Dont be shocked. They're only half fictional. The other half is me and you and evertyone else whos played it. We get attched because in so many ways, Shepard is us. Through the dialogue cho0ices we make, the background we choose, the actions we take, Shepard is us, and that aint fiction.. It isnt shepard who dies on the screen and betrays the universe, its US, and i believe thats perhaps the root of why we're all upset.

If they're smart, that's what they'll run with for DLC.  Really the only way out of this mess at this point.

I find it shocking how much I care about fictional characters, but I can say I was genuinely disappointed that my Shepard didn't get the chance to grow old and have little blue babies with Liara.

Unfortunately the endings remind me too much of Warcraft 3. It feels like Bioware deliberately destroyed vast portions of the established lore in order to pave the way for an MMO.

I knew this would be Shepards final fight, but why did it have to play out that way? They could have easily given him some debilitating injury so that he could no longer be a hero, then let him settle down with his LI...

I just feel lost. I really should be leveling my Sentinel in Swtor.. Can't even bring myself to log on. I just keep checking twitter and these forums in hope for news of some kind.

debilitating injury or no - this is what i wanted from an ending (that and it to make some form of sence) ! I am both insulted and upset by the one that we have, hundreds of hours invested in dozens of shep (through its lifetime) and I get an amazing game that no one could be bothered to write an ending for!

U just made me feel bad.  Instead of paying for the $80 version of ME3, I could have bought myself the $60 regular version have have enough left over for a bottle of Captain Morgan.

Sense we are talking about how bioware can pull a recovery how about this. The destruction of the citadel created a split path in the fabric of reality after the first was destroyed epicly shepard finds himself in the second timestream just in the citadel having overwritten the shepard of that reality. The decision picked can give shepard the ability to converse with the Ai differently.

I mean might as well go for broke with the series rift?

You nailed it.
We get to make decisions throughout the game, choosing the fate of all the fictional characters we care about and the ending throws it all away, forcing us to choose 1 of 3 bad endings.

Dang, this thread moves on soooo fast. Got to my ending post and seeing as how so many liked it, I think I'll make my worst case scenario ending.

If you're interested in reading, go back to page 634 (replace the page number in the url). Hell, even a Bioware employee who closed my original post said he liked it, that was an ego boost to say the least. I think I might work on an all possible endings version of it. Now, however, I will begin writing the worst possible result (IE, cycle continues)

If you read all the stuff promised by Bioware Mass Effect 3 have multiple endings. When i play it i was expected at least two big ending Parangon/Renegade with several cutscene behind that to see what happens with all the choices you have made in the past, for the species Krogan/Geth/Quarian and else, what happens to the last members of your crew, what happens to your love interest, what happens to Shepard.

And all i have got its one ending where i have to choose a color. WTF ?!

I just don't get why the hell Joker is even going through a mass relay, why isn't he still participating in the battle for Earth? That makes no sense whatsoever.

The problems that stem from the relays being destroyed are huge too. The combined fleets are all stuck in the Sol system. Not to mention that if you got the "Shepard alive" ending, it looks like Shepard wakes up on Earth as well, probably thousands of light years away from wherever the Normandy ended up.

I've been playing Bioware games since Baldur's Gate 2, I literally bought an Xbox 360 JUST to play Mass Effect (bought it launch day), I am a huge BW fanboy and Mass Effect was probably my favorite RPG franchise of all time. Until now. The ending was just... disappointing.

Well, in BioWare's defense... They only said that ME3 was the end of SHEPARD'S story. They never said it was the end of Mass Effect as a whole.

Wrong in Casey hudson interview he stated this game was going to end the series. Well he said Series that means MASS EFFECT not Shepard. I guess you do not follow the creators. If you have a srource please share it.

Guess it DLC or Game 4 - I wont buy game 4 if it ends like this one. As far as DLC it better change the ending because Geth and EDI will not Die by me shooting a power supply even if I would live.

I would love to see it end the way Arios wrote it. Only, in my game, Liara would be the love interest instead of Tali (because BioWare refuses to let me Romance Tali as FemShep).

My theory about this disjointed scene is, it is from one of the original endings... naturally not sure about the context, though.

Same here. God this is so depressing. I have never been this disappointed by a video game before. Five years of my life wasted on a series that in the last 15 minutes made every choice I made since then mute.
