I wonder how BioWare can fix this ending situation... Judging by what i read here, just adding more options may not be enought - entire last mission must be reworked...

I wonder if such a missive fix has ever been released for any game?

The Witcher and the Witcher 2 are two good examples of massive fixes and reworking gameplay to correct mistakes.  And that is from a small polish company.  If they can do it, Bioware most definitely can.

Damn, that pole has more votes then Biowares official polls.

No way they can ignore such overwhelming numbers.

Haha, that sounds more like a challenge. Just watch them :(

Yea.. Watch that poll disappear.. Bioware "huh what poll are you talking about?" lol Image IPB

Good point!  Start taking screenshots!

I'm with you guys! Hopefully our voices are strong enough and Bioware gives us a much much better alternative

Just right before you beat it, turn off your PC/console.
Problem solved.

Unfortunately, your right. Image IPB That is the best fix for this game. I have some friends who haven't finished the game yet and that is the advice I going to give them.
For my friends who haven't bought the game yet, I am going to tell them not to. Or at least tell them to hold off till it drops in price.

The ratio for people who dislike the ending to liked the ending is 26 to 1. Rounded down. For every 100 people who like the ending, 2,600 hated it and want a better one.

How dumb would they have to be to ignore numbers like that?

I can just see them coming in and saying, "This is our product and story. This is how it ends."
Man, I miss the old days on this forum  (pre ME2 days) where the BW crew would interact with us and there were bunnies and purple unicorns.

You know what? It's a hallucination. Shepard passed out and is hallucinating while he slowly bleeds to death in front of the Crucible controls. Tragic.
.

LOL i said the same thing. cept maybe he is still blacked out on earth near the conduit! the hallucination was his mind testing him to see if his resolve was strong. I mean he was given 3 choices by the kid (where the hell he came out of IDK) the first was destruction of the reapers to see if he was still fighting to win. the second was control to see if he was giving into the temptation of power. and the last was compermise where he was being tested to see if he gave up and was allowing the reapers to semi win. obviously picking control or compermise would end up in his death since he gave up the fight but choosing destruction meant he still had fight left in him making the movement of his body at the end be him waking up ready to keep fighting. (i doubt him moving at the end was at the citadel since u can see the citadel explode after the energy wave. plus how could shep live with no oxygen in a destroyed citadel. Im just saying lol
had to get that out

still hopeing for a dragon age awakening type disc with better endings.Image IPB

Has Bioware made any sort of response at all to this? I mean, just kind of a "We are aware that you are upset" kind of thing?

I dont get why they decided to betray us like this. I can really say from the bottom of my heart that was the worst ending to any video game I've ever played.

What happened to this?

What happened to this???

It's like JEEZ what were they thinking!! Talk about setting yourselves up for failure.

Not yet. There have been some subtle responces on Twitter, but nothing else. I can bet you EA/BioWare is making everyone shut up so they can get an official respose out.

I think that as long as they can write people off as being angry about homosexual romances, Day 1 DLC, or just upset and tanking reviews on purpose, they can still dismiss it as "haters gonna hate".

There are other issues for them to speak out on without even touching the endings. And, honestly, they'll probably want to enjoy the critical reviews and explain why it's their masterpiece first before admitting they might have made a mistake.

I cancelled my SWTOR account recently. I thought I would share what i wrote.

I postponed playing SWTOR for a while because of the anticipation of Mass Effect 3 but still, I payed my subscription so that when I was ready, I could jump back in. After watching the three different endings to a game that I have closely followed for so long, I'm just not willing to pay Bioware/EA another penny until the endings are revamped. It sucked my soul from my body to see a gaming company that made decision making games in such a style that all who play can get the ending they like, pigeon-hole its consumers into a dark ending that left more questions than answers.

Bioware has always awed me with innovative ways to invest my time and feelings into their games. This time I feel robbed of that. I truly hope you can find a way to meet your customers in a middle ground and allow for not just 3 dark endings to such a marvelous game, but endings that allow your fan base to truly feel that decisions matter in a game that is based on the concept of making moral choices and the rewards / consequences of them.

I hope that with enough cancelations and refusals to buy more DLCs Bioware/EA will see that making its fan base settle for what they give them ALSO has consequences.

I posted on the Mass Effect Facebook wall just to vent a little more and instantly got "Oh look another tantrum" and another about "This is WAR not everything can be happy".

Clearly these people haven't finished the game, or don't have any perception of good story telling.

