All the end needed was the Normandy taking out a reaper but getting shot down to earth and Shepard ending up on earth after the citadel explosion. Then a cut scene on earth with celebrations in the background and Shepard + LI holding hands looking outside accompanied by his friends outside at a bright new day. Finally a 20 minute epilogue rolls giving info about what happens to everyone important in the Mass Effect Galaxy.

Seriously its NOT HARD to to please the fans. That ending and epilogue alone would have pleased 90% of people on this thread.

this would of been a grate ending even without the epilogue

I just want to add my voice to the chorus. I thought the ending was ok, I sorta like the synthesis idea and the final evolutionary state. The problem is that there is only one choice where there should have been 5 or 6 truly different endings. When I finished the game I said to myself "Man, I must have done something really wrong, I'd better go online to find out how I can achieve the good ending in my second play-through."
Like many others, i was highly disappointed to find out there were no other options. I had fully intended to do several play-throughs to see the various endings but now I don't see any reason. I'm quite shocked by this because I never felt that way about the first two games.

 The destruction of the ME Relays in ME3 didn't create the cataclysmic explosion like it did in Arrival am I right? So it is safe to assume that the majority of every race involved in the final battle is now on earth since they cant get out of the Sol system.I mean sure Earth has gone to **** but there will still be a massive multi-raced fleet above the planet with a heap of tech.

They only have to rebuild earth and live sort of normally for a few thousand years until some smart cookie invents the Hyper drive or a warp drive.

So I too just finished the game. Been hearing about the "awful endings" for a while but I was able to restrain myself from looking, and miraculously avoided spoilers.

I...uh....yeah, they are bad =/

Personally I'm just going to retreat into headcanon and ignore the actual game's ending.

In my head canon the Crucible transmits a kill message to all the Reapers, and the Citadel doesn't blow up. Shepard lives happily ever after (more or less). The End.

Of course I understand that not all people are satisfied with making up their own canon ending like that, so I can't blame them for starting this poll to officially change the endings. Best of luck to you guys.

It kind of worked for me. For 30 or so minutes, then I started to feel the need to play agin since the MP session boosted my Galactic Readiness. Then I remembered how it's gonna end anyway so...

Not so much that we demand a happy ending, but that we demand an actual ending to the game. If you're fine with the game's ending as-is, then good, we're happy for you. But we aren't happy.
