic that here we are, beleaguered, trying to fight back against a massive force that has imposed its will on us and still retaining the hope for there to be a change.
Does that remind anyone of a certain game? xD
And if that is a sign of anything then we are surely going to loose no matter what. ME3 endings style.

True enough.
Deus Ex HRs ending, while most people agree it was dissapointing and bad, didn't generat the type of feels we're seeing here. And Deus Exes endings were more or less exactly the same.

I dont blame the reviewers, the video game was an epic conclusion to the trilogy for 99.999% of the game. Most reviewers arent going to send a review through the floor over 5 minutes of gameplay.FsDxRAGE_v2 wrote...

I really only joined the boards so that I could post here and add my support to this idea. The endings killed the series (not just the game) for me.
This is how I feel right now. It's like "Whats the point of playing this?" even if ME4 comes out, Shepard won't be in it and we will never have closure.

Because EA is greasing some palms, or blackmailing them, or they're afraid to say bad things about a major game out of fear of pissing off the fanboys.
If it's the last thing then their plan kind of backfired.

ME3 is a great game. Great missions, characters, combat, and cinematics. Everything was perfect until the endings.
We do need an alternate ending patched in. Just one big giant button Shepard can press that destroys all Reapers and their forces. That's all. We earned that after everything we've experienced. It should have been that simple. Expected yes, but that's it.
Paragon: Destroy all Reapers and live happily ever after.
Renegade: Control the Reapers like a boss.
Neutral: Synthesis or whatever (still a craptastic ending)
Yeah, they phoned in the endings.
I second this

Say what you will about Yahtzee, he's one of the few reviewers that will actually call out games when they make a mess in their pants.
And ho boy, Bioware made quite the mess in their pants.

That said, I really don't feel like I got the closure I wanted for these characters that I've spent hundreds of hours with. Like lots of others I would have really preferred that it was Shepard and, in my case, Miranda, embracing at the end and not Joker and EDI that I got. I want to see what all my friends that have survived this nightmare are up to. I want to see Shepard having flashbacks of Miranda and not Liara.
Even though I loved the game, I really hope that there's more coming and not just a "show's over, time for a new cast fighting the Creepers X years in the future" reboot to the series.
