You can get Shepard to live. You just have to have a full Galactic Readiness. 100%. And I'm pretty sure you have to work your ass off otherwise in the game as well.

Crap, think I'll go back to skyrim, playing me3 has not felt that any choice I made had any effect on anything. Its too linear, and you cannot save anyone 'cpet Kaiden and so far he is still unavailable. Similiar with Kasumi .
Best part was the prothean, but I felt much more should have been gained from freeing him, and that bloody dream cutscene, goes on, and on and on.
Ah well maybe there will be some good dlc later, or other mods,

Wow, just wow.
And I thought KOTOR 2's endings were bad. But these endings are just goddamn awful. Never saw so many Deus ex machina and plotholes in one piece. That's too much even for videogame.

I just want it fixed. I poured so much time into this series and after the ending I have little desire to run through all my other sheps. just fix the thing.

FIX IT FIX IT FIX IT!!

jk I'll be constructive. This game desperately needs new endings, don't let it become the next half life 2: episode 2. Bad endings of this magnitude make a bad story, rubs people the wrong way. Please repair this damaged ending.

No, other people took the Red ending, too.

They're still just as disappointed :)

Actually my Shepard lived and my readiness was only 78%

my fleet strength, however, was over 6k. I think that's what matters.

What if this is him waking up from the laser attack from Harbinger?  With everything else a hallucination?

- Why is shepard without his armor in the citadel? But is with his armor in the post credits video when he breathes

I'm almost positive that shepar was wearing armor, but they just got shot by a reaper beam.  It looked like her armor to me, just very burned and crispy armor.

But besides the above everything else seems odd and illogical.  Not to mention, was shepard out in open space when talking to the catalyst? Because it sure looked like she was outside the station in open space without a breather and no problem with gravity.

I just seen a ME commercail on tv I just don't see how they can have such BA commercials but having a godawful ending.

Easy. They manage to have a BA series from beginning until almost the very end. Pick and choose from any part of the game barring the last 10 minutes and you have a BA commercial. My problem is that the commercial is kind of misleading. I don't think anyone can argue that the overall theme of the advertising campaign was always

"Take Earth Back"

Which kind of sucks, because you really don't take anything back. It's more like

"Turn Galactic Civilization FUBAR and leave the mess on Earth for people to clean up"

Lol yea, the only time you were on earth was a few mins in the beginning and a few mins in the end. I wish you spent more time fighting down on earth instead of traveling around solving other peoples problems.

well TBH I can't bring myself to finish the game all I wanted was a happy ending but nooooooooo had to have this dark drama rubish no choice no reward for doing well or playing the MP war assets mean almost nothing as from what I can tell all the ending are just different shades of fubar.

I'm fine if Shepard dies. Just not like this Bioware. Not like this. I also think there should be option for a happy ending. A lot of time has been spent playing ME1 and ME2 ad though some gamers like myself are fine with a DA:O style Ultimate Sacrifice, there should also be a "CHOICE" for a happy ending.

I can see all that...except the Elcor.

Elcor, running?  Ummm....well, I suppose they could move -a bit- faster than a slow human walk.

A gorilla can reach a top speed of about 25 MPH, considering the make up of the Elcor (coming from a higher gravity planet) they should easily be able to achieve a high running speed on Earth (much higher than any human)

Ever see them move in-game?  They move very, very slowly.  The do everything very, very slowly.

Really?  The first few seconds of that clip show an Elcor moving at a relatively normal (not slow) speed, It would also be hard for an Elcor to be running anywhere on the citadel considering it's pretty close quarters and there is the danger of hurting people, but on a battlefield? they have the freedom to move.

At least Kotor 2 was little Obsidian being bullied by LucasArts for a Christmas release. They admitted they screwed up. Bioware should a) Have enough power to tell EA they have to wait a bit or at least B) HAVE THE ENDING FOR A PLANNED TRILOGY ALREADY DONE.

This point has actually been discussed. Most agree that it's a very high possibility. And it makes the most sense.

I've yet to see that supposed "Shepard" alive breath thing no matter what I've done nor have I seen any sequence in which Anderson lives no matter what I've done prior to that point.

In any case, if all of it is a "dream" of some sort, and they plan to release the "real" conclusion as DLC (free or not), I'd still have lost all hope in BW.

The walking dead thing was intentional. It was a reference - you saw how much of the pre-release marketing was dedicated toward "It's like Earth, but with REAPERS LANDING."

Everything else... I've got nothing.

Interpreted doesn't really mean much. It's not exactly "official", as in a statement from the dev team that wrote it.

I felt absolutely nothing when I beat the game. Not sadness or happiness or anything in between. I just simply did not care. This is probably my own problem, but the endings just completely detached me from the series--and more importantly--the characters. Could just be some sort of defense mechanism since I knew all of the endings before I beat it, but I'll leave that one to the psychologists out there.

This is the end of Shep's story, for eff's sake. And to end it like this?

So, the possibility of a 'hullicination' ending exists, huh?  That would actually make sense in a way, believe it or not.  There's plenty of evidence to support this:

- How did Anderson get to the relay, even though the chatter on the radio indicated nobody got there?

- Why is the final character shepard encounters a child that looks too similar to the child encountered before?

- Why is it that shooting the keeper when you beam aboard the citidel do nothing?

- *Mumbles something about the space battle having to do with it*

- *Mumbles another thing about lines being seen when confronting the illusive man*

- While shepard appears to be 'burning' when merging with synthetics or assuming direct control, it is possible he is disintegrating into a husk.

- Why is it that you can just keep shooting your weapon without ever having to reload?

- What should be paragon is renegade, and what should be renegade is paragon.  Did the reapers try to trick shepard?

- How did joker manage to pick up some squadmates and try to outrun a shockwave explosion?  At the speed he was traveling, and at the rate the shockwave caught up, he might as well have been traveling at half the rate of the velocity launch of the mass relay.  Also, how did he survive a crash landing on a planet, especially in the 'destroy synthetics' ending?  No broken bones?  No suffocation due to disabled life support and backups (Destroy ending only)?

- How is it that the illusive man undergoes a radical skin change in only a short span of time?

- How could the reapers already destroy the crucible if you take a little too long deciding?  Wouldn't you experience some kind of explosion or hear the crucible being destroyed?

Sorry if I went overboard, but I figured I would include whatever I could think of, even if it is wrong or ludicrus.  One thing I can say: I 'may' recall hearing some sort of noise upon the child leaving in the beginning of the game, but I'm not sure, and I don't know if the demo or full version differs on if you can hear it.  You would think that wearing headphones would allow you to catch up better on it, but nope.  Nor did I hear James asking about some sort of noise.

I will admit though that the sudden disappearence of the child at the beginning was odd, especially since you could hear him crawling through the vent shaft.  However, at that time, I dismissed it as 'game magic', where games tend to bend stuff because of their fictional nature.  Not to mention when you see the child and/or shepard burning in his dreams, you can hear the 'hum' of when they burn.  It's actually similar to the hum you hear in ME1 with sovereign.

If there is some sort of secret or conspiracy going on in this game, the developers better keep laughing while they still can...especially when people get upset about it and have to shell out cash for the good ending.  Sadly, im a sucker for this kind of stuff, so of course ill end up paying for a chance at a good ending, or just the good ending with no strings attached, period.  Having this kind of stuff is unique in this game, but it does have a price...and the community suffers for it.
