I don't get these "screw happy endings" people. Like only immature kids want happy endings? Lord of the Rings was totally great until it's sucky happy ending with people getting married, rebuilding, moving on with their lives, right? Yeah screw all that.

Exactly. If I want my Shepard to have a "less horrible" ending, I can. She deserves it. I mean, come on, how many hrs have we put into this game? How many times did we replay it to get the most perfect ending? How about the suicide mission in ME2? Was the "everyone dies" ending the best ending because it was dark and horrible? The problem with this ending is that we do not have the choice to change anything. We have to accept one final ending and deal with it. If you want your Shep to sacrifice her/himself for the galaxy, great. Because I sure don't. I want my Shep to have the option to go back to her LI and have a peaceful life. Why is wishing for a good, happy ending bad?

Also, the fact that you promisse to your LI that you will come back and then never returns is a pain in the ass.

Out of the three endings, I found the synthesis solution was the coolest. If the Catalyst is right, this will end the threat of AI eventually destroying organic life. I think if there was a way to save the mass relays, I'd be happiest with this ending.

That's basically agreeing with Organic DNA is nothing without synthetics.

It is also conceding that synthetic and organic life can never co-exist, which sounds stupid to me and is unsupported by evidence WITHIN THE SAME GAME.

lets send the reapers to BW and have them turned into Husks :)
I loved the game and HATED the ending. I got less than a weeks play out of the game, and i am now back playing star wars the old republic. In ME 1 & 2, i played each class at least once, But not ME3.

This sums up the uniting drive we all share quite well, I think.

I don't mean to fuss, but doesn't it bother you that the synthesis solution involves a single pulse of "energy" installing complex hardware into every single living thing in the galaxy instantaneously?

But the pulse was green! GREEN! That makes all the difference! /sarcasm

It should have been a nice deep brown, to match the color of BS.

Not sure if its been stated yet but aren't they doing a rewrite of the deception novel everyone tore apart? If they can do that with an entire novel they can do it with the ending of this game. Make my decisions matter dammit...id even accept a cut and paste of Origins Closing ceremony/my funeral with text boxes as long as i got closure and not some philosphical bull**** that doesn't make sense

Look, I get that some of you don't understand our outrage. "It's just a game" or "you're overreacting" or "it's Bioware's story, they can tell it how they want" are starting to pop up more and more frequently. And if you don't understand, that's fine. The fact still remains that WE understand our feelings on the matter. We have every right to express those feelings of dissatisfaction, betrayal, anger, depression, what have you.

If this were, instead, a massive thread praising an ending that left everyone feeling euphoric and incredibly happy, would you be saying the same things you are now? Or are you just chiming in because we're upset about the way things currently are?

Call it what you will. Call us whiny fanboys. Make completely irrelevant comparisons to other series' that don't have anywhere near the emotional depth, involvement, and dedication that the Mass Effect trilogy has. Mass Effect has become a lifestyle in and of itself, just like Star Wars or Star Trek. To ruin it with endings such as these, where they share more similarities than differences, and leave no questions answered and gaping holes in the plot and continuity, is inexcusable.

If you don't like our crusade to have the series end the way it deserves, that's fine. Don't like it. We aren't trying to force you to like it. But stop trying to force us to shut up. We aren't going to.

hora +1 mate

I'm definitely one of those "I want a happy ending" people. **** it, I want to get drinks with Garrus and adopt some baby Krogans after all that hard work!

Gotta agree. I wasn't really expecting a happy ending, nor do I really HAVE to have one, but would it be nice? Yes, of course. I think Shepard, all Shepards, deserve a little peace after going through all of that.

I have a problem. My friend has a birthday tomorrow and he asks to give him a Mass Effect 3 CE.
He does know nothing about endings. What should i do?
He played 1&2 with great love and has 22 shepards ready for launch...

That's a tough one, it really is.  As a fan of the series nothing would have stopped me from getting my hands on and playing ME3.  And if someone had warned me that if I do it would totally ruin my love and passion for the other games I would have ignored them and said that nothing, Nothing, could ever do that.  And then I finished ME3.

While I don't want others to lose their love for ME, I also think it's unfair to try and prevent them from experiencing how wonderful most of ME3 really is.  The bigger question you probably have to ask is, Are you the one who wants to offer them this.....'gift.'?

I find it quite suprising, that some of you want to actually PAY for the ending.

Ok let me join the ranks of the VERY disappointed people here.
It's ok if there are Bad Endings and its also okay if some of them are bitter sweet but these Endings all together are very annoying and depressing at the same time. To hell with realism! I don't want do only END a Game I want a way to WIN it and feel satisfied with the results. And after 3 Games we deserve some answers and not more questions like: Where stranded the Normandy? What happend to the fleets trapped in Sol System? Why the hell did the stupid little boy who actually controls the citadel or is at least a part of it not manually open a way for the reapers when the proteans manipulated the Keepers to only take orders from INSIDE the citadel?
I'm confused and depressed at the same time.

It's horrible, I know.... but yes I would. If it was a real ending and provided real clouser, then sure. I'd hate myself, but I pretty much do now anyway.

No one WANTS to pay for it, but we realize it's probably the best chance to get it done, since EA is not Valve or CDProjekt and the odds of them doing anything purely for the fans benefit is unlikely.

I was looking for ways to make sense of this whole ending-business and came across this:

"Another moral victory can see seen in Arthur Miller's play The Crucible the character John Proctor was executed but his children received his land."

I can see where Shepard won in some intellectual way. He got to the end, he made the ultimate sacrifice. But...it just doesn't feel right. Especially that the whole Galaxy is disconnected now. What about the fleets stranded in Sol, all the Turians, Quarians, Salarians, Krogan who'll never be back home...?

I just hope the "it's a dream" thing turns out to be right and there's something more coming.

Agreed, it's more out of desperation to get the ending we deserve that we are willing to pay for it.

While I feel it shouldn't be necessary to pay I love the Mass Effect Series so much that I would pay to have a better concluson. So I can look back and say this was the best gaming trilogy ever made, instead of saying it was so close to the greatest gaming trilogy ever made.

I'll just throw my money if that what it takes to get a Disney Happy Ending for my Femshep
