So... regardless of your actions, galactic civilization is cast into a new dark age, Shepard either dies or gets merged with a machine in some manner, and the entire Normandy crew (LI's included) either get husked or starve to death in complete isolation?
Pre-order CANCELLED. I'll reconsider if this turns out to be false. The Raider shotgun isn't worth that risk.
What about the fourth option, Bioware? The one where the Reapers butt the hell out and everyone goes home. If this "technological singularity" is inevitably going to destroy organic civilization in a few thousand years, so be it! Let organic civilization take the lumps for its own short-sightedness. Don't protect us from our own actions. Let us rise or fall on our own merits. Leave us with the CHOICE. Seriously, how patriarchal can you get?
If all life is wiped out in the manner predicted (ludicrous though it may seem), the Reapers can resurrect it with seedships which they'll keep isolated in dark space until needed (if ever). Wiping out civilization hundreds of thousands of times over to offset a hypothetical scenario in which civilization is wiped out a bit more permanently is just about the stupidest thing I've ever heard - it's like a work of bad fan fiction.
