Why can't the ending be like DA:O? I'd rather just have text and images then this which is almost the same as it seems.

Shepard automatically dies in the merge ending however.

Are you sure it isn't just his body?  Wouldn't the idea of Merging mean he still exists, as part of the reapers collective consciousness?

Edit - Mr. House answered for me already.

Can't bang Liara if you're a MechaGod. It all seems so pointless :crying:

The Relays are being used to power the Crucible. In Theory, the Destruction ending wipes out Eezo based Technology. The other endings end up using the Mass Relay's power to do what they're doing, thus knocking them out.

Honestly, just send a Reaper to go pick up your team if you're doing Control. They better have a bar on the Citadel when I'm done.

and that is stupid. I friggin find eezo lying around everywhere in little tool boxes. Just because the reapers die, it destroys a tech?

Thats like saying....marconi is dead.....radios no longer work!

Well, I now see no reason to even own the game. Between forced to have Origins(Even Hard Copy), Day 1 DLC about Promethians, & now F.U. Ending no matter what.

I'll pass.

JJ

Wait. I thought that they said that Origin wasn't required with a hard copy...? Are you sure that it is...?

It is required.  Again they "lied" to you.

JJ

Oh wow. I guess I'll buy Tales of Graces F then. It's a Wii game on the PS3, but I still feel like they've been more honest with me.

I would honestly rather have all squad members live and Shepard die, then run around as a squadmate, as new captain of the normandy.

True, never thought of it that way, I guess controlling or Merging ultimately means space travel isn't dead even w/o Mass Relays when you look at it that way, but still........

Really, the whole thing is just stupid.  It needs to be retconned immediately.

No, Garrus ate Tali. Liara manages to repair one of the Kodiak shuttles, ans spends the next thousand years flying back to Earth. She finds Shepard's grave, cries a single tear, and dies.

I'M GONNA BE A HEAD WRITER Y'ALL

This is edgy and grimdark, I approve now make 6 variants of this that can use the same art assets and audio files.

If you didn't complete Liara's hacking missions on Illium, a huskified Shepard will emerge from the grave and pull out Liara's heart through her mouth.

If you chose the paragon response in every Liara dialogue across all three games, Liara will lay a hand on Shep's grave before dying. On the tombstone is etched, "I wait for you on the other side, Liara."

I'll think of another four later. It's late and I have to get up for work in 5 hours.

LOL the Bioware fanwanking is finally coming to an end. People are finally waking up to the realization that BW bit off more than they could chew in ME2, and all they care is you placing that preorder.

BW storywriting is overrated and masked behind amateur romance scenes that only teenagers and unfulfilled housewives can enjoy. The emperor has no clothes.

Should have seen this coming, ever since they created that filth of a game called DA2.

BUT DON'T WORRY GUYZ! ME3 will be just as awesome as DA2 because there's gonna be gaysex romance!

Stand Knee Poo. End of line.

You should really apply for lead writer in the next bioware game! You've got the same mentality! lol

If there's anything good about this coming sh*tstorm, it's that it apparently flipped BSN's "funny" switch.

Oh it's doable.  Simply capture a criminal, melt him into genetic paste, turn him into a you know what, and invite her in........

See how simple it is? :D

I sensed a FFX like ending ages ago.

Except FFX had a good ending. You knew what was going to happen with Final Fantasy X. What Bioware did would be like if FFX went like this:

After you saved Spira, the airship was blown up and landed on an isolated island where the rest of the heroes would spend their days from the rest of society. What happened to Spira? Who cares? It "lived."

I just saw the pictures of the relays, these endings I'm hearing about are absolutely horrible. They shouldn't be the only way. Urgh. This is going to basically ruin the game for me since I'll be knowing this miserable ending is coming and that the journey is pointless. Damn I wish I hadn't been stupid enough to read the spoilers. At least then it would have just been a horrible shock after I enjoyed a great game.

There also has to be optimism though, what if they really are listening and are actually working on things, i dont know. i just know that we have to have SOME faith in BW

Shepard dies with merge, Shepard's humanity dies but her/his essence lives on and becomes the new guardian. These two choices should not destroy the relays AT all. It's just horrible drama that is...ugh.

Does that mean Shepard becomes the new Sovereign?  The next ME game will take place 50,000 years in the future, and a random Queezob (that's the new race in town) confronts this Reaper called Shepherd?

Gah, I wish it wasn't all so MacGuffiny. I wish Shepard and Jeff Goldblum could fly inside Harbinger and set things right, and then get to work rebuilding society with their LI and getting eaten by dinosaurs, respectively.

No, you are not a Reaper, you controll the Reapers, which means you can use them to cause hell or help rebuild the galaxy. With merge you are dead, gone. Nothing remains. That's why I think controll is the better ending because while yes Shepard is "dead" she/he now has a race that can help everyone rebuild and hopefully find the Normandy.

Except the heroes could still travel back to where they needed to.

Even X-2 managed to have better bittersweet endings than from what I'm hearing about this. I actually prefer the bittersweet "normal" ending to the "good" one in X-2. Because it makes sense, and Yuna grows as a character as a result of it.
