This fleet game we play is showing something very nicely: the assembling of war assets didn't suck. No in fact we liked it! The game in itself didn't suck. The story didn't suck!

But the ending (let's face it: There is ONLY ONE ending with small variations) is hollow and empty.

I liked gathering the war assets. I thought it was neat to show who would be joining the fight, although I disliked not being to actually see them in action. Yes, you can make the argument that it comes down to a numbers game, but I was one of those nerds who read the descriptions for each of the assets and liked them :P

I just... I feel like I need, not just one hug, but a hug for every point of Military Strength I gathered in that game. A hug for every moral decision I made in all three games. And another hug for each time I romanced Liara. And even all those multi-thousand hugs wouldn't be enough to make me feel better about this.

Been doing some data mining, forum lurking, answer searching... I too would pay for DLC with a better ending. The points of contention I have with guardian's argument regarding synthetic life are these:

1. EDI. She was born the rogue VI on Luna. Cerberus comes into possession of her after Shepard's deactivation, and adds reaper tech, thus creating EDI. Through Joker freeing her from her shackles, falling in love, and living life in general, modifies her own code to value all life over self preservation. In the end witnessing what the reapers do to all advanced life past and present finds them repulsive and would rather die than be like them.

2. The Geth. You end a centuries old conflict between them and the Quarians, if you chose the apropriate path, and the Geth gain true individualism in the process. The Geth assist the Quarians in recolonizing parts of Rannoth, and even go so far as to help them build shelters and accelerate the Quarian's re-acclimatization to the environment.

Even in the beginning the Geth did not want to completely destroy their creators, they only ever fought for self-preservation, and even saved the memories of the Quarians that sacaficed themselvs for the Geth. Those are not the actions of a race, synthetic or otherwise, that is bent on the destruction of their creators. It's not until Reaper influence that the Geth become openly hostile towards organic life.

Anyways I just wanted to state these facts, and have probably restated them, but I have far too much invested into this series time wise and emotionally to accept the endings as they stand.

Having said all that, I don't know how much hope there is for a change, or addition to the current endings as they stand. As I stated above, I did some data mining, and what I found didn't leave much hope IMO.

And you are fully right.

The mere existance of EDI and the Geth is a counter-point to the flawed logic of the God/Kid/AI.

I loved Mass Effect 3! I loved it very much. It developed Valen and made me really love my main shep and she felt completed. Everything was perfect!

Until the end. :/

Bioware can fix this. I want to still trust them.

I told myself i wouldn't visit these forums, but after seeing all the "the ending was horrible" posts i had to come here for myself. so there is just 1 ending and it sucks? I'm now depressed.

We have accomplished a great deal in the past few days. We've gone from being a group of whiny malcontents to a worldwide community of honestly disgruntled people with a valid complaint. We have alerted the Masses, and have inspired major organizations to seriously and objectively report on this debacle.
No, we are not bullies. rather, i personally would accuse Bioware of being the bully in its actions and refusal to acknowledge its customers as a valid entity for anything but the further advancement of its coffers. We have been aggressive, but not unfair. We have given credit where credit is due, and have not pointed direct blame at any one person or group ( though it was damnably tempting ). We've had to be aggressive, and we need to continue to be aggressive until we either get the endings we and the game deserve, or admit defeat with many of us never spending so much as time to even consider EAS/Bioware offerings again.
We've done good, but we cant stop now.. We havent even made it to the end run yet..

Man, I was just SO SHOCKED. The game was just so good; I had full faith the ending would rock. I looked at all of them, then, in quick succession, and was like, seriously, what?! Days later, I'm still in shock.

Shock really was the first feeling, for about 20 minutes after finishing. I've never had my emotions switched under me so quickly. I did everything in my power not to spoil the game for myself, and I was so utterly ready for a fantastic ending to fantastic series... and then bam. If I recall correctly, I didn't feel sad at first, nor did I feel angry. I felt just shocked. Emotionless. Empty. It took me a whole hour to realize I wasn't just confused, I didn't just misunderstand things, it really was this horrible.

I think there was about 15 mins of "whaaaa" "whaaa?" "whaaaa the hell"
then i went to the forums to see what i did wrong....
then the crushing *Crushing* despair that no, that was as good as it gets.
Really, its like i had been kicked in the stomach and was hit over the head with something very heavy.
other than that yea Shocked and empty were good words to describe it :?

So I just watched my stepbrother beat the game, and he's as disappointed as I was when he finished the game.

I did the Biosynthetic DNA ending, he did the Destroy the Reapers ending, no big difference.

Agreed. This whole thread is an example of what BioWare has done. This is also the first moment in history when an entire INCREDIBLE trilogy is ruined by 10 minutes at the end of the last game.

Yep, Szaiu. I figured I screwed up my playthrough somehow. I was like, "okay, I'll reload--oh, wait. The wheezing in a pile of rubble is the best case scenario? After you destroy the synthetic life you've spent the game supporting. Uh huh. Or you can choose to violate every sentient being in the universe by forcibly rewriting their genetic code. And die. Or... you could become one with what you hate... and die. Hm."

*goes out drinking*

Okay apparently what we are doing here is having some kind of effect, I just checked the facebook page and found a gamefront article: www.gamefront.com/player-starts-poll-asking-bioware-for-new-mass-effect-3-ending/ they are reporting about the poll for a new ending so we are at least being noticed now. Hopefully this puts things in perspective for Bioware.