Anyone notice they're locking threads about the endings being bad, telling them to come here so it can all be in one place? Yet they're not locking the duplicate threads talking about how the game was good, and telling them to stick it in one thread. Makes you think...

And a DLC is exactly what I want. This is not "CURZE YOU, BIOWARE, A THOUSAND POX UPON YOUR SOX!" but rather a request for them to make ONE final gesture to the benefit of fans who followed this game and took it every bit as seriously as they did, to make it all possible.

I just finished ME3... I scoured the internet hoping this wasn't the true ending, and that I somehow screwed up my playthrough and missed some mysterious fourth ending. Or maybe an unobtained epilogue. But I found nothing but speculation.

I dearly hope that Bioware manages to make a DLC. I would gladly pay for it. All I want is closure. This game series has been an important part of my life. I spent years with this game, making decisions and relationships in the game. Seeing those decisions and relationships have an effect in the game. When everything you do shapes the world of the game, it becomes an emotional investment.

And then ME3 ending comes... And it is all washed away. I believe what I read in the "Was the ending a hallucination thread" may be the real result here. Bioware will release a DLC that will have Shepard wake up and we will get the REAL ending. They have already announced hundreds of dollars of DLC. They have begged us to keep our saved games and our copies of ME3, but havne't told us why. I am going to have faith in them, and keep my copy and my save. And hope for a DLC that shows me the REAL ending to my Mass Effect.

If Bioware is paying attention, they are seeing the effect of this, and realizing how many people they are losing as fans. THis is going to kill their company. I don't think they will be dense enough to let that happen... They will give us DLC and we will see a true, happy ending. I am not giving up hope on this one.

Read this thread:
http://social.biowar...index/9727423/2 . They collective ideas there kind of have a very good point. This is where I get my hope.

Damn the numbers on the poll are increasing fast.

I hope some idiot isn't spamming it with alts. It would give them an excuse to disregard the entire thing.

I'm still in shock. It may take me a few days to complete another playthrough.

I was almost ready to accept an ending like this if you made a bad choice, in fact, I expected it.

I was ready to accept a good, bad, and 'middle of the road' option depending on your alignment, conversation choices, class, and LI all contributing to the ending you get, with a chance of a happily ever after and Shepard basically retiring. "Screw this, save your own galaxy next time." Or something.

But nothing of the sort. All three of the ending choices I saw are essentially the same- the one ray of hope is when stargazer claims there is 'one more story' which I PRAY means there is more to it- another DLC that fixes the horrid taste in my mouth that this ending just gave me.

As I stated in another thread- this felt to me like getting the opportunity to woo your dream girl (or guy, however you roll, not the point), have the most amazing physical and emotional experience of your LIFE with them, only for them to get up the moment it's all over, slap you, and walk off with their spouse- who just so happens to be someone you really hate. To top it off, your 'choice' to use protection and buy them the expensive dinner? Doesn't matter. Still turns out the same.

Do not get me wrong. I am not nerd raging against the game- over the course of this trilogy, it has been one of the BEST rides in my gaming career. I will not rant, curse, or demand anything, as in the end, I am but an end user, and not a developer.

What I also am, however, is a customer. A loyal fan, and an old timer who does not think it is too much to ask to have the 'warm fuzzy' ending that 40+ hours of game time per game in the trilogy should bring... That being said, I would, as many of the others here also have, *request* That some other DLC come down the pipe, and even if there cannot be a truly 'happy' ending, alter the three choices enough to where they do not seem like sad carbon copies of one another and all the choices you have made up to this point are largely irrelevant.

I would also be in favor of any other game in the ME universe, or new graphic novels (comix!) with the possible exception of MMO gaming. Who am I kidding, I would probably give that a try too.

Also- I would have liked to have gotten the chance to off TIM myself, not have him go all Saren on me and off himself when he finally 'sees the light' AKA Saren... right after running for the Conduit. I could have sworn I was on Ilos and not in London for that 3 or so minutes it took to make that run.

At any rate, as I cool off and hope that Buzz Aldrin Foreshadowing that the story may not yet be over is true, I will step off the soapbox and attempt to digest the extreme disappointment that I cannot help my Tali build her house on Rannoch, Can't go get drunk with Garrus, and Can't watch Joker and EDI... get very unnatural, and that Mordin, Legion, and Anderson aren't around to shake my hand and congratulate me on a job well done.

The rage is only going to get worse, if Bioware doesn't say and do something. The unhappy fans list is only growing by the day. It would be nice to hear something from them.
